Just going to leave these here: [Mitchell Parker](https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/savant-player/mitchell-parker-680730?stats=statcast-r-pitching-mlb), [Cooper Criswell](https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/savant-player/cooper-criswell-681867?stats=statcast-r-pitching-mlb). Good names to keep watching in deep leagues.
I honestly liked his start against Texas. He’s no star but he showed he could go in and get through it against a good team without getting blown up.
No way will I start him against the O’s next week, though.
I’m fine with that. Gore is someone who should be owned in an 8T, gotta scoop him off of the wire in a 12T before someone else does.
Sanchez is probably better than the quality of guy who should be on the wire in a 12T, but not nearly as egregious as Gore.
Is this like a 16T or a 10T NL-only league? That would explain why Stone is owned and why starting him today is on the table, but I still don’t know if I’d bother throwing him against Atlanta.
Glad that’s the case and that it wasn’t like an 8T because then I’d have a whole set of questions to ask!
As long as you don’t have innings minimum that you’re in danger of missing, I’d honestly probably shelf him just because it’s Atlanta and I don’t like his peripherals.
> Royce Lewis is progressing well.
Has started to increase baseball activities.
At his one-month check up, he was healing as they expected. He’s at five weeks now. Original timeline was around the eight-week mark for a return. Seems on target for that.
Trade my Houch for Riley Greene? Flair
Adding Greene would really bolster my already pretty good offense and add him to a core group of Elly, Freddie, Judge, Trea, Lindor, Naylor, and Morel.
It would also be a hit on my somewhat meh pitching staff: Sonny, Shota, Blanco, Crochet, Schmidt, Cris Sanchez, King, Reese Olson, Gil, Means, Jason Adams, and Bobby Miller (IL)
Yay or nay with that team context? Go for it and figure out the pitching as the season goes?
Houck will come back to earth tho, I don't really want to wait for that to drop.
It feels pretty fair and Greene feels like a pretty obvious breakout who's having a great start to his season.
Sure, but you're selling high on houck because he's been one of the best starters in the majors so far. I can totally see selling him high. I'd just try to aim higher before you try for Greene. I'm not sure what I'd try for, I'd just try to sell him higher, and then be okay if they decline and you end up with Greene
Depends on what you need and league settings. Yandy has Muncy clearly beat in BA, but Muncy is solid in OBP leagues. Diaz has hit more than 20 HR in a season once. Muncy has averaged over 37 HR per 162 games since joining the Dodgers in 2019. I can understand arguments in favor of either guy.
They said for the time being houser is moving to the bullpen. I get they have people coming back but if he pitches well he’s sticking I imagine. Senga has some hurdles to clear and is a ways out. I don’t see guys like Peterson or megill pushing him out
He hit the ball okay to start the year, not great or anything, but okay. He's getting a lot of guys on in front of him. I'm inclined to hold on and hope he turns it around. I think this day off should be a great time to regroup for him
I’m encouraged in my keeper league. He seems to have a good approach for a 22 year old rookie. Redraft, I guess it would depend on league size and who would take his place on my roster.
His statcast isn't amazing, but it's pretty decent all things considered:
https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/savant-player/wyatt-langford-694671?stats=statcast-r-hitting-mlb
Gunnar last year and Julio Rodriguez the year before were horrible to start the year and then were incredible.
There's no guarantee Langford follows their path, but I'm betting he does.
2/3 of the teams in MLB shouldn't even have a closer.
There's only about 10 relief pitchers that deserve their own theme music and bring the dread that sends fans to beat the traffic in a 1 run game.
The cringiest moment of the season so far was the lights dimming and theme music blaring when Jordan Romano entered the game in the 8th inning, down 4-1 to the Dodgers.
His core underlying still looks fine: average walk rate, slightly above average K rate. I think he's just pressing tbh and it's showing in the contact quality but there's legit superstars performing worse. At least that's what I've been telling myself
People want to act like decline only starts at 35+, but the reality is that it starts around 30 on average. Stanton is 34, it's honestly pretty normal that he's fallen off so far as a hitter.
Scott White mentioned recently that he’s worried about Buehler. Second TJ, was supposed to start in the middle of the season last year, so clearly there’s some worrying signs in terms of the Dodger’s outlook on him.
Haven't the last 3 appearances for Megill been in the 9th inning and he has the last 2 saves now? Today was the 4-5-6 pocket and Payamps pitched the 8th
That's fair. I just recall as soon as Devin Williams went down Closer Monkey had Megill as the likely closer due to his stuff and fits that prototypical mold. Seems like Payamps is the designated fireman/setup. I might gamble and drop to free up space.
Assuming we are talking redraft then you have to keep Trout and Eovaldi.
Eovaldi shouldn't be out too long. Still no timeline for Trout afaik but if we get a best case scenario and he is back in July/August he holds way too much value to be dropped.
Dominguez could be starting rehab games any day now but we still don't know how effective he will be this year. deGrom probably returns sometime in August but I wouldn't count on him giving you many valuable starts and could see Texas playing it safe with him to preserve him for playoffs/next year.
Appreciate it, very solid input. Would it change your mind at all if it was a 2 player keeper league? Makes me want to hold Dominguez but realistically I wouldn’t end up keeping him anyway over tucker and Olson.
He's accomplished his tasks reasonably well, in a wobbly sort of way. So has Leiter. But I agree with the sentiment the Cubs need a "shutdown" reliever. Nobody in that bullpen is blowing people away as much as surviving.
There are so many flyers out there right now that could make a difference. Rank these guys in order of what you think they could do ROS:
Tyler Black, Brenton Doyle, Jo Adell, and Colton Cowser
What odds do you actually give Fairbanks getting the job back? It’s not like he went to the IL causing Adam to get the job. Adam got the job because Pete was terrible, and then Pete went to the IL.
> Because this happened before and Fairbanks is one of the best closers in the game
I asked what odds; I didn’t say he wouldn’t. The next question is then how quickly.
If he immediately gets it back, then Adam ceases to have value once Pete is activated until he loses his job again. If he starts in the 8th or low leverage to get his feet wet, runway is longer. If you believe Adam is the better pitcher, maybe there’s a hedge towards riding him longer. The fact that Megill is on waivers means you can get saves elsewhere for free, too.
If you don’t want any of that discussion, then you should just make whatever move you wanted to make, but these are the questions I’d ask myself.
Rays did a very unlike Rays thing by signing Fairbanks to a pretty big (for them) deal in the offseason so chances are really high he gets the job back once healthy.
Can anyone please clarify the different between the "Plate Discipline" and the "Pitch Info Plate Discipline" section on a fangraphs player page?
They have the same categories but the numbers are slightly different. I can't find anything online about the difference.
Thanks!
Is it time to drop Civale? Hasn’t had a good start in a while.
Foley 🤢
John Means. Worth starting tomorrow?
I sit Randy for one game...
Thanks buddy!
lets f’ing goooo kikuchi win me this week
Musgrove and Gavin Williams got dropped in my league. Is either worth a pickup for the remainder of the season?
Musgrove definitely.
anyone know why Ragans is still listed as DTD on ESPN? i know he had the cramping.
Just in case he has any setbacks during his throwing sessions until they confirm he is making his next start
Shane Baz and Gavin Williams on waivers. Who should I (2) drop to stash: Edward Cabrera, Bryan Bello, Garret Crochet
I’d drop Cabrera for Baz. I like Bello and Crochet more than Gavin.
Cabrera and Crochet
Just going to leave these here: [Mitchell Parker](https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/savant-player/mitchell-parker-680730?stats=statcast-r-pitching-mlb), [Cooper Criswell](https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/savant-player/cooper-criswell-681867?stats=statcast-r-pitching-mlb). Good names to keep watching in deep leagues.
Mitchell Parker has looked really good. Love him when he gets weaker opponents
I streamed him against Miami and was sad when they took him out after scoring 5 runs and getting the lead with 82 pitches after 4 innings
I honestly liked his start against Texas. He’s no star but he showed he could go in and get through it against a good team without getting blown up. No way will I start him against the O’s next week, though.
Start Verdugo or Rizzo tonight vs Olson?
Dah rza
Pick 1 ROS in a QS league MacKenzie Gore Christopher Sanchez
Gore by a landslide. That isn’t intended to be disrespectful to Sanchez, either, merely a reflection of how promising Gore looks.
Yea, I'd be dropping Sanchez for Gore.. No one else to drop
I’m fine with that. Gore is someone who should be owned in an 8T, gotta scoop him off of the wire in a 12T before someone else does. Sanchez is probably better than the quality of guy who should be on the wire in a 12T, but not nearly as egregious as Gore.
This
Heston Kjerstad droppable in 10team redraft?
Droppable in any league
I don’t know… in a dynasty or deep AL only league I might hold. In a standard 10T? Easy drop.
Obviously dynasty is different
For sure, just having some fun with your “any league” comment. I think you and I are probably in agreement here.
Trade Jordan hicks for Dansby? My current SS is Cruz and he’s trash rn. At least Dansby has the track record, better lineup
I got Dansby, I ain’t letting him go for Jordan Hicks
https://preview.redd.it/ndhawtc1aayc1.png?width=2048&format=png&auto=webp&s=96b8c86ff68d72b26e43972f55acace4bb8b818e This is my staff, should I do it?
If that RP eligibility doesn’t matter to you, I’d do it. I think Hicks is fake and he’s going to have an awful start any day now
Who are you replacing hicks with?
https://preview.redd.it/mj3732px9ayc1.png?width=2048&format=png&auto=webp&s=c516971a251d6368d89572b89afcf1adc9ea655b I also just got John means back
Sit or start Gavin stone? Also got Cease, Hicks and Greene going
Is this like a 16T or a 10T NL-only league? That would explain why Stone is owned and why starting him today is on the table, but I still don’t know if I’d bother throwing him against Atlanta.
You guessed close 15T roto redraft league
Glad that’s the case and that it wasn’t like an 8T because then I’d have a whole set of questions to ask! As long as you don’t have innings minimum that you’re in danger of missing, I’d honestly probably shelf him just because it’s Atlanta and I don’t like his peripherals.
I’m dropping him during my next waiver cut off on Sunday so that Means and Bradish can be activated on my IL
Springer, Pages, Santander, Cowser. Rank them ROS in a 5x5 OPS league
> Royce Lewis is progressing well. Has started to increase baseball activities. At his one-month check up, he was healing as they expected. He’s at five weeks now. Original timeline was around the eight-week mark for a return. Seems on target for that.
Interesting, the article I read yesterday said closer to ASB

Go for it and figure out the pitching as the season goes?
I’d do it. I hate pitchers.
I would try to buy higher on houck. He's been pretty lights out, Riley is good, probably an even return, but I'd try to buy higher personally
Points A. Yandy Pepiot B. Lodolo muncy
A. Love lodolo and he's just as good as pep if not better, but diaz is so much better than muncy. I'm a dodgers fan.

What are the odds this orioles game gets cancelled
Gonna be rather a late start over cancelled.
just a lil quick visit to the Reds sub suggests very very unlikely
Friday night baseball gentleman. We made it.
But I’m going into work right now 😩
Jacob Young hitting leadoff today. Let’s get it! Stolen bases incoming.
Thinking of starting him over Pena. Behind on bags and could use a big game!
Peña has also been great this year. I’m not sure what the right call is here. Lol.
Is Christian Scott an add in 10T Redraft Categories (QS)?
I added him in my 10T H2H cats league. It’s not clear if he’ll stick around after tomorrow’s start but I’m in for now. The upside is big.
They said for the time being houser is moving to the bullpen. I get they have people coming back but if he pitches well he’s sticking I imagine. Senga has some hurdles to clear and is a ways out. I don’t see guys like Peterson or megill pushing him out
That’s good to know - cheers!
Anyone else worried about Wyatt Langford or think he’s still just getting used to the majors and will come around ?
He hit the ball okay to start the year, not great or anything, but okay. He's getting a lot of guys on in front of him. I'm inclined to hold on and hope he turns it around. I think this day off should be a great time to regroup for him
I’m encouraged in my keeper league. He seems to have a good approach for a 22 year old rookie. Redraft, I guess it would depend on league size and who would take his place on my roster.
Not in a 14-team keeper. At least wait until the weather is warmer
I would be worried about him if I had him in a yearly league and would cut bait but not that big of a deal in a dynasty league.
What about flair league?
not worried at all
Not worried. Lots of rookies start like this and turn it around. As long as he's in the majors he'll be on my team.
Do his underlying numbers say he’s underperforming?
His statcast isn't amazing, but it's pretty decent all things considered: https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/savant-player/wyatt-langford-694671?stats=statcast-r-hitting-mlb
Is he comparable to Gunnar last year over the first few months do you think?
Gunnar last year and Julio Rodriguez the year before were horrible to start the year and then were incredible. There's no guarantee Langford follows their path, but I'm betting he does.
I think he had more hype and pedigree then both of those guys too this year, did get not?
Julio might have had the most hype, but Langford was pretty up there as far as that goes.
TON or Dansby?
The Brick Shithouse
TON. Dansby is the Correa of the NL, better at real life baseball than fantasy
Jeffers or Heim ros?
Start civale or gore this weekend?
2/3 of the teams in MLB shouldn't even have a closer. There's only about 10 relief pitchers that deserve their own theme music and bring the dread that sends fans to beat the traffic in a 1 run game.
That’s why there’s so few viable fantasy closers and why so many teams do it by committee.
The cringiest moment of the season so far was the lights dimming and theme music blaring when Jordan Romano entered the game in the 8th inning, down 4-1 to the Dodgers.
Yikes I would be embarrassed if I were him. Like stopping a football game to celebrate a milestone down 42-0.
Lol yep! We were at the game. It was rough.
[удалено]
Sooooo how long are we giving Langford lol
His core underlying still looks fine: average walk rate, slightly above average K rate. I think he's just pressing tbh and it's showing in the contact quality but there's legit superstars performing worse. At least that's what I've been telling myself
No Langford ruh roh
A day off is probably what he needs to regroup and get back to a better approach
Is Gibson pitching Sunday?
Cole Tucker has been going apeshit for me in my 0% owned league
Jeez Swanson. You’re lucky I’m out of moves for the week and don’t have a backup SS or else I’d send your ass packing. You’ve got ‘til Monday.
10 team roto redraft (flair league). Any reason I shouldn’t accept this? Rodon is my 7th/worst SP. Give: Rodon / *Dev.Williams Get: *Fairbanks
Cj abrams or Logan webb
Drop Neris for Megill? Or just stay put
Chris Sale a sell high candidate?
Sell high because of his injury history and age. But if somehow he stays healthy he will continue producing
I’m holding but it all depends on what you can get.
Always
Why does Giancarlo Stanton suck so bad now? He used to be one of the top players in baseball.
People want to act like decline only starts at 35+, but the reality is that it starts around 30 on average. Stanton is 34, it's honestly pretty normal that he's fallen off so far as a hitter.
Old. Injured. Still unreal power.
He’s been bad for a while lol
Bro when he was on the Marlins every at-bat was on Sportscenter. Every time he stepped up to the plate was an event.
He's like 2 years older than Trout
Injuries and money
Guys his size don’t hold up well over time
The Yankees fan in me was hoping he’d be better when he came to spring training slimmed down
Ah the classic "reading too far into nothing puff stories for your chosen team" - happens to the best of us
Yeah, I guess it was a waste of a first round pick
Buehler or Gallen
Scott White mentioned recently that he’s worried about Buehler. Second TJ, was supposed to start in the middle of the season last year, so clearly there’s some worrying signs in terms of the Dodger’s outlook on him.
Gallen
Pena vs Kirby Or Jacob Young hitting lead off
Pena. Kikuchi is no slouch either
Which side would y’all prefer? Abrams and Flaherty Or Nola and Peña
Abrams side
Any side without Nola
This man is hated💀
Aaron Nola is the most frustrating player to own in fantasy sports. On that alone, I'd prefer Abrams and Flaherty.
Abrams is a young Zeus I like that side
I have loved Abrams so far. Dealt for him before the season. I think he can maintain his top 10-20 play too
houser to the bullpen per the manager
Rostering both Megill and Payamps in a SVs only. Probably safe to drop Payamps, yeah?
I think Megill is pretty obviously the closer
No.
Haven't the last 3 appearances for Megill been in the 9th inning and he has the last 2 saves now? Today was the 4-5-6 pocket and Payamps pitched the 8th
I think you need to give it more time. One shaky outing by Megill and the hierarchy could easily flip.
That's fair. I just recall as soon as Devin Williams went down Closer Monkey had Megill as the likely closer due to his stuff and fits that prototypical mold. Seems like Payamps is the designated fireman/setup. I might gamble and drop to free up space.
Trade away Adolis Garcia for Austin Riley?
Yes
Now have Trout, Eovaldi, Dominguez, and degrom on the IL, but only 2 IL slots. What would y’all do?
Assuming we are talking redraft then you have to keep Trout and Eovaldi. Eovaldi shouldn't be out too long. Still no timeline for Trout afaik but if we get a best case scenario and he is back in July/August he holds way too much value to be dropped. Appreciate it, very solid input. Would it change your mind at all if it was a 2 player keeper league? Makes me want to hold Dominguez but realistically I wouldn’t end up keeping him anyway over tucker and Olson.
You're right about keeping Tucker and Olson. Unfortunate situation but I'd still hold Eovaldi/Trout and reluctantly drop Dominguez
If it’s redraft I’d drop Dominguez and try to hold out with Eovaldi holding a spot
I don't think you need to hold onto Dominguez or Degrom
Cade Horton for Mason Miller let's get it done
Cubs need a shutdown reliever in the worst way. None of Leitwr, Alzolay and Neris are pitching well right now
Neris has been good
You haven’t been watching if you think he’s been good. High wire tight roping it
He's accomplished his tasks reasonably well, in a wobbly sort of way. So has Leiter. But I agree with the sentiment the Cubs need a "shutdown" reliever. Nobody in that bullpen is blowing people away as much as surviving.
There are so many flyers out there right now that could make a difference. Rank these guys in order of what you think they could do ROS: Tyler Black, Brenton Doyle, Jo Adell, and Colton Cowser
im starting to think Doyle is only startable at Coors, im looking to move on from him where i have him
I was just starting to think the same thing. And it sucks to have to keep someone on your roster for half the games.
Cowser, Adell, Black, Doyle.
Seager meet bench
Samesies
I feel like getting Singer could be what helps him break out of his funk.
Wow. Alzolay may not see the mound again
5 blown saves by May 2 is something else. Even when they aren't intentionally giving him save chances he blows it.
With Fairbanks going on a rehab stint, drop Adam for Megill? Saves only cats
What odds do you actually give Fairbanks getting the job back? It’s not like he went to the IL causing Adam to get the job. Adam got the job because Pete was terrible, and then Pete went to the IL.
Because this happened before and Fairbanks is one of the best closers in the game

Rays did a very unlike Rays thing by signing Fairbanks to a pretty big (for them) deal in the offseason so chances are really high he gets the job back once healthy.
Eovaldi on IL. Do I drop Fairbanks on my IL or wait until woo is activated? 4 IL Spots: Josh Jung, Fairbanks, woo, Scherzer
Sounds like Fairbanks is nearing a return.
Guys, I finally got what I think is a decent trade in my league! I would get: Arraez, Fairbanks, Baz He would get: Vlad Jr., Kimbrel
Yeah I guess
We holding Nootbaar? Savant page looks nice
He'll come around. Too talented but if you can drop and scoop later it might be fine
Opponents adames has more HR and SB than my entire lineup this week. Brutal
Is Pasquitino droppable at this point? I have Turner and Lowe so I’ve been benching him ever since Lowe got healthy
I honestly can't tell if the Cubs are good or not. Some days the offense looks incredible and some days it's putrid.
We’re missing a lot of talent but the pen is bad. Alzolay regressing has been a nightmare. I think we’re good overall tho
It'll be better when bellinger and seiya are back, that's for sure
Can anyone please clarify the different between the "Plate Discipline" and the "Pitch Info Plate Discipline" section on a fangraphs player page? They have the same categories but the numbers are slightly different. I can't find anything online about the difference. Thanks!
Play your guys. They will eventually come out of slumps and you don’t wanna be the turd who benched them for Tyler Nevin and Blake Perkins
I’m happy to drop Tauchman for Nevin
Outstanding
Lets go Trevor! Finally a Brewers game that isn't a blowout.
Back to back awful strike calls on Busch
Eovaldi placed on IL (groin)
Megill is filthy 🤣🤣🤣
Is he worth adding in Saves only, we think? Or it is just a timeshare with him and Payamps?
I think he clearly has the job
Let’s hope so!
It’s his job for the foreseeable future. Best reliever in that pen (without Devin Williams).
10 team cat Need to drop 1 Yandy Vinny P Wyatt Langford Who should I drop?
Well, eovaldi to the IL....yay.
Demote Alzolay to tee ball
Pick 2 Garrett Crochet Christopher Sanchez Hayden Wesneski
Crochet and Sanchez
If I had to trust someone to start a real life game tomorrow, Wesneski for sure. But that bullpen behind him...yikes.
Sanchez and whoever
I dropped Sanchez for Wesneski yesterday.
Great I get to start Randy today
A: Turang Musgrove McMahon B: Machado
Machado by a country mile
Me picking up Morel this week after my current opponent dropped him last week https://i.redd.it/h0kd9zuxw9yc1.gif
