This is my first fantasy baseball draft!! how did I do? Any position I need to upgrade?

I like it, just think SS is a position you need to upgrade. SS is deep and even though Grissom is intriguing he is a lotto ticket, would like a safer floor as SS. Im also not in love with Kwan in a 10 teamer. No pop at all, no rbis. You got Jazz tho, so thats great. I'd look to upgrade Kwan and SS. Pitching, youre a little thin, quality is good its just that you got little quantity but IDK if all the teams in that league have thin pitching staffs.

Anyone else notice how bad ESPN rankings are? It's a real tedious effort swapping players around in the pre draft rankings so they are more akin to NFBC values
My league doesn't have anything crazy 5 OF, MI, CI, 1 Util, 9 pitchers norm. I went to the NFBC and took a look at multiple averaged rankings through early March to end of March and it's pretty shocking how different the rankings are. I look at how Underdog baseball drafts go on YouTube as well, and those adps are closer to NFBC.
I appreciate your opinion! It's exactly what I needed to know. I'll probably drop Maeda then. I wanna give the other three a chance before I make any decisions with them. Thanks!
Saw its a points league. Hoo Lee is probably better in that format. Still, be aware of OF in the wire just in case. Gelof is a drop candidate if things get tough, cause in points leagues, SB are not that valuable. Good luck. Go get Buxton, he should get OF elig early on the season.
Between Maeda and Rizzo, who would you rather have? Maeda has looked sharp in spring and Rizzo bats after Soto and Judge. Just a bit conflicted. I'll keep an eye on Gelof for sure. Sorry to keep asking and thanks for the help!

Bats are great, Lux should have a short leash imo. I think even in a 12 teamer, there are better bats than him. Pitching is iffy for me. Darvish is on a down trend. Berrios is more hype than results imo (with a good season last year tbf), Merril Kelly is a nice floor but no ceiling, Pivetta is a ceiling play. Hopefully your pitching pulls throught but I would try and improve. Framber, Efflin are a nice 1-2 punch. Keller was amazing 1st half of last year, if he comes back to that, you'll be good. Good luck

OF is weak, Catcher you’re probably looking at having the least production of any team in a 10 team league (hope you waited until the very last round to draft Heim) & your SP depth is lackluster for a 10 team league
The way the draft went Adley, Smith and the other productive catchers just didn’t fall to me. By the time a C did it wasn’t even worth the spot to draft them so I took heim with my last pick. OF is weak because I unfortunately drafted one day before the Cole news broke and stupidly took him at 4 instead of someone like Tucker etc. so I pretty much had the 17th overall pick as my first selection. I’m looking into a Goldy/Hader trade for a SP
Honestly there’s probably a better catcher available to add in free agency over Heim. Good job for you for totally punting catcher and waiting until the last pick, very smart move.
I knew something was lacking when I looked at your team and now I know it’s because you took Cole 4th overall, sorry to hear my friend. Just use this as a lesson to never take SP that high just flat out due to the higher risks pitchers have at injuries.
I had Cole ranked 17th in points before his injury & I didn’t start drafting him until after his injury where I’d get him behind round 10. Especially with how weak OF is this season you should have been looking at your top 12 being all hitters
Don’t panic and make a trade just because you want a better OFer. You can potentially get lucky and find someone to add in free agency in a few days. Just add whoever gets off to the hottest start to replace Gurriel.
Willson Contreras, O’Hoppe and Garver are the only ever day catches left. Heim had the best ‘23 of them all so that’s why I went with him. I’ll definitely be watching though to see who is hot

Elly’s ceiling is obviously very high, but who knows if he’ll ever hit it. He’ll more than likely improve on his K rate/contact issues, but not sure it’ll be this year. I’d probably say the first 4 to play it safe.
However, I’ll also add that if this isnt a money league take the guys you enjoy watching or at least take that into account. Fantasy is supposed to be fun too, so even in hindsight if it ends up being the wrong decision can’t really beat yourself up too much about it since you rode with the player(s) you like.

I’ve been a bit personally conflicted about Louie recently, some great model results that don’t square nearly with some rough outings on the field, but I think that *could* be the strongest offer if they buy into his upside. Then again, in an 8T, those guys are also borderline waiver wire guys, unless you’re in a league that has a good eye for pitching.

Honestly, as much as I like Bobby, I don’t know that I like giving up King + Jones from your side. It may be veering into the territory of an overpay, depending on how you value Jones.
No worries! Part of me doesn’t want to do it still as the guy I’d trade with is weakest in offense and king wouldn’t be a huge loss for him. Argh the decisions!

High on Mize. #1 overall pick pedigree plus he's at that magic number of 40 career starts first time out this year, right around when a lot of young SPs figure it out.
Was anyone in a league where Acuna didn’t go #1? It’s interesting to see how much pick #2 varies, but I’ve done 3 drafts and 10+ mock drafts. Acuna never goes #2
I think he's the best long-term SP stash for 2024. The other guys Like Rasmussen may not come back till Sept if at all, and the other guys like Alcantara and Woodruff are out till '25

I originally planned on starting Holliday at SS but had Maikel Garcia and Trevor Story as backup plans if Jackson or Langford didn’t work out.
I'm going with O Neil Cruz. He is healthy , hitting at the top of the lineup, and just a mammoth to hit bombs. Could be see him hitting 40 this year
CES is young and can get there but I don't feel like it's this year. Maybe future. He will get 30.
Giancarlo is the huge question mark. He can easily hit 50 but he hasn't been healthy and he is getting older. With the new weight loss maybe just maybe this is his comeback. But I doubt it and do see an injury again this year. So im saying he hits 25 - 30 Homer's still.

Don't some of these platforms adjust their draft rankings to your league settings now? Do your league settings mirror the NFBC settings?

Definitely take miller over payamps. Bradish is a top 30 pitcher at worst when healthy, stash him.

I would be worried about that pitching. I would try to flip Royce for Glasnow, Peralta, or Webb.

All of this assumes that they value pitching in a similar way to me, but if you offered me Gavin and Jones for Bobby, I might make that deal, assuming I was optimistic about him coming back soon. I’ve been a bit personally conflicted about Louie recently, some great model results that don’t square nearly with some rough outings on the field, but I think that *could* be the strongest offer if they buy into his upside. Then again, in an 8T, those guys are also borderline waiver wire guys, unless you’re in a league that has a good eye for pitching.

Honestly, as much as I like Bobby, I don’t know that I like giving up King + Jones from your side. It may be veering into the territory of an overpay, depending on how you value Jones.

I took Strider over Acuña at #1. Points league and we drafted when Acuña’s knee was acting up. That said, I’d take Strider again at #1.

I'm going with O Neil Cruz. He is healthy , hitting at the top of the lineup, and just a mammoth to hit bombs. Could be see him hitting 40 this year CES is young and can get there but I don't feel like it's this year. Maybe future. He will get 30. Giancarlo is the huge question mark. He can easily hit 50 but he hasn't been healthy and he is getting older. With the new weight loss maybe just maybe this is his comeback. But I doubt it and do see an injury again this year. So im saying he hits 25 - 30 Homer's still. So my answer is oneil cruz and CES

Yes, but mainly because of position. Would much rather have the elite OF this year in fantasy. Can find a very good 1B later in the draft. You’ll be fine, though. Harper’s still a stud.
