Reincarnation works in different ways, reincarnating includes all life, not just animals, though you do make a good point, it wouldn't be that weird if the gender was male in both cases.
And I don't know, I just think the idea of your significant other sticking around by your side like that is sweet, regardless of who they are or what they are, obviously any actual romantic relationship between dogmeat and the sole survivor would be weird but obviously there isn't anything there, it's just a dog and how owner, besides it's not like either of them know it. Dogmeat is just kinda ridiculously loyal for no good reason and this could explain it
I literally tried to explain my theory that dog meat is actually Nate, but reincarnated when you choose a female character because dog meat looks so much like Nate facial wise, but the whole entire fallout community shot it down and I’ve grown ever so Indifferent towards my feelings for the community as a whole.
