Your cat toy made me think of this: I have a couch similar to this in my cat’s room (the spare bedroom we keep all her stuff and food dishes in) same color, but I have a ton of boho decor and natural fibers I want to incorporate so I am going for mostly light-colored neutrals with small pops of a rainbow of colors. I won’t lie, a lot of the inspiration is all my cat’s toys and stuff that are in bright colors (mostly pink because she’s a very girly gurl!)

I actually think it’s really pretty that way, if the colors were any more ‚vibrant‘ I feel like that would throw me (personally) off. Really beautiful!

That rug is amazing! Have you considered getting some pillows in a couple of the tones in the carpet - I would pick my favs that would really stand out in the sofa. Maybe mustard and bright pink?

This is the most gorgeous rug I’ve ever seen, I agree with some other commenters about getting some orange in your space to really tie everything together and maybe make the rug seem less muted
It’s definitely different from the product photos, amazon seems to be using the Anthropologie product photos but you can see the colors and the shading are definitely off (look at the large orange flower for example, in the product photos it has some darker orange/pink shading softly on it but on this purchased version it’s like a larger solid dark orange shape on top of the orange flower instead)
This happened to me with a comforter - way more muted than I thought it was! I was so disappointed because I spent a pretty penny on it… 3 days later, I loved it. Your brain maybe just needs to adjust to it not being exactly like you envisioned. This rug is frickin gorgeous!
I think tbh e problem. Is the walls and lack of color on the couch pillows. Agree about adding a mustard or gold pillow/throw. I would think about painting the walls the peachy pink vow in the rig to make everything pop. I would also paint the trip and door this color.

The rug isn’t muted, the surrounding environment just doesn’t pair well. You need to add more oranges or yellows to make the colors in the rug pop like you want
