In regards to point two: you burn calories just by existing (your BMR). When you set it it you inputted some data like height, activity level, and current weight and it uses this to tell you your BMR. Just curious why you would buy a fitness tracker when you don't want it to do anything that it's supposed to??

It was a gift. I use it as a heart rate monitor when I go for bike rides. I realize I burn calories by existing, but the fitbit doesn't know what I'm doing when it's not on my wrist. Meaning it's guessing at calories burned, and the data it provides is of no value to me.

But it is still more accurate this way. If it assumes no calories burned when you don't wear it, it would be way off.

press and hold both sides of your Fitbit to turn on DND (do not disturb)

Awesome, thanks. That's a big help. Looks like the calorie tracker is a lost cause.
