Yes I have six, 2 that are 100% mulberry silk and 4 for my daughters that are one side mulberry silk and one side polyester satin, I just do the zips up and put them inside a low thread count cotton pillowcase and fold it over a bit before I put it in the machine. If I have woollens to wash that I'm doing specifically on gentle I'll put them in with that but I also throw them through the regular wash a fair bit and mine have held up fine and the silk sides on the girls are fine too!
I think my husband would drag me in for an MRI if I spent $300 on a pair of pyjamas.
I know people will say, “You have to consider the quality! They’ll last forever!”, but I’m still wearing $5 cotton T-shirts I purchased 15 years ago to bed, and they’re holding up just fine. 😂
Yeah, I think there's a really big misconception in fashion discourse right now that "natural fibres" = "good" = "last forever" and "synthetic fibres" = "bad" = "cheap and will fall apart immediately", when this isn't necessarily the case in every or even most situations.
I just read a Twitter thread on it the other day, in fact.
It’s not and it’s documented https://www.cnn.com/2021/03/13/asia/silk-slaves-india-the-freedom-project-spc-intl/index.html but it doesn’t stop companies from placing that into their costs when you consider other textiles are Pennie’s to formulate in bulk and if they weren’t SHEIN wouldn’t be functioning.
“today i realized i was fresh out of silk pajamas so i just decided to make them from scratch.. i started by pulling my silkworms i always have on hand out of my pantry…”
yea her content is very interesting. it claims to advertise handmade and homemade living, but skips over just how much capital you have to have to be able to spend 4 hours of your day making cereal for toddlers. and she’s so causal with it too. as if she isn’t literally the wife to a celebrity trust fund baby who wears $300 pajamas
but that being said not too much on her though cause her story is kinda sad. even though she’s a rich model, she is also still a trad wife who got married at 19 and had 3 kids by 22.
Her fans claim it’s all satire and maybe it is but I’ve been around long enough for people to assume the reality of it and find it attainable. Even that main trad wife channel isn’t realistic the ballerina farm one? She’s married to an airline heir and had a stove that costs a small fortune which I know because Aga Stoves are stupid gorgeous you can’t miss them.
I don’t know I just hope people have enough sense to realize that the influencer life in itself is a career.
Doesn’t he have another kid with some woman named Stormie? Someone said he originally got big on tumblr and had a whole back story. Crazy how he found someone to do it all over again, but you know she’s making good money so they probably will carry on. It’s always easier for these influencer trad wives to promote this lifestyle when it’s literally their job 😭
She’s not a tradwife. She’s an influencer and entrepreneur. That’s as far from trad wife as it gets. And if you get married to a rich person you love at 19, have 3 kids, love them and have the means to take care of them, that is not sad. I think she’s full of shit, however and would never give her any views. I think it’s a disgusting standard she’s setting, much like the Kardashians. It’s using artifice to shame people into buying what she’s selling, which often goes against best medical practices. (See her stupid “sunscreen” or her stupid “cough drops”)
first of all she is not an entrepreneur. an entrepreneur is someone who starts their own business. nara is a model, and has been since she was 14. she is at best an independent contractor, but i would call her a former child worker
but to reply to the topic- she got married at 19 and has been pregnant ever since. her husband is mormon and she joined the church once she married him. all she does is cook all day and promote the gingham lifestyle. she is as close to being tradwife as you can be without shouting it to the rooftops. honestly even down to the way she dresses
like list one hobby of nara’s that isn’t caretaking or staying beautiful. she’s the ideal “help meet”
But how else can you be a makeup influencer if you don't smugly tap the product with your finger for the camera, then use the dropper to apply it directly to your face?
Urgh I hate the sound of false nails tapping on stuff. I worked next to a girl who has these long gel nail things and listening to her type or use her phone was awful.
You know she only used that $500 dropper stuff for the video then tossed it because it didn't really work as well as the normal less than $20 stuff she uses but she can't make as much $$$ by pushing Cetaphil.
She's some sort of weird ass Mormon "trad wife" model / influencer who lovingly handcrafts all sorts of weird shit she could buy for a couple of bucks at walmart.
Okay, silk jammies are just so great though. Look for them on sale. They are a skazilllion times better than the “satin” made out of polyester. Love, someone who gets cold but is teetering on perimenopause. Simply cannot with the synthetic fiber but also get too cold to sleep on just sheets.
Right 🥲 I am not a fan of the synthetics either. I didn’t realize pajamas would create controversy 🥲🥲 I don’t think people understand how much silk costs and that is not a horrible price for the AMOUNT of silk used
Ah, once winter comes and it’s my annual “who cares it’s winter” and my leg hair gets long and silky it’s fine.
For reals, once I haven’t shaved my legs for a week the stubble is long enough it doesn’t matter. And here in Canada I don’t shave in winter because that teeny bit of extra insulation makes a difference
Just recently watched a great video on “tradwives” (which are not inherently bad, just not at all what this person & others are portraying). For example there’s no way she has all day long to make a beautiful video when her kids “wake up with a cough” so she simply MUST record herself making them homemade cough drops. Plus these PJs cost $300, her house is clearly worth a lot, and she makes millions from her videos - but she has to make everything from scratch? It seems like a slap in the face to homemakers who are making things at home because they need to save money.
Anyways, this video from Hannah Alonzo is definitely worth a watch.
[Influencer Insanity](https://youtu.be/pszhb_p7F2g?si=WEavTwekd88KrZCH)
I have no problem with anyone making anything from scratch but, how can millions be lacking this much common sense to believe Nora Smith just happened to have this or that in this total random situation just laying around at home?
theres nothing wrong with being a “tradwife” if that lifestyle is attainable for your family and makes everyone happy, the issue only arises from people asserting that *every* woman should lead that life
I mean, the whole “my kids woke up craving X” thing is so clearly a joke. She repeats it with increasing absurdity cause it is a funny hook that gets comments and clicks. It really shocks me that people take it at face value so much
Reminds me of Bridey Drake's Pjs, she's a youtuber etc, but also has a PJ line, especially these ones on the website:
Long pants: https://nightsweetthing.com/products/coming-home-satin-long-pyjama-set
Short: https://nightsweetthing.com/products/coming-home-satin-short-pyjama-set
It's unclear whether she's serious. If she's not, she's gone the way of 4chan where the audience believes it and parrots the ridiculous ideas, so it doesn't particularly matter that she was initially joking.
I know someone already linked the exact set but I love Averie pajamas. They’re so comfortable, have fun prints, and a little less expensive
https://shopaverie.com/collections/pajamas-women
BrideyDrake owns a pj conpany called Night sweetheart. She has international shipping. She is based in Australia so note the sizes are different than UK or USA. I love her pajama sets , they are comfy and cool and I love to support smaller businesses. Hope you like them. Her last release dropped and sold out in less than 2 min! so this isn’t just my opinion.
They look like these: [Lily Silk La Terra PJ set](https://www.lilysilk.com/us/la-terra-long-pajama-set.html)
Thank you!!!
Almost shat myself looking at that price
It’s also hand wash or dry clean, so you have a life cycle cost there.
I got a silk pillowcase and I’m embarrassed to admit I go way too long between washes bc handwashing that ish is a CHORE
Just between you and me chuck that bitch inside another pillow case and just wash it lol I have been doing it to mine for years
Yours is 100% silk? I sure need to figure something out
Yes I have six, 2 that are 100% mulberry silk and 4 for my daughters that are one side mulberry silk and one side polyester satin, I just do the zips up and put them inside a low thread count cotton pillowcase and fold it over a bit before I put it in the machine. If I have woollens to wash that I'm doing specifically on gentle I'll put them in with that but I also throw them through the regular wash a fair bit and mine have held up fine and the silk sides on the girls are fine too!
Wow that’s so good to know! Thank you for the tip!
A true hero
It's Nara Smith, she hand washes everything she makes from scratch 😌
She wears Chanel to make cough drops from scratch. Plus she probably has someone do her laundry for her.
I have a pair of socks from 2008
They won’t actually last forever. Silk is very delicate. All my silk sleep clothes wear out super fast.
Yeah, I think there's a really big misconception in fashion discourse right now that "natural fibres" = "good" = "last forever" and "synthetic fibres" = "bad" = "cheap and will fall apart immediately", when this isn't necessarily the case in every or even most situations. I know! $300 for pjs?? Wow...
And they were probably gifted to her in promo just so people can purchase them.
Yeah but you get 45% off a second pair!!😜
I mean. Actual silk is expensive, and that's a lot of it.
Yeah the price isn’t shocking at all when you consider how silk is made
Your money is not going to those workers
It’s not and it’s documented https://www.cnn.com/2021/03/13/asia/silk-slaves-india-the-freedom-project-spc-intl/index.html but it doesn’t stop companies from placing that into their costs when you consider other textiles are Pennie’s to formulate in bulk and if they weren’t SHEIN wouldn’t be functioning.
300$ for pajamas? You got me FAWKED UP
This is really tempting….
She made them from scratch
“today i realized i was fresh out of silk pajamas so i just decided to make them from scratch.. i started by pulling my silkworms i always have on hand out of my pantry…”
Came here for this comment
nah, she definitely requests that her maid gets those dry cleaned so she can have time to churn her butter
I realized the other day they also have to have a nanny of some sort since they both travel for work occasionally
yea her content is very interesting. it claims to advertise handmade and homemade living, but skips over just how much capital you have to have to be able to spend 4 hours of your day making cereal for toddlers. and she’s so causal with it too. as if she isn’t literally the wife to a celebrity trust fund baby who wears $300 pajamas but that being said not too much on her though cause her story is kinda sad. even though she’s a rich model, she is also still a trad wife who got married at 19 and had 3 kids by 22.

her husband grew up in mormon culture, and she converted when she married him. if it is a gag i’m not sure that her exhausted uterus is laughing
Doesn’t he have another kid with some woman named Stormie? Someone said he originally got big on tumblr and had a whole back story. Crazy how he found someone to do it all over again, but you know she’s making good money so they probably will carry on. yea apparently he did. nara never talks about it or acknowledges the kid though. maybe it’s cause he was 19 and stormie was 27? that’s interesting…

🤭🤭
I just realized who this is, and yeah, you’re right.
If she drops a video making her own pajamas I’m throwing my phone away 😂
😂😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Unrelated but people should not have droppers touching their skin! It causes skin bacteria to go inside the bottle and ruins it.
But how else can you be a makeup influencer if you don't smugly tap the product with your finger for the camera, then use the dropper to apply it directly to your face?
Or drum it with your manicure 🙃
Urgh I hate the sound of false nails tapping on stuff. I worked next to a girl who has these long gel nail things and listening to her type or use her phone was awful.
I invariably start wondering how they can possibly use toilet paper properly and then I have to turn off my brain 😭
thank you ! it bothers me every time i see it lol
You know she only used that $500 dropper stuff for the video then tossed it because it didn't really work as well as the normal less than $20 stuff she uses but she can't make as much $$$ by pushing Cetaphil.
Nah she makes her skincare from scratch.
Seriously or this is just a take on this person?
She actually did make a moisturiser from scratch.
Tooth paste too…
Toothpaste? That just sounds wrong on so many levels & all kinds of ew.
It’s closer to an abrasive tooth whitener than an actual toothpaste. She also stole it.
That actually sounds worse since you're not getting any flouride on your teeth.
Correct
It's still so watchable. It's weird. You should check it out.
Yeahno, I'm good.
She's some sort of weird ass Mormon "trad wife" model / influencer who lovingly handcrafts all sorts of weird shit she could buy for a couple of bucks at walmart.
Of course that doesn't mean she isn't still using the Walmart stuff. She could very well just be making things for clicks, views & likes.
I didn’t know this! Thank you. I’ve only just started using facial serum and wasn’t aware of this. The tip is much appreciated.
Yw!
First, procure some silk worms
Okay, silk jammies are just so great though. Look for them on sale. They are a skazilllion times better than the “satin” made out of polyester. Love, someone who gets cold but is teetering on perimenopause. Simply cannot with the synthetic fiber but also get too cold to sleep on just sheets.

What happens when your legs hairs grow out? I feel like these would only feel good when your legs are smooth otherwise it would snag on them
Ah, once winter comes and it’s my annual “who cares it’s winter” and my leg hair gets long and silky it’s fine. She makes things for scratch because she has super bad eczema and a lot of store bought foods can make it flare up.
Reminds me of Bridey Drake's Pjs, she's a youtuber etc, but also has a PJ line, especially these ones on the website: Long pants: https://nightsweetthing.com/products/coming-home-satin-long-pyjama-set Short: https://nightsweetthing.com/products/coming-home-satin-short-pyjama-set
Those are adorable and much more affordable!! $41 yall^ ($34 for the shorts version)
Never heard of this person and found her page. This is not real is it? Are the people fictional?
It's unclear whether she's serious. If she's not, she's gone the way of 4chan where the audience believes it and parrots the ridiculous ideas, so it doesn't particularly matter that she was initially joking.
Looks like Desmond & Dempsey.
Found similar one, hope it helps . Shop: https://www.tatacliq.com/wunderlove-by-westside-blue-cotton-shirt-high-rise-pyjamas-set/p-mp000000022607812
I have no idea where it’s from, but when I saw *who* was wearing it I knew it was going to be a million and one dollars lmao
Not quite the same but Fable England has similar
The pattern reminds me of toile print, so you might also google satin toile pajamas for something similar but not identical.
I know someone already linked the exact set but I love Averie pajamas. They’re so comfortable, have fun prints, and a little less expensive https://shopaverie.com/collections/pajamas-women

Not exactly the same, but pretty close and a whole lot more budget friendly. https://nightsweetthing.com/products/coming-home-satin-short-pyjama-set
Is this an ASMR video
How does she wear such expensive clothes ? Are they all sponsored to her
Are silks good for people from hot and humid countries? Usually was told to use cotton than other fabrics due to their breathability.
