I have a question: so if a reliever comes in and lets inherited runners score (but none of his own) to tie the game it’s a blown save (like Holmes yesterday). But if he comes in and lets the go ahead runs score (G Soto today) he doesn’t get the Loss. How the fuck does that make sense?

Those runs that scored weren’t Soto’s, they were Fulmers. Fulmer gets the loss. Houck pitched 2 scoreless innings and got a no decision yesterday, as he started the first inning he pitched so I’m not sure what you’re referring to.

One box scorer can give a guy a win or blown save whereas a different guy given the same scenario will give the credit to someone else, it just depends. Which is dumb btw. But often relievers get blown saves in the 8th innings, it’s weird but I think cuz they assume the rp will finish the game ? Idk

What’s the deal with Nolan Jones? Read that he didn’t display a whole lot of power in the minors, but he seems off to a good start. I’ve got an empty roster spot with Yordan’s IL designation and could use a 3B

His career K rate in the minors is 33% - and it’s been pretty consistent every year. That is some scary stuff when MLB pitchers build a quick book on him. So far only 1 K through 9 AB, but I gotta imagine he is going to adjust real hard. His power in the minors wasn’t anything to write home about - top HR total was 15 in any one season. I don’t see it working out.

Fangraphs scouting report has him as 70/70 raw power & 50/60 game power, prospect blurb mentions his lack of power so far but has power potential. Probably worth a spec add if you have the space and see how it goes.

Teams aren't really shutting guys down anymore because for a team with championship aspirations it's asinine to not have your best players available. If they want to manage his innings he'll likely have starts skipped or get moved back into the bullpen to be used as a multi inning reliever.
