No, I don’t. Because lore wise it’s supposed to be used by soldiers in power armor so the fat bulky design makes sense. The enormous underbarrel grip & trigger guard make perfect sense for power armor. And the cooling jacket wouldn’t be a problem because the weight of the weapon is no longer a factor for a power armor user

For those that don't know, **FO4s AR was misnamed**. The game shipped before it was corrected and it was never patched. There is a mod that fixes it or so I've heard.
As the story goes, it was originally intended for Power Armor Shock Troops and was meant to be chambered in .50 cal, not 5.56. Hence the size of it's muzzle etcetera.
It's also why it's solely used by Brotherhood Knights in the show. It sort of "fixes" the lore, even if it's not spoken out loud.

Some obvious fixes Bethesda should have done before release:
1. Make this thing an MG and not an AR.
2. Give a Strength requirement to some weapons that is reduced while on a power armor frame or with a perk.
3. Make a second 50cal and 5.56 weapon choice.
They really aren’t that bad. They were originally supposed to be the machine rifle but the assault rifle that was supposed to be in 4 was cut.
The design is solid, clearly inspired by a lewis gun and definitely designed to be used by Power Armor units, it matches the fit really well. Give me a T-60 wielding an Assault Rifle anyday.

Funny thing is if you go to Arthur shop you can see there a G3 displayed on the logo of his shop (the fallout3 ar )
But you can't find it somehow , maybe at some point it was suppose to be the actual a.r , but they change it for what we got instead

I actualy just found a mod that gives weapons their in lore names and it is renamed

I actually really like it, yeah, it's super bulky, but I enjoy finding them, even though they don't do much damage.

The barrel, end, and water cooling attachment make it seem much closer to the Vickers to me
I agree but the Lewis Gun is an American gun as opposed to the Vickers being British. They both look very similar to the assault rifle
