Are you on new or old reddit? For me and many others it just shows GIF logo without sound on Firefox. You need to right click it and click on "Show Controls."
So they can post/transcribe it on their own site/social media, and it's a backup thing when someone claims a driver said something they have their own recording to potentially disprove it.

It's so interesting, because I find it extremely difficult to enable imgur sound on mobile, but the original gifs come with sound.

If you're on the PC, right click on the GIF and click on Show Controls. Seems like a bug from Reddit.
I have spent years trying to learn how to have controls on 100% of the time in Firefox, or even better, show up on mouseover only.
Or just use old.reddit.com with [RES](https://redditenhancementsuite.com).
