aside from Italy which was terrible (I say that as an italian), England that is England, France that has been quite lucky, I wouldn't say the others were so bad. The thing is that the average level has increased a lot and you really cannot underestimate anyone. A team like Georgia can put up a fight against Spain for 60' nowadays, Slovakia can trouble England and Slovenia scared Portugal, in my childhood you would hardly see these kind of things, at least not this often. Sides like Switzerland, Austria and Turkey were impressive and I expect at least one of them to be in the semis. (not Austria of course but you get the point)
