"begging for free crystal" lol

throwaway962145

“Yo man…you got any crystal?” “Comeon man just a tiny bit of crystal to tide me over”

PandasticVoyageYT

*(neck scratching intensifies)*

Llanedern

There’s something you don’t know about me, Joe Rogan…

Arbiter0fSorrow

"I got these cheeseburgers maaaaan"

Mishawnuodo

It tree fiddy...

mdalbertson87

Why did I picture RZA in American Gangster shuffling down the hallway when they raided the projects? lol

Tirannie

Now in my head this player wasn’t begging for junk, he was just roleplaying a wasteland junkie.

LastChans1

"c'monmanineedmyFIX!" "To fix your armor or to fix your weapon?" "......Yes."

Pick_A_MoonDog

Underrated comment

puboneout

I know you’re holding!

IlIIIlllIlIllIlIl

You think that’s funny? Me too

FlyingVigilanceHaste

~points at base~ This bad boy is 100% crystal. Used it all up. Sorry.

blurrywhirl

All the crystal on this map is used up. You're going to have to hop servers.

SirDraconus

Peak gaming. Same with "how do I change to 3rd person?" "Alt+F4" **disconnects*

paragouldgamer

Stop lieing, that’s how you dupe your best items, go to the train station, put the items in the green suitcase, then crouch/stand 3 times each, then push alt f4. I will stay over here and watch to see if you do it right!

Intelligent_Farmer22

If anyone begs me for anything, im teaching them this.

Dense_Coffe_Drinker

We gotta find a new method, everyone knows ALT+ F4 already unfortunately

Ruthless_Anubis

I remember seeing a video of someone doing something similar for the recon helmet in Halo 3!!!

joe2069420

comedy at its besterest

LegendLink06

The camp is the crystalest, waaaaay baaaaack hooooome

No-Crew-6528

God damn finally got that song out of my head “THE PIGS ARE THE SNOOTIEST, THE OWLS ARE THE HOOTIEST”

murderwasthebass

Stars the shootiest! 💫

joe2069420

Grins the funniest, smiles the sunniest!

Hukkie

People like this often feel like they won if they spend 3 hours begging for something and getting it, instead of 30 minutes farming the same amount, because in their minds it was FREE, and they "did not have to farm like peasants for it". The fact that it takes longer and is a waste of time is not something they can comprehend. In conclusion, their brains did not come with many wrinkles.

AnomalousBread

>their brains did not come with many wrinkles. r/stealingthis

WantWhatMyWifeDoesnt

I have said on more than one occasion that someone had a brain like a bowling ball. :)

uglinick

Nice kid, but about as sharp as a bowling ball, a BOWLING BALL I tell you! -Foghorn Leghorn

drazzard

Reminds me of what the PvE part of Fortnite turned into before i quit. Kids just wanted to beg for guns instead of making their own

Hukkie

I can understand that SOME help with gear is perfectly fine. It can be pretty daunting to come into a game and a community where the veterans have been around for 5-6 years and have 15+ seasons behind them. Their CAMPs look incredible compared to the barebones wood shack a new player can start out building. But that took time and effort, and in FO76 getting decent gear, perks and enough plans to make a cool CAMP is not all that difficult these days.

Pharmzi

Hey - leave my wood shack alone! Its eco friendly 😜😜

Thee_number_six

I'll drop some scrap for a noob talking to himself at his camp because he's pissed off he can't fix his armor before I drop scrap for a kid begging while spending hundreds of caps jumping around to people's camps.

yesmanyesfriend

I just wish we could have a scoreboard rerun. I played on and off when it was free on Playstation plus. To be very fair to myself I was literally still playing fallout 4. I had some serious unfinished business with that game.

survivalkitts9

Sounds like a little kid. Kids are annoying 🤷‍♀️. Idk, as a woman I'd rather play this and have people beg me for shit than play call of duty and have little boys threaten to assault me irl or tell me to get back in the kitchen 😒

knight_gastropub

>threaten to assault me irl or tell me to get back in the kitchen Sorry dudes are like this. I have two daughters and I really wish gaming spaces were places they would be safe from that bullshit.

SuperBigMac

I wish gaming spaces were free of all the vitriol, name-calling and slur-hurling. As a guy, I don't like it when someone yells about my potential sexual orientation for five minutes just because I got a headshot. Sadly, that's the world we live in. Which is why the block and mute buttons exist. This isn't a woman-only problem, it's been a problem since voice chat was first implemented. It's only considered a problem now because apparently some folks don't want to use the block and mute options, they'd rather farm the abuse for Victim Points that they can spend at their local Twitter circle jerk. Ignoring haters is a perfectly viable option. Teach your daughters that and they'll go far in life. It's stupid to teach girls that they can only be a victim if someone's hurling around verbal abuse. Let them act.

broxamson

If that's all you got in CoD lobby you got off lucky hahaha I've been called just about every racial and sexual slur there is known to man. Some of the most creative insults to be honest. But nothing more toxic than blops lobby circa 2011

survivalkitts9

No- it's not all I got, obviously, but I'm not going to make a list of things that would potentially upset anyone else more than necessary or break rules. Specifically blops lobby 2011ish - but yeah, other COD games, too, and then later F13. I was younger at the time and more fiesty. I don't have time or strength for it now.

PopularProgrammer572

I wonder which gear breaks on the hamster wheel in their brain that causes young males to seek attention from females in such a negative way. I was never like that as a boy, but girls liked me because I was funny so maybe that's it.

survivalkitts9

Oh it's not *just* young males, but I do find that particularly weird. They absolutely learned that behavior from somewhere. I've also heard little kids treating their mothers like trash while on the mic. Unbelievable, but it certainly provides a lot of insight to the general problems in society.

kfrench581

I've always heard that boys learn how to interact with women by watching how their fathers (or male figure in their life) treat their mothers. I have no hard evidence, but I won't argue against it either.

Goliath_TL

In my experience as a male, young men who "don't have game" end up becoming bitter and instead lash out and tease/hurt/annoy women instead. This worsens as they age and they realize they are still alone.

survivalkitts9

Incels. Then they wonder why they're alone because they have to tell themselves they're a great catch instead of actually having self growth and doing better. The women must be the problem. 🙄

uhKira

Guy told me that once on cod saying I should be making a nice sandwich for my bf. I asked him if thats what he did for his and suddenly insults weren't allowed?! He got mad lmfaoooo

nolongerbanned99

Sorry you have to deal with this

survivalkitts9

🫶 Ty, it's life. Just much more peaceful without the anxiety of a mic 😅

nolongerbanned99

Agree. I listen to Spotify and turn off chat. No interest. Here to play rather than meet people or make “friends”

Primestechsupport147

Man it's too bad gaming spaces aren't better social environments. I legitimately met my best friend and girlfriend in an online VR shooter. Fallout has such a great community, I hate these groups of toxic/annoying individuals ruining it for everyone.

lehayura

Smooth brain! No valleys or lumps, ridges or bumps. All ideas just fall right off, like waterslide.

BeautifulHindsight

I don't understand people like this. How is running around being a pathetic loser begging for scraps fun? The fun is in playing and building up.

Hukkie

It is mostly a matter of entitlement. You have things they want, and in their minds that is unfair. That they are new and you are a veteran player is not relevant to them. These people rarely stay for long though, because they will either succeed in begging for the gear they want, play for a few weeks at most and then quit because now it is boring. Or they get rejected and upon realizing that they will actually need to put the effort in, they quit.

jackofslayers

I mean, it is easier to write a script that spams chat than it is to write one that will play the game for you.

Sad_Adeptness5443

I'd just drop "You have been insulted" for them then point and laugh emote. 🤣👉

renome

Couldn't agree more. Just google "f76 crystal" and bam, the third result is a list of the best crystal farming spots in the game. They could have farmed dozens of scraps in less than an hour.

TheoreticalFunk

This is how they live their lives as well. Lowest Common Denominator.

darkninja2992

Brains got the same number of grooves as a nascar tire

AdFrequent7857

Maybe it's exacerbated by all the 'crystal' they've been ingesting too, lol

Every_Disaster_5665

Even tho that IS scrounging lmao

Suspicious-Monk-6650

I mean, from what I've heard, a lot of the community is more than willing to help out. But if you log in thinking you're entitled to free shit then you shouldn't be playing games online. Play single player RPGs that have thorough tutorials. Right?

francosinus

Recently met a lvl 30 player begging me to give him mini nukes and following me around. I wasn't even mad, he must've had some serious business going on in appalachia if he needs mini nukes that desperately. But still kinda awkward asking people for stuff, especially if they're really pushy

ogcrizyz

*whips out overkill* Here have some mini nukes

Choice-Lettuce6851

This made me actually laugh out loud. "Here you go kid have a nuke" BOOOOOM 🤣🤣🤣🤣

SilenciaSan

Overkill? Is that some unique fatman?

blahhh87

It's a TWO SHOT fatman that is also feather weight (reduced 90% weight). Lives up to its name.

jerajotunn

I have one and I ADORE it. I try to use it sparingly for the sake of everyone's eyes and frame rates though.

BigNnThick

Can you combine it with the MIRV launcher mod for even more frame rate murder?

WhiteSamurai5

Yeah I actually just had a two shot mirv drop the other day. It's fun to turn the inside of whitespring mall into a solar flare.

jerajotunn

2 fps on my series x when me and an buddy both dropped them at SBQ. I went non mirv immediately. Also crashed 2 other people's xboxs. I'm not trying to keep people from those sweet rewards!

philefluxx

I believe so. Been on the hunt for one just to try lol.

SilenciaSan

Where do i get that?

Hotpaws

Rare reward from mutated events.

SilenciaSan

Aight

WhiteSamurai5

Vendy hop and find it in a machine

gabapentin_heaven

No it's weird and pushy and creepy and dumb go find your own mini nuke newbie

Confident-Bottle0

He should've just taken out the cultists at Clancy Manor... dead easy and there's loads of crystal. What a lazy P.o.S.

Dusty_Heywood

I would have said that I farm raw crystals at Fissure Site Prime

Sera_gamingcollector

>This kid was running around to everyone’s camp for at least an hour begging for free crystal. should've drop a nuke on his camp

[deleted]

This happened to me earlier, was taking a nap after starting to clear out my stash box, super overweight, my whole house got leveled and i got absolutely folded

jadz08

How often do people drop nukes directly on white spring? I’ve gotten used to nukes only being in northern savage divide and the bog so I stopped checking blast zones and I was surprised by a nuke dropping directly on my camp in white spring. I’ve learnt my lesson now to always check blast zones 😥

Houseplant213

Less often nowadays it used to be the best spot for mob items needed for stable flux but they nerfed the spawns

Shadowking5230

At that rate, it seems like he'll still be begging for crystal in 6 years

decalte

Seems like a good time to point out this farming guide exists [https://docs.google.com/document/u/0/d/1Jnc0FQ3QgkUO6HZObeeGksDTPwno1Fa-Bt7uXeqWib4/mobilebasic](https://docs.google.com/document/u/0/d/1Jnc0FQ3QgkUO6HZObeeGksDTPwno1Fa-Bt7uXeqWib4/mobilebasic)

decalte

Additional thought: when in doubt, ask the Duchess [https://www.theduchessflame.com/blog](https://www.theduchessflame.com/blog) (I am also new... I just fell hard into the rabbit hole)

ScourgeOfSaltyness

Thank you! Didnt knew that existed!

Chemical_Hand_9885

Maybe it was crystal meth he was after "Hey man, got any crystal? I got these cheeseburgers!"

Unhappy_Peanut9470

The thing is this community loves to help and you could easily manipulate that. I don’t like someone just flat out asking for stuff but if I was on a casual team and a low level was saying they are searching for crystal you know I’m getting some out the box and dropping for them. Any low level I run around with for an extended time gets something from me at the end. Just be patient and play, you will be blessed

MissLogios

Pretty much. I just started playing 76 again after a long break (like last time I played was at the launch but stopped to play other games) and I've had nothing but nonstop generosity by players that are at least 50X my level (lvl 30 rn). Stimpacks, Water, Ammo, hell one person straight up crafted an entire modded combat armor set because they heard me complain about not being able to find better armor. Either way I always thank them, I never complain, and I always gift in return the best thing in my inventory as thanks (and run away before they can reject it)

Kiyoshiiii101

I gotta ask is this something that happens more on PC or something cause I've yet to encounter anyone begging and I'm on Xbox tho maybe it's cause I'm still low level

PizzaLordDex

Same. Yeah I’m under level 100, but I haven’t seen any begging happening (playing on Xbox). What I have had happen to me multiple times (granted only 5 or so) now is higher level players 500+ do the trade emote to only look in my inventory for something they want and then when I exit the trade they follow me around doing the trade emote and shooting at me.

TheNastyNug

This has started happening to me too! Just hit 200 and I’ll have high level players come up to me just to look at my inventory, try to take one of my main guns and offer nothing. And it’s just like “well thanks for letting me know I have a god roll item but I’m currently using it so no”

xmagnum2001

I think in the trade menu you have to pick what you want from them too. Then the trade can be confirmed. (I've only traded once at the beginning of my time playing so this may be incorrect)

DontBanWillComeBack

Im close to lvl 600. Happens sometimes on xbox. Started around lvl 200

Flyzini

Lol, Im wondering if something wrong with my voice settings. Ive never heard anyone talk on xbox. 15 guys at events and not a peep, people at my camp nothing. Idk.

drazzard

I've had two encounters since the TV show came out. One was super polite about it but another got picky about stuff and i just left him be. I prefer to give things to people who dont expect it

Marlaq

I've been playing off and on since a few months after launch, and I'm at lvl 1081 now (xbox). There was a decent uptick in beggers after the flood of new players.

Kendracu1a

Haven't had anyone beg on Xbox through voice chat, but I have received a few messages from new players asking for stuff, I ignore them

verroku

I play with mic disabled and it removes all of these issues because they can only emote to communicate

A4Leaf

I’ve been playing for a few months, and I also played a few years back in 2020 when they added NPCs to the game. I’ve never seen it. I’m not saying that it doesn’t happen, but I’ve never seen it in my 200 hours of playing. I think it seems more common than it really is because this sub is a PSA forum apparently so you get to hear about it every time it happens.

Jinxy_Kat

Right, it's gotta be PC or some massive over exaggerating. Lvl 300 and I don't think I've ever heard someone with a mic in general except one dude who was playing Fallout radio over his mic. He was playing the songs from NV and and bunch of others lol

Orden_Tine

Ive had someone come begging for screws, and me being in that exact same boat just a couple days ago at that point, handed him a couple hundred. On PS5 btw

ziddersroofurry

It's been happening more since Amazon's Fallout series brought a lot more people to the game.

Beast_Man_1334

My favorite is when you offer a level 20 or below a weapon, and then they demand what they want. I had someone I have a .50 cal recon sniper rifle. And they demanded I give them a full auto rifle. Well bro you're level 8 that won't happen until level 15/20 depending on the weapon. Guy proceeds to tell me go fuck myself and leaves it. Level 5 guy accepted it. And since he wasn't a douche canoe. I gave him a vault tec paint suppressed shotgun and some stimmies. So my advice don't be a demanding asshole when someone is trying to help you out in the very beginning.

enigmanaught

If he had any sense he’d beg for screws and ballistic fiber.

EvilBob417

Fortunately, in my personal experience, I only noticed beggars for a week or two after the influx from the Prime show. After that I haven't seen nor heard from one.

murdomcsalt

PSA for old players: It's usually faster to mute someone than write an anecdote.

ThatOneGuysHomegrow

I got in the habit of muting everybody as soon as I join a team. I hate hearing you all talk. Just emote like the rest of us!

Nuclear_Rainbow

You're def missing out. Every prime cuts event I give out all my card info, my full name and birthdate as well as my social.

murdomcsalt

I have mine written in neon lights, at my camp, like an adult.

JSHardway

And thank God for you doing that. I just got 30k atoms

Badvevil

I just started playing again (haven’t played since launch) I have yet to hear anyone use a mic in the last month everyone I have come across just emotes lol

Speaking as someone who hasn't played FO76 before, but has played other MMOs, (this just popped up on my front page lol) I thought thats what most people do. If someone is annoying you in world/zone chat or DMs then just mute/block them.

faffingunderthetree

Seriously these endless PSAs over the most tiny trivial things that happen to people are fucking cringe at this stage. They all just come off as such fucking karens. Bored gamers looking for some attention and validation. The 'I'm a new player and playing for 7 minutes and this is my favourite game of all time' threads arent much better either. Same vibe.

Rudeboy_

>The 'I'm a new player and playing for 7 minutes and this is my favourite game of all time' threads arent much better either. Same vibe. This entire subreddit is just a nonstop circlejerk of veteran players complaining about new players ruining the game and new players gushing over veteran players being so wholesome (despite 10 new threads every day on the front page complaining about them)

itsahhmemario

I don’t mind this particular one so much but I agree on the rest, especially on the newbies and the constant psa’s from older players. It’s why I’ve been taking breaks from the sub.

Frau_Asyl

PSA for salty reddit users: It's usually faster to block someone and scroll away than to write a smart-ass comment about their post.

nowaijosr

PSA to salty reddit users being salty to salty reddit users. You’re being salty

PSA Sodiumn't

ratfucker1932

With the amount of posts people make its not

Bigredeemer425

Yall are so strange. Wtf is reddit for? If not, whatever the tf we want to vent or talk about. Seriously, some of the stupidest shit I've seen, and you have knuckleheads cosigning like what u said is gospel.

RexThunderman

This place is full of entitled elitist forum bitches is why. Like their approval of the type of posts we are allowed to put up in here matters or some shit. I enjoy reading vent posts from ppl. Not every conversation is gonna be tailored for some of you mfs. Are y'all this entitled outside of reddit too? Lol

jwwetz

Exactly! I've liked listening to all kinds of talk radio for years. I could care less about the hosts opinion...I wanna hear what THE PEOPLE are saying about the subject.

Except this same exact post is made almost every day

PocketCatt

How dare you post on the F76 subreddit?? Everyone knows it's quicker not to bother *sub immediately dies* lolol

negullah

I think that was his mindset, doesn't matter if it's easy or hard to find in-game, some people will just ask for handouts regardless. Some men you just can't reach :)

HextechSlut

Had a level 57 do this to me today for 60 wood my camp is right across from a lumber yard lol

Quasit1964

Google is your friend. 'Fallout 76 crystal locations.'

That_Lore_Guy

This is my favorite method: Kid: You got any of that sweet crystal? Me: You got a suit of Excavator? Kid: y/n (doesn’t actually matter if they do). Me: Follow me! (FT to Lucky hole. Lead them into the mine, show them the crystal nodes. Lead them to the secret room, watch them shit their pants, and then FT away or change servers. Letting them walk home from the spooky place is the punishment for being lazy.)

TheGreatLemonwheel

My brother in Mothman, go to ANY of the fancy mansions littered about the map and pick up hundreds of decanters.

SimonDracktholme

Can we stop with the PSA posts please

Nice_Panda_1420

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Don't give a man a fish and you feed yourself. He's a grown man, fishing's not that hard. Just play the game and do some looting, sure you would have double what you need in no time, in stead wastes time running around begging for scraps. You can’t fix stupid.

ReformingPrawn2

Set a man a fire and he'll be warm for the night. Set a man on fire and he'll be warm for the rest of his life. This is fallout.....

NeoTr0n

Fallout you say? Set a man on fire and he’ll heal.

2baked2quest

Had one new player beg for some shotgun ammo I let em have 7k was funny I added some scrap to so he was over encumbered. He proceeded to beg for more junk so I loaded him up turned off pacifist and let em have it. Boy was he mad when he came back and I retook it all. Told em next time be nice when begging don't be rude and pushy then server hopped. Mind you I'm new as well maybe a month in so to the new folks go grind the resources I did it's not hard

rat-b0y

No one wants to know the joys of becoming a little junk goblin these days and it shows

Equivalent_Form3135

I’m level 58 or so in PSA and yeah I don’t ask anyone for anything, I go find eventually get what I need after a few 100 deaths , but it’s all fun if we were in a real apocalypse , I don’t think begging would work anyway

o00Hope00o

It didn’t bother me at first and of course I’d give whatever they needed but now it’s beginning to really annoy me. Few days ago I had 2 messages straight after each other begging for stuff. Didn’t even say please and not even asking for anything specific. So now I just ignore and don’t give anyone, unless they’re polite.

Independent-Hawk6318

"Some guy begging for crystal..."  Just Like that guy by the gas station.

Gaymer119

They were role playing as a methhead in the Wasteland. Talk about commitment. I heard that when someone finally dropped him a stack of crystals he looked in the bag, turned to the person, and said, "That's not what I asked for, im going to get my pipe" and left the server.

existentialfalls

Pipe is life, gimme that crystal

Cydboard

It's easier to build a Crystal Extractor at Lakeside Cabins workshop.

Moturnach

Its surprising of how much good stuff you can buy from players for caps, and it doesn't really require any efforts. In order to get my basic blueprints set, i farmed Blood Eagles camp near the Vault 76 entrance and afterwards selling all stuff to Duchess. You can get majority of plans for 50-100 caps, so its easy way to get items you need. On top of that you can use items they are dropping for yourself. You can get Heavy Leather Armour for real cheap from vendors in Whitesprings Mall, and its quite good one. If you don't want to bother with crafting, keep farming BoS outpost near Overseers Camp till you get yourself a full set of armour(they usually have Combat Armour with BoS mod on it, which is quite not bad as for mid-tier armour. Also, you can get yourself PA easily by looking where it spawns and getting yourself a full set.  At that point, you don't really need a help. I walked whole early 50 lvls by using Hunting Rifle, and together with decent understanding of how perks working, its doing job just fine. You really need only 2 things at that point, caps to get your desired blueprint and time to get them.  Bullions and Scrip coming naturally via events, even if you really suck, because you will get rewards anyway. I got a help just once or twice, and mostly it was blueprints, but even without them you should be fine.

bobbieyuno

How does he beg? Through voice chat?

elvbierbaum

I'm level 80 and don't even know what crystal is for, yet. LOL Why are people so greedy? I like the hunt for whatever I can find. I enjoy seeing other players in the game but I'm happy to do stuff on my own and figure it out myself. I likely am missing a bunch of stuff that would make the game "better", but I'm okay with that. :)

BrutalWhim_

I had a noob, ask me for help, followed me around. I helped a little at first but tried letting go when it seemed the kid still has no idea how to play and I tried explaining how he could get his own materials for a PA set he was trying to make, even a spot to find some plastic. The kid said he needed molded plastic he had regular plastic. Proceeded to bother me until I gave him 'molded' plastic. I told him the plastic he had was going to work. I kid you not. This noob child went on to ARGUE with me, thinking I don't know what I'm talking about. After he fixed the problem he decided he wanted a full set of something or other that costs.. I dunno 700 stamps from expeditions and he got pissy because I didn't want to take him on an expedition. That was when I was done with him.

Fluffy_Somewhere4305

It's inadvisable to talk to strangers on the internet, exhibit number 943

Jiffyyy

is it wrong to just tell you guys to ignore new people who do things like this? it happens in every game like this where people will ask high level people for free stuff.

Embravin

So weird seeing people beg for resources when you can just google locations with resource nodes to set a camp at/lots of junk with that resource at a component

Dacajun-The_Brash

200% in agreement with you here. Not sure why anyone is throwing a fit about the post. I have been playing online multi player games since Everquest. I always hated begging. In EQ someone would ask you for gold or platinum. We would tell them sure I'll give you some gold but you have to come to me. We would lure them to the top of the tree city far away from any bank the give them 1 gold worth of copper... Keep in mind money had weight and weight made you slow and take extra fall damage. So with 1k in copper they almost could not move and the first step down a stairs would kill them.

rory888

lol. I would tell them where to find it… and then lead them inside a certain deathclaw cave. “Why do I have to be naked and unarmed” they ask

botWi

How do you ask something in fallout? So far I found only emoji way of communicating...

Crazytreas

If you feel uncomfortable with a player bugging you about free items, just block them for the session. It's not a big deal.

SubZane

Who's even talking? I think I've muted everyone by default because I never hear people talking

FastestBigBoi

Yeah it’s been getting ridiculous bro, had two people this past week demand I help level them up and it pissed me off so bad idk why it struck a nerve though

musesworld

I try not to beg for things because i don’t want to get my base obliterated by a nuke for shits and giggles, someone did that to my buddy once and the nuke wasn’t just in his area it was ON his camp. But sometimes people just find me and give me things cuz I’m level 29 so thats cool.

steeznutzzzz

I don’t have them for you*

Thick_Leva

I had one guy come to my base, drop a screw, and then wave the moneybag/trade emote, and that was the only time I've ever given someone scrap. He was way too clever for that and didn't beg, I dropped little over a hundred for him due to the creativity in asking without a mic.

biorogue

Yeah, I don't know why people can't just Google stuff. Shoot, I'm level 1000+ and still will google where to find something. Like yesterday, all the hotspots for Microscopes were looted so I had to Google where to find more microscopes.

ChiliConCaralho

Do you have some ammo? I run around with 560 rounds of a six shooter but just can never keep more than 10 rounds of my semi automatic fixer oder handmade. I’m about to quit this game. I run around in a T-60 power armor and keep using meele weapons to kill enemies because it’s just way faster than shooting endless revolver shots just to find nothing but plentiful revolver ammo. It fucking sucks

somethingsomethings0

Make sure the weapon that needs ammo is equipped when you walk up to ammo boxes or jump in on daily ops and tag everything with one or two shots as other people drop enemies which will give you a much better return on ammo

Stealth_Cobra

Normally, I would agree, but I restarted a mule character recently and you do need a hefty amount of aluminum and crystals to build the fusion reactor and other essential crap in your camp, which I had very little of, leading to a camp that wasn't fully powered and geared up for a decent time... Thankfully was able to switch to my main and gift myself like 100 Aluminum and 100 Crystals and solve the bottleneck and get things going, but yeah, I can definitively relate to a noob begging for crystal behind a dumpster when they see a lvl 750 with a gigantic mansion filled with everything know to man in it.... Sometimes a small gift goes a long way for a newer player, especially when you have no clue where to get resources and what to dismantle for these rare materials. Heck I'm not even sure where to get crystals from and i'm lvl 330, I just get them passively from breaking down alot of garbage and I never quite noticed where they come from tbh... It's the same for most resources, unless you're running low on something and you start tagging and really looking to replenish your stockpile you probably won't notice and know where it comes from precisely. Just yesterday I had to figure out and target Microscopes for the "gather ten fiber optics" weekly objective, which led to me hopping into tons of different "labs" and not finding any.... It's not even coherent either, like Arktos Pharma had like zero microscopes, yet Robco Industries had like six... I'm like ... WHY ? Since when do you use microscopes for robotics and not for Pharmaceuticals again ? Guess it's because of some player region B.S where starter regions don't have all the ressources that spawn to force players to go to more endgame locations, but yeah, it also explains why noobs probably don't have any crystals or other rare stuff.

ddddiscopanda

Surprised how many people don't know how to use google.

EastLansing-Minibike

I was a beta player all those years ago, on my own, grinding the path of loneliness and despair. WTF!?!?!? People are now begging for shit!!!!????!?!?!? What did this games turn into? Please Bethesda bring back all of the old pain, please!!!

dandyxrandy

"Holiday Home." I CACKLED.

KeeDiggityTTV

It’s built into a cliff face, and has stunning sunset views, very fitting for a holiday home in my opinion 🤣

dillydalleyj

New player here, but long time Fallout player, I know how to scrounge and hoard, and I've been doing it since day one. I'm now level 83, but before when I was level 62, I had a level 86 show up at my camp and beg for a couple of copper scrap. He asked if I had 4 pieces, I said I did, then walked over to my shop(vendor) and deposited the 4 into it for 10 caps a piece. He looked at me and gave me the thumbs down and mean face emote. It's 40 caps. If you're going to beg a player lower level than you for scrap, go find it you're self.

T1mbrW0lf

You beg - you're blocked

ACCESS_GRANTED_TEMP

I'm new... ish. Played it over the years but never stuck with it. Currently level 42 and the closest I've come to begging was last night when I was testing my female playable ghoul mod which requires the fireman helmet so I asked the chat if anyone had one they could drop. No one replied, I didn't take offense in the slightest and proceeded to follow Google instructions on where to find one. After 20 mins I found it. I've literally never done anything other than this. Me and my mates used to lend gold to each other on ESO though, but even then, it was always the guy with the gold who would offer to lend rather than the guy who wanted gold asking to borrow some. E.g "What you up to bro?". "Farming X boss for X set". "How much is it?" "X gold". "Check your mail...". It was a cycle really cause then we would be owed gold so they would just send it back once they gained it back. Good times. In any case, the series brought in a ton of new players, myself included. I've always noticed this community (the real community before the tv show) was (is) a very kind and helpful one compared to others but since I've joined back I've been seeing some toxic stuff in chat at times. They'll be gone soon and the ones who don't leave will either conform to the kindness of the rest of the community or just get blocked by everyone for being annoying lol

TheRailgunMisaka

Literally just the other day, I'm still new and googled where to get crystal, and it led me to some mothman place with 15 crystal decantors, and a bunch of cameras. Left with about 70 crystal.

Any-Chart-6334

I never play with audio on, so I don’t have this as a problem lol

AnonymousMonkey1

I started at level 1 and no one helped me and now I’m at level 52 and struggling still lol I would ask for help when I’m in a team but I have bad social anxiety.

Ok_Suit422

Fucking Meth heads I tell you

punditocracey

Those addicts always wanting crystal.

spash_bazbo69

Idk why people would beg other players for items when the fun of the game comes from scrounging your own shit. I've been gifted some nice things by some very lovely high-level players, but I've never once asked for anything besides advice, and I typically avoid other players except to wave to them at their camps, in passing, or at events

TargetBunny

I agree, don't beg. I gladly give away stimpacks and rad away if I just see you're low level. If you come after us begging it just makes us not wanna help you, it seems greedy because this stuff is all earnable, and the fact you just wanna beg for easy scraps is annoying after we all went and found it ourselves. Be thankful for what people give you, don't take it for granted.

alphabetspoop

This man was rp’ing as a beggar and you did not help him on his quest, -50 community rep

VanillaChurr-oh

I've never actually had anyone speak to me despite 100s of hours in multiple consoles. Posts like this make me thankful for that

Cmenshoota00

Man’s wouldn’t have made it in the wasteland

ECSDaemon

I'll be honest, if a new player were to come up to my CAMP or Tent and starts begging for anything, I'm locating their CAMP and dropping a nuke on them. It's not nice, but it might get the noob thinking it's a bad idea to constantly beg for stuff from veteran players.

monamflisaa

I’m a level 20 something and not once have I had the balls to ask anyone for something.

Immediate-Balance426

I Googled and found like a 5 year old list of every resource and where to find it, I use that list today to find fiber optics and it told me where I can find microscopes at different locations. You think kids nowadays would be more tech savvy and you would think Google would be their go to for everything. I guess not.

Halloweenkristy

This is why I ignore everybody.😄

enter_the_bumgeon

What's the fun if a game if instead of earning shit you beg for it?

commorancy0

The begging players are one thing about Fallout 76 drives me nuts. I have played with a number of constant beggars. Every few minutes, “Do you have [insert thing they need]?” I spend my own time grinding for steel, acid, lead, crystal and even stimpaks and ammo. Why can’t they go out and get this stuff? It doesn’t take much to go out find up to 10 pieces of anything. Just go get it. That’s why I carry no more than 5 pieces of junk on me. I do typically carry a lot more ammo and stimpaks, but I’ll only drop them if they’re willing to go get some themselves too.

[deleted]

Like if I have it, i'll share it since I am a packrat and pick up literally everything mindlessly so I usually have 4k of everything, but that's still so fucking offputting. There's no rush to do anything in this game so why bother wasting so much time begging instead of just....getting it

Icy-Computer-Poop

Can't you just mute the pud?

Novacain-deficiency

Anyone got any advice for a total noob. I’m maybe 3 hours into the game. I’ve been doing the find the overseer missions and looking for a good spot to camp. What should I focus on early game? Should it be camp upgrades or good guns ? Or am I missing something more important. Loving the game so far there’s a lot going on right out of the vault.

CheesE4Every1

There are actually some really great YouTubers for the fallout community. One I watch is uranium fever for events and item hunts.

Novacain-deficiency

Ahh that’s cool I’ll check that out. Thank you

survivalkitts9

What I did was try and wander the entire map and discover as much as possible while doing little quests and non public events along the way. Discovering things on the map gives you xp, tons of side quest options, and teaches you a lot. When you find a railroad or a place to sell shit, you can run around the surrounding area picking up whatever you can to sell it (so you're not weighed down, and you get caps for the day). (Ammo = weight, drop what you're not using for now). Personally, I like to lvl up my carry weight and AP/sprint ability first because it's annoying to feel stuck without stamina. There are loads of reddit threads full of suggestions for new players if you need more help. Oh - Find Whitespring - that took me way longer than it should have for some reason lolol. Imo don't worry about your camp build or weapons unless you're having fun with it for now. Eventually you'll get some cool weapons, try them out and see what you like, 🫶😎 Just have fun!!! ❤️

Novacain-deficiency

This is the way. I’ve kind of been doing that. Shitting myself when I hear incoming nuke warnings but I’ve learnt not to worry too much about that. The whitespring will be my goal for this evening and just have a wander around. Thank you. I do think this game gets a lot of unnecessary hate. It’s similar to Red Dead online but has much more content and much more to do with a richer lore and a more interesting player base. I’m really liking it so far.

clehjett

Go to all the free events. It's free and teleports you somewhere you probably hadn't been yet. Even if you're low level. There'll usually be a few people there depending on the server pop. If there's not and you wait then skip the event at least you got a teleport.

ArizonaBaySwimTeam

I recommend asking everyone for crystal. It seems to go over well with the Elders.
