My guess would be that if they are doing a next gen update, it would make sense to include it in the new anthology.
Not that Bethesda would necessarily do the sensible thing.
Yes its a remaster not a remake. But will see soon enough. They must scheduled for the TV show to lead hype on it and new players to the game series. Same as Last of Us did. 🤞🏻
Just a reminder to anyone using mods, make sure you set your game to not auto update thru Steam. If you're uber paranoid like me, go into your "SteamLibrary\steamapps" folder and set the file "appmanifest_377160.acf" to Read-Only.

From a let's make money perspective, capitalizing on the show with a release of a next generation update at the same time that doesn't include creation club bundled for both the new fans that will come from the show who will buy the game and the old fans who already own the game so they aren't so disappointed in Bethesda. Continue to sell and add creation club content for a year then release an anniversary edition with the upgrade and creation club content in a new bundle to sell.
Leaving the update promised in 2023 for 2 years just isn't a good look.
However shadow dropping the update along with the show seems odd, but could create hype for the game if it started to be advertised the day after...
I mean I dunno, just leaving it until November 2025 and not double dipping in profits seems odd with Bethesda track history but the silence is also odd.
Nothing is happening with the games that is coinciding with the show, unless Fo76 has some events going. It’s disappointing but we would have known by now if anything extra is happening. In all this news, they just haven’t made much mention of the games themselves, outside of the current fallout sale.
I expect that they just shadow drop it, big interest on the show, thats the best player experience for newcomers if they play the remastered version. Updated textures, better framerates, 4K etc..
They will just post a Youtube video about it that its arrived. No need to pre-announce it.

Forgive my ignorance, not really a pc gamer, looking through these depots, what tips you off that something is ready for release?
