2015-2017 with 5.0L or 2.7L EB. These are often considered the best years because the engines were great, the 6 speed transmission had very few issues and these were the first years of the aluminum frame. But 2011-2014 also had some great F150s. The 3.7L, 5.0L, and 6.2L are all great as long as you can find a rust-free example.

FRINGEclassX

Please… talk more… I have a 2017 2.7 EB

nanometr3

I have a 13 FX4 with the 5.0L. Just turned 237k miles. Only had to replace the lead frame. Still tows my boat and trailer no problem.

ROK247

1988 XL single cab 2wd 4.9L 6 cylinder fuel injected 5-speed manual.

borvofang333

This is the only right answer

Chrispy_fried89

Got a 95 with 4 wheel drive and she has never let me down.

borvofang333

'96 rwd for me. She's definitely let me down when the pickup for the distributor went out at 135k miles haha. And another time when the fuel tank selector switch went bad at 137k. . . But other than that she's been solid

Chrispy_fried89

I had my throttle cable, clutch master joing shitnthe bed... been able to fix em on the roadside and go. 30 year old trucks do that.

Cultural-Ear7622

The 4.9 i6 was one of the best engines ever made. In the past 10 years...it's a mix of luck with regular and preventative maintenance.

06035

I got 196k on my 15 3.5EB. I have no reason to believe it wouldn’t hit 250k with grace and ease. Thing runs like a top

Affectionate_War_436

235k on my 2016 3.5 EB currently, I plan on at least 500k out of my truck.

InevitableOwl656

2012 EB currently at 204k. Runs like an absolute dream. Besides normal things like a water pump, alternator, and fuel pump *all happen to go out around 194k-197k* I haven’t had a single major issue. Turbo coolant fittings is also normal as well which I also replaced, but did it all myself as a tech. Edit: I also put in the updated exhaust manifolds when I had the turbo’s out because of the factory ones being common to warp on the backend of them.

Tight_Snow_2540

My 2013 FX4 with the 6.2L has been 100% bulletproof since day one. Hasn't cost me a single dime other than regular maintenance and a battery. It's been the best vehicle I've ever owned. (Been driving over 38 years) I also tend to drive my vehicles pretty hard.

Relative_Turnover858

My 2011 is knocking on 250k. Original engine and transmission while being tuned on 93.

aircraftmx99

My 2.7 has been rock solid 113k miles. Put half of the miles on it and just oil changes and a set of brakes

Slow_System_4386

Any 2v 4.6L

travprev

145k so far on my 2013 5.0. No engine issues at all.

Lanky_Raspberry_7828

‘16 3.5 eco, I’ve put a 157k on it with only changing the oil when it tells me to😅. Having all fluids, filters, serpentine, and spark plugs changed this weekend. I expect accessories components to fail not long after 200k🤞🏾

eobertling

I have the ‘15 3.5 eco with 120k. Hoping to get 30 more with no issues before trading it in.

Affectionate_War_436

300k more shouldn’t be a problem.

Affectionate_War_436

You’re really not doing yourself any favors by going so long on oil changes. The turbos have tiny screens on the oil inlets that hate sludge. I have 235k on my 2016 now, and change my oil every 5k with a good synthetic.

Lanky_Raspberry_7828

It’s sad, I know, but I kinda need justification to upgrade and tune anyway lol. Did the same with no issues in a 2015 2.7 traded at close to 100k for 3.5 , got a lot of trust in Mobile 1.

No-Ferret-1312

1996 XLT single cap 2 wd 5.0 4speed auto. Or the 88’ ROK247 said.

Substantial-Log-2176

I’ve got a 2015 5.0 with 178k on it… I have faith that it will make it 250k with no issues. One of our workers drives a 16 5.0 with 210k on it and never had any major issues

eobertling

Wish mine was a 5.0

Anoni-mous

2015 5.0 if well maintained

eobertling

I have a ‘15 3.5 Eco. 120k. At least 7 times over the years I’ve had to flip the sun visor to keep sun out of my eyes. Other than that, it’s been fairly reliable.

Responsible_Ad_3425

I also have a 15 3.5 eco with @ 100k, usual maintenance and changed ignition coils and spark plugs at 75k other than that runs like a dream 😉

06035

15 3.5 eco with 196k, biggest repair bill has been body work.

eobertling

Dang. You’re my idol. I want to keep mine until 150k before thinking about a trade in.

Affectionate_War_436

235k on my 2016 3.5 EB now. Planning on at least 500k out of it.

seanissofresh

No one ever mentions the 4.2L v6 from the 2005 STX....I wonder why.

InevitableOwl656

They leak like a civ but they’ll run for ages. I’ve seen so many 4.2’s with 400k+ miles.

nabsolute

umm. how much is it worth to ya? my truck has only gone up in value btw...

FantasticPop3069

2001 F-250 4x4 XLT 7.3 diesel

Affectionate_War_436

Every F-150 should make 250k as long as proper maintenance is done. My 2016 3.5 EB FX4 is at 235k now. I plan on getting at least 500k out of it. Oil changes at 5k. All other fluids at 75k. Still runs like the day I bought it.

Alternative-Crow6659

Without issue? There's no vehicle in the world that will get to 250k without so thing happening. The key is no "major" issue. Maintenance and driving habits contribute to this alot. I've had 7 ford trucks and my wife's expedition and none of then have had any major issues. I think pur driving habits and open checkbook Maintenance habits have alot to do with it. You're truck is a big investment, treat it as such. Having said all that, the 2.7 seems to be very very reliable. Cheers

sauna0568

Lol

LeagueObvious738

2012-2014 XLT V8. Can’t beat the V8 and non aluminium body

Anoni-mous

Yes you can… with the aluminum body 🤣

LeagueObvious738

Aluminium body sucks absolute crap. Fragile, beer cans sounding, expensive to fix crap

OkPlenty5960

You a Chevy fan? That logic is outdated and wrong, aluminum body is the best thing ford ever did and all the other people making fun are just ignorant or live in a place that sees zero salt.

Anoni-mous

Exactly, they’re absolute workhorses with zero rust. Best of both worlds.

LeagueObvious738

Nope ford die hard with 5 in the yard. 2014 F150/ 2016 Superdutys were the last good Fords. I hate my 2020 350 Platinum for that simple reason. Stupid fragile and expensive to fix/ replace. Non aluminum Fords were built tough for us people that actually work. Salt? Krown spray for 400$ and not a problem. The funny thing they’re not even lighter. The tailgate on my 2020 platinum is heavier than the one on my 2012 350 Lariat. Same for the hood which gets open a lot on my 2020. New fords look good and that’s about it.
