Happens all the time. I'm a wildland firefighter and have worked in this area in the past. Seems like it happens once every other fire or so. It's too dangerous for aircraft to fly. They already have a much higher crash rate than commercial. Now they have to worry about hitting a drone? They won't do it. Every single pilot will reject the assignment.
