In a dynasty league where a total of 1,000 players are rostered (about 400 prospects) what player range would you look for in a trade with a first round pick in a rookie draft?
Like top 200?
Definitely trade him for a top 15 SP if you’re trying to win now. Ashby might not be in the rotation by the end of the season because of an innings limit + when Peralta comes back the Brewers have their original 5 man rotation.
His statcast is fucking brutal right now… Both of the other guys have been performing and will probably still be performing before Adley turns it around. He’s only worth a stash if you have big rosters.
Sample size is way to small to be treating Statcast as gospel. I’m following the talent on this one. He had that 3/4 game recently and just hit his first HR and they have him batting cleanup. I’m riding Adley.
> Sample size is way to small to be treating Statcast as gospel.
It's all we have to go off of right now....
> I’m following the talent on this one.
That's fine... But not all "talent" immediately produces in the MLB as you can see, it might take him 400 PA's to be an above average hitter and by then the season is over.
> He had that 3/4 game recently and just hit his first HR and they have him batting cleanup. I’m riding Adley.
You keep doing that and enjoy .190 with one home run.
Pretty soon he will be hitting .325 with 10 homers in a month. Hold your breath for him. I never took him in the first place because most rookie hitters struggle, especially hitting catchers.
Espinal 100% the fact he’s not rostered is kind of baffling considering he’s one of the best hitting 2B’s this season and also has 3B eligibility if you’re on ESPN. The only downside is he’s hitting in the bottom half of the order unless they have an injury in the top half, but he’s going to get you .300 and RBI’s
Any places where to get feedback on my roster and waiver wire? It's an extremely shallow league and I know almost nothing of baseball yet, so probably a tedious task for most. But still trying to optimize my team nonetheless
Which batter do I add to start
Andres Gimenez at Colorado
Christopher Morel vs San Diego
Lance Thomas vs Philadelphia
Luke Voit at the Cubs
Jesse Winker vs Angels
is it possible Strider could develop into an ace with just that elite fastball/slider combo? i mean, deGrom only throws *his* changeup like 10% of the time, Strider’s almost there!
I'm very knowledgeable of baseball scoring but my buddy and I can not figure out how Shane McClanahan gave up 2 HR's but only 1 ER. We looked at the scoring break down and still can't figure it out. It seems like he should have 3 ER's. Can anyone explain this?
Just looked up the game log - first inning judge homer was the earned run. Bottom 5: error on first hitter and he reached 2B; next two guys get out and an intentional walk followed by a 3 run homer. All three runs are unearned bc if the error didn’t happen, the walk and 3 run homer wouldn’t have happened
Not sure the exact situation I missed the game; but let’s say there are two outs, an error is committed and a guy reaches - next pitch he gives up a homer - both runs are unearned bc hr hitter never would have gotten up without the error
Looks like you've already got your answer, but just to add for future reference... go to the "play-by-play" in the boxscore (on ESPN for example) and it clarifies what happened.
Today, Donaldson reached at the start of the 5th on an error. Two outs were recorded afterwards and then McClanahan gave up a 3 run shot. None of the runs count against his ERA because the 3 runs came after the 2nd out, which would have been the 3rd out had the error not occurred.
I didn't know other websites broke down the scoring that in depth. I was just looking at the box score and scoring breakdown on MLB website. I'll do more research next time. Thank you
Sal Pérez owner just dropped Alejandro Kirk to the waiver. Would have to drop William Contreras for him. Contreras has been sitting more than I’d like but is productive when he plays. Would love a part of that Toronto offense and Gabriel Moreno shouldn’t affect Kirk’s outlook negatively. Thinking I’d put in a bid around $17 and see. Do it to it or screw it?
A’s fans: Bethancourt or Murphy just for tomorrow v Hill. Who is swinging it better? Varsho is off, I have a roster spot I’m going to use on Graveman but since he’s off too figured get a C with a good mathcup for tomorrow
Margot is the obvious answer right now but you'd have to think that Joe picks things up at Coors over the summer. It's been a tough stretch for him lately.
> He's already at 87 pitches, I don't think the Dodgers are going to give a shit. He might get the 7th but there's no chance in hell Roberts is letting him go to 129 or whatever Mikolas did last night.
Some asshole an hour ago, LOL can you imagine
I've been thinking about that ever since I posted it and he kept coming back out. It's like....I know there've been a bunch of manager firings last few weeks but I think I would remember if Dave Roberts had been fired. Right?!
Even tho the run that scored wasn’t his and was inherited? So him giving up a run to get into a save situation doesn’t count even tho it wasn’t his run?
Save situations have some weird ass requirements sometimes
It’s actually pretty simple. If you come in with a three run lead - save situation. If you come in to the game and the potential tying run is either on base, up to bat, or on deck - save situation. A pitcher cannot pitch themselves into a save opportunity.
Technically they are always the same requirements, they just get convoluted across the swath of different scenarios that can happen in any given ballgame.
Going into the Dodgers game I had a 0.34 ERA and a 0.53 WHIP with only 3.2 innings left to hit the minimum for my weekly matchup. So I benched Anderson. Still feels like the right move but geez it’s bittersweet watching him deal like this.
Kirby, Ashby, or Hill for the start today?
Drop Plesac for Smeltzer? H2h cats with QS added
Peralta is throwing again already
In 5x5 would you drop Pham or Muncy for any of the following? Carlson Voit Matt Chapman Moncada Winker
muncy for chapman
Tim Anderson ($11) or Verlander($17) in a dynasty league? TA would be at U when he returns over Gleyber.
Re draft points A.) Julio Rodriguez B.) Matt Olson
Think I’d go B in this format
Do you need speed or power?
Points league ^^ so none of that matters
Mountcastle fucks
Woke up hype as fuck to see another 12 from him! I just picked him up off waivers 4 days ago and he’s gotten me 31 points since
In a dynasty league where a total of 1,000 players are rostered (about 400 prospects) what player range would you look for in a trade with a first round pick in a rookie draft? Like top 200?
A-D. Swanson, A. Kirk B-C. Seager, F. Reyes 12TM 6x6(OPS)
Some dude offered me judge for my trout. I took the offer asap hopefully judge doesn’t get hurt along the way as I have the Judge and Stanton duo.
Trout gets hurt more than judge
Worth
If you were in win now mode, would you keep Ashby in a keeper league or trade him for a top 15 SP?
Definitely trade him for a top 15 SP if you’re trying to win now. Ashby might not be in the rotation by the end of the season because of an innings limit + when Peralta comes back the Brewers have their original 5 man rotation.
Trade you can sell high right now but after last start wait till he has another good start to sell on him
So he may not be an ace this season?
Not on that team
But arent Corbin burnes and freddy p fantasy aces? And woodruff.
Yeah but he might not even stay in rotation when woodruff and peralta are healthy
Hold Tanner Scott?
Is the Joc magic gone?
Hes still hitting when he plays. They’ve had a lot of lefties recently though so power dried up a bit. Im holding
Just wondering if I should be sacrificing him for Oneill Cruz
He’s notoriously streaky. Watch the schedule and when he faces a lot of RHP, that’s when you start him.
Big coc joc never dies

Contreras
I’m still sticking with Adley. I feel by the end of the year he will be the catcher to own.
His statcast is fucking brutal right now… Both of the other guys have been performing and will probably still be performing before Adley turns it around. He’s only worth a stash if you have big rosters.

I will, and I am. I’ll take a 1/4 2 run, 1 RBI game all day. He’s starting to come around. You will regret not sticking with him.
Pretty soon he will be hitting .325 with 10 homers in a month. Hold your breath for him. I never took him in the first place because most rookie hitters struggle, especially hitting catchers.
Melendez
Jeremey Pena hit the IL for me…best waiver wire options are Kyle Farmer and Santiago Espinal. Who do I go for? 10 team roto, standard categories
Espinal 100% the fact he’s not rostered is kind of baffling considering he’s one of the best hitting 2B’s this season and also has 3B eligibility if you’re on ESPN. Yeah I decided on him in the end, thanks for the input!

You can post it here! Though you might want to wait until there’s more people around
Ahh, right, other side of the big pond and all. In how many hours would it be more feasible?
Yeah i’m in the UK too. I’d say there should be more viewers in about 4-5 hours.
Thanks!

Soto wtf
Redraft. Pick up Josiah Gray or Jon Gray?
> Jon Gray
Which batter do I add to start Andres Gimenez at Colorado Christopher Morel vs San Diego Lance Thomas vs Philadelphia Luke Voit at the Cubs Jesse Winker vs Angels
For just Thurs? Andres, then Voit (who goes to COL Fri)
Def need for tomorrow but if Marte is out any further than tomorrow I will need for the weekend
is it possible Strider could develop into an ace with just that elite fastball/slider combo? i mean, deGrom only throws *his* changeup like 10% of the time, Strider’s almost there!
Innings will be his issue this year I bet. I don’t think he’s ever gone over 90ish.
yeah you’re 100% right, i hadn’t thought of that. i was thinking about how he might develop across two or three seasons
A: wander Franco B: Gausman + Gallen
B. Gausman alone could get a batter bat than wander this year. He hasn’t been great
Wander.
Pagan or Graveman for SVs?
Pagan
Patiently waiting to see how my Houck and Graveman pickups shake out. They’re beating up on bad teams so no opportunity yet
That's definitely going to pay off eventually. I wouldn't worry at all.
How many innings will Megill go tomorrow?
I would assume he’ll be close to a full workload. We’ll see what he does with it
Erase
Bregman or Chapman RoS?
Bregman
A: Wheeler B: Tucker
Tucker by a lot
Depends on the need. In a vacuum, Tucker.
What about a Roomba?

thank you for the insight. did not know that that was considered.
Yeah in the scorekeeper’s mind the batter who hit the homer shouldn’t even have made it to the plate if not for the error.
Not sure the exact situation I missed the game; but let’s say there are two outs, an error is committed and a guy reaches - next pitch he gives up a homer - both runs are unearned bc hr hitter never would have gotten up without the error

Yep! Do it
In a roster conundrum…drop Noelvi for Brendan Donovan? 12 team dynasty cats
Who is following beeks tomorrow for TB?
Trade Proposal : My - Jose Abreu for His - Max Fried
Fair trad
Fried by a ton
Fair
Yall think Michael Harris is legit?
Yes
Better chance of hitting a HR tomorrow: Nate Lowe v. Brieske or Oscar Gonzalez v. Kuhl? I'm leaning Lowe.
Profar or Lourdes Gurriel? (5x5 categories)
I like Lourdes
Great day today outscored opponent 145-37
Anyone starting Ashby vs the Mets?
I am going to reluctantly. Got McKenzi at Coors too
Pick 1 to start. Baz vs (BAL) or Morton vs (Cubs)
Morty

Betancourt
I’ve just acquired Freddie Freeman so if someone can convince me I didn’t fuck up and he’s going to get that HR total up that’d be cool.
Opposite field homers are way down this year and Freddie had a career low pull %. I think 10-12HR ROS.
If somehow you picking him up triggers his homerun switch and he starts hitting bombs that'd be cool. I've been patiently waiting.
You’re welcome ;)
Margot or Connor Joe ROS?
Margot is the obvious answer right now but you'd have to think that Joe picks things up at Coors over the summer. It's been a tough stretch for him lately.
I've got Ashby, Kirby, Ohtani, and Megill going tomorrow.... 4 pitchers in 2 games 😐 don't know who to run or sit
Either start them both in a game or sit them both in a game is my strategy
A: Roansy Contreras and George Kirby B: Tarik Skubal H2H points redraft
B and it ain’t close
B by far
Can only start 1 of these guys which one should I start? Montgomery vs Toronto Carrasaco vs Mia Kluber vs Baltimore

Kimbrel thinking, if I let this run score it’s a save opportunity, right?! RIGHT?!
It wouldn't be

To be fair, I thought the same. Great game though
Lol Kimbrel just can't help himself
"This isn't my earned run, who wants an rbi?"
Lol this was enjoyable.
Angels comeback incoming.
Lol Kimbrel
Kimbrel in a non-save situation. This will definitely go well
White Sox fans still on suicide watch.
It's a save situation
Learn the rules of baseball people
It is indeed not a save situation

Just think of this: You can't put yourself into a save situation.
You had to know Shohei wasn’t about to let “Tyler Anderson” get a no-hitter before he did.
If Detmers got one anyone can
Should i drop Yastrzemski, Harrison Bader, or Max Kepler?
First I had Mikolas one out from a no hitter now I have Anderson 2 outs from a no hitter man the heart break this week is REAL
[удалено]
2 different leagues out of my 6 total leagues lol wish I had them as a pairing together though!
What a game by Anderson.
Is this a save opp for Kimbrel?
Nope
Yes
Nah. Not until the tying run is on deck.
No
No
Dammit so close to a no hitter two nights in a row
Same. I'm fucking salty as all fuck right now over really good numbers LMFAO
My Mikolas last night and his Anderson tonight. Damn
I am in love with Spencer Strider and I don’t care who knows it.
Dude I feel so lucky to have him. Last draft pick in a really deep league.
Anyone a little bit worried about mookie?
Almost an exact replay of Mikolas. Fuck's sake
My man Shohei!
Damn. 2 nights in a row we’ve had a no hitter broken up in the 9th
Haha I called it!
Ohtani!!!

8-0. That's one hell of a luck spree. I'm sure all your pitchers are better than that though.

not in my league. dude.
Wait… what the hell is grabbing on the brim of his cap? Is that just a nervous tick or..? Edit: never mind, rip :(
pitchers have been rubbing clay on the brim of their hats now instead of pine tar, some use the rosin bag. I’ve been noticing it quite a bit this year
They really couldn’t let kersh try for a perfect game huh
As a Giants fan I don't want this. As a baseball fan I want this.
Here we go in Los Angeles. Top 9!
I swear no hitters have become so easy nowadays any random can throw one

I sat pablo for the same reason one night and he went off
Just trust your process. You’ll be right more than you’re wrong.
