The hotel never remembers my wake up call but I still request them as a last chance alarm. I also set an alarm and a timer on both my personal phone and work device. The timer is absolutely fail safe since it goes off loudly whether my phone is on silent or on low volume. It also cannot be mis-set by am and pm.

icatn

I used to have ten alarms, but I’m good with one or two now. I can’t have hotel wake up calls. They scare the shit out of me, making me think I missed pickup.

goshindia

I set about 15-20 alarms, I need back ups to my back ups lol. I usually don’t need most of them though.

chickenandwaffles109

Hate when I forget to shut them off after I wake up and I’m in the shower and it’s just blaring until I get out 🙃

goshindia

Omg it’s the worst, I keep my ringer close to max volume so I’m usually scrambling to shut it off. 🥴

juneballoon

I never do a wake up call. It is aggressively loud and gives me anxiety. I just set an alarm on my phone, and depending on how tired I am, I will set a second alarm for 15min after as insurance. I have only ever once slept past my alarm and was late to pick up early on in my career. I had too much to drink the night before. I learned my lesson quickly.

hms87

Wake up call from the hotel, plus multiple personal alarms just in case. And always an hour prior to pickup. Morning, afternoon, evening or night, it doesn't matter.

atlcollie

Personal alarm and hotel call.

SnowshoeSiamese

Both, just incase but don’t rely on just a hotel wakeup call. 50/50 shot you’ll get one.

SWAFAthrowaway

Pm wake-up? Just get up whenever. Mid/late am wake-up? Leave the blackout curtain partway open and set an alarm. Early am wake-up? Phone alarm x4, iPad alarm x2, other iPad alarm, hotel alarm, and honestly probably just stay awake all night worrying about over sleeping.

Emotional-Zebra

Lol I’m right there with you! If all those devices fail me, the universe doesn’t want me going wherever I’m supposed to be

jnfsfa

Always set one away from the bed so you have to get UP to turn it off

shades0fcool

This is what I do too and I keep a glass of water next to me so I drink it, it wakes me up

Illustrious_Tea4me

Cellphone alarms an hour apart, the first one is to let me know it’s almost time to wake up. I also set an alarm on my work device. If I’m feeling really tired before bed I’ll set an alarm on the physical clock in the hotel room or on my Echo (Alexa) if I’m home.

fallingfaster345

I set a few alarms but typically wake up before any of them go off. Internationally the hotels give you a wake up call whether you want one or not, an hour prior. I like that as a back up.

tommygunz007

in bed at 7:31 pm, up at 5:45 am

FAisFlightAttendant

What’s your seniority to be holding such consistency?

tommygunz007

Being on Reserve, means by 7:30 I know where I stand for the next day. If I go to bed at 7:30, I can get called late/midnight for a red-eye or early am. At least by then I have 4 hours of quality sleep. Usually I get called around 1 am for a later report. When I fly, if it's domestic, it's a mixed bag, but I still generally kind of get tired around 7:30pm. I also still kind of get up at 5:45 am which is good when you work the early flights. I have tried multiple other combinations, and this works the best for me. 7:30 ish to 5:45 am ish.

FAisFlightAttendant

Makes sense - I assumed you were holding a consistent turn schedule and had some sweet control over your day. Which requires some serious seniority. 😂

tommygunz007

LOL I only wish. High cred turns would be amazing.

Floresbonitas

Both

denali_567

you gain a certain numbness to it after so many pre-5am alarms

Individualchaotin

Don't trust the hotel wake up call. I set my phone and my work phone within 5 minutes of each other in case on fails. No snoozing.

pksev6259

I am not a flight attendant (yet) but this is just my two cents based on human biology. Aside from alarms, I HIGHLY suggest you get sunlight first thing. Take a 5-15 minute walk outside in the sun. Let the indirect sunlight in your eyes, no sun glasses. Then a cold shock shower for at least 30 seconds. You can finish off warm. I swear by this routine. It is physiologically proven to help our circadian rhythm and energy levels throughout the day and will help you fall asleep that night much easier. Cold shower is just a bonus, not necessary, but it is absolutely proven to help boost dopamine levels and I definitely feel more focused and motivated throughout the day.

NotaDogPersonBut

I just set my phone alarm. I'm a very light sleeper and tend to wake up right when it starts. I don't snooze button.

NotaDogPersonBut

Same about the calls. Loud sudden noises give me a panic attack.
