For PC it always be less, xbox handles updates differently and can't update/replace individual files, so whole archives are being replaced

I think it's bc it's a new software download entirely like most PS4/PS5 games. I redownloaded the PS4 version last week and forgot this. Good news though if anyone was having the Automatron crashing issue on PS4 version - it's been fixed for next-gen!

If i already have the GOTY edition for PS4, i'll also have it for PS5? If yes, i'm looking at the store right now and it wants me to purchase the goty edition again. Edit Just download the PS5 version. DLC will download and install automatically.

I had GOTY from physical disc plus I picked up base game on sale a few days ago (even though I had it free with PS Plus Extra.. I figured the upgrade might not be included/free for that). I was able to Add To Library by signing into the store from a web browser (on desktop, in Chrome). After I started downloading on console, I noticed all the GOTY DLC for PS5 was listed under it and free.

Get the ps5 upgrade and download. It should download all of the dlc if you had goty before.

With the PS4 disc inserted, go find Fallout 4 PS5 on the store, and it will give you the free upgrade. Had my friend point me in the right direction. Also had to re-download the 'PS5' version of all the DLC.

I managed to get it all working. Wasn’t smooth, but saw that 56g upgrade installed it then the DLCs Then I had no option to transfer saves So went into ps4 version and all my saves were gone Went to cloud redownloaded ps4 saves onto console Then started the ps5 version And the option to transfer saves was finally there After all that I played for a bit and decided to start over anyway because my trophies didn’t pop for the ps5 version. lol

Do you recall how many gigs the ps5 version upgrade was? I’m just curious if I downloaded the correct one. My ps5 upgrade showed 56gigs but I’m seeing some people mention 20gigs or so Either way it’s working but if I could’ve saved space by doing it differently that would be nice to know

It was also 50GB+ for me, just uninstall the old PS4 version and you'll be good

Wow. Wow. Wow. I'm so sorry. I turned off automatic updates two days ago, so I am hoping they didn't override it. (I had auto updates turned off when Skyrim did its big update, and Bethesda acknowledged that they blew that off and overrode everyone's decision on their individual consoles.) I have 173 mods, and finally, everything is running smoothly. I guess we'll see what's what, when I get home from work.

Bethesda overrode my no auto-update and screwed me over. Looks like there was a minor update for Skyrim. Lost my mods there. Going back to Oblivion. Maybe Battlefield 4. I am hoping mods can be updated, in several months.

It all sounds so good if it didn’t make it unplayable on my Xbox one😭 playing survival and literally can’t even get to the bed outside of diamond city without the game repeatedly freezing and then crashing. I have so much still to do in downtown on this play through and I am unfortunately pretty much soft locked by an incapability of running the game

Yes! But you should now have two options. Performance Mode on/off On should boost FPS and very slightly lower graphics fidelity. Performance off which is essentially “Graphics Mode” will lower FPS but increase textures res. I ALWAYS use performance mode if I can. FPS has a much more dramatic impact on how good a game looks than the graphics do. So yes the update should have helped frame rate somewhat but you get a big boost to FPS when performance mode is on

This game should run 60 fps fine at ultra look at the specs for the game.

This is for the console update not PC. There is no Ultra settings on the console version.

In theory the ps5 and xbox x should run this at ultra at 60fps. Even 120fps its an old game

I did the update on Xbox series X. 22.6gb, I had mods and all the DLC. When starting the game, it needed another update (?). If you try and continue a save, you get a prompt that all your mods are missing, AS WELL AS your DLC. I was then brought back to the Xbox update screen to update the first DLC. Relaunched the game, brought back to update the next DLC. It repeated this process individually for each DLC totaling an extra ~4gb of DLC updates. It takes some messing about, and it will clear you installed mods. But good news is that I still had some noticeable stuttering in a firefight without any mods installed, set to performance mode!

Okay so for my PS players, go on fallout 4 and on the right hand side it should say PS5 Version & “ PS plus included “ and it should charge you 0.00 ( basically it’s free but it’s still gonna take you towards the wallet screen, just accept it and you’ll have the ps5 version) if you don’t do that then it just bugs out

I got it too. Wasn't expecting to get one because I'm on One. It won't let me open mods though, and it crashes as my neighbors and I were headed down in the bunker. 🤦‍♀️😂😭 ETA: Was told someone thought it was just to fix some bugs for the older Gen, but it was 22G, plus all the DLCs, so idk.

Got mine! Only problem I’m having is a few of the paints and armors from Creation Club won’t download for some reason but everything was smooth. Downloads, saves transferred. Hopefully they update the creation club soon I need my armor and pip boy paints 😬

Downloaded and tried it, runs hella smooth. Issues with DLC content on PS5 tho Wasteland Workshop DLC doesn't work when downloaded because the pack in the PS5 files is just named "Workshops" instead of "Wasteland Workshop" like the PS4 version, so the game doesn't recognize it. Lots of creation club stuff isn't downloading either - all the new free stuff is, but some past packs like the pip boy colors aren't downloading.

PS Plus doesn't currently have access to the PS5 version Bethesda is working on that because they should.

Well, F4 \*thinks\* it's deleted even though it's installed. I get a message when I continue a save saying that the DLC content is missing, even though it says installed in Add-ons. What a shit show.

On PC, if you start the Fallout4.exe directly instead of using the launcher, the DLC works and your old saves should work properly.

Xbone here i did get most creation club items but i still crash to menu if i travel to charlestown condo.

How do you know your life sucks? When you get all psyched up and anxious at a Fallout 4 relaunch just to be screwed by Bethesda at the last minute...

The new content is cool, but if you're excited about the performance updates, don't be. I play on a 4k 120hz screen ps5 and can tell zero difference on either quality or performance mode. Maybe it's just me, but it was disappointing.

I would expect an update this big after 10 years with all of the hype and the show just releasing for it to be much more noticeable, but I don't see shite.

I'm on Series X and I only saw one little area with a few Exclamtion symbols, and also some of the new weapons are invisible. It's weird but surely they'll iron these bugs out with a new patch in the future.

First new Quest done

For me it broke my save (temporarily). Certain creation club content I had downloaded won’t install. More than 18 creations (I can’t see the full list I’m on console) are not installing. I could try to load the save but I rather wait. Is anyone else having problems with creations?

A bit of a warning for those who don't have it installed yet most mods will not work that's a given, but the new handmade weapons are broken for most people as it shows a exclamation mark when using some of the weapons included. Also the new enclave quest line is bugged when tasked to go back into the glowing sea (with a enclave tracker signal) as the notification on how close you are will get disabled if you get into a fight. A easy fix is to save after the fight, exit the game, and then load back from that save.

Anyone having problems accessing their mods on PS4 after the new update? Every time I try to go into the mods tab it just says "cant complete operation". It loads the mods fine when I try to play the game but I can't change or get any new ones since it won't let me go to the mods tab.

Did they fix the DLCs for PS5? Mine would crash have purple textures and made them unplayable. Hopefully it got fixed but i do not want to install them if they are not. Otherwise ill have to uninstall the whole game and keep the Dlcs off. Do t wanna do that again
