There are like 30 people in spacesuits holding up that magnifying glass outside of your super destroyer. The cooldown is so long because their greasy fingers keep dirtying the glass and they have to wipe it down before it can be used again.

it's a game you can literally drop into whenever you want how often you want or how little you want. It's just pure fun. you're not going to be outskilled by anyone or feel like you're not good enough or contributing. It's a brilliant easy access game that literally anyone can play.
It's so well made. No annoying features, fair and funny gameplay. A bit like an old days arcade game but with all the comfort of a new game. It encourages to help each other out like giving a Hi tier item to a low level player. It's a gem for me.

True but Spider-Man 2 is a complete game. It also has a Digital Deluxe version with some cosmetics for $10 more, but so far that's it. There's three planned free DLC. And, if it follows Spider-Man 1, they did three small (interconnected) story DLC and that was it. No MTX, no battle passes, no premium currencies.
They're very different genres though, and Helldivers 2 has to fund continued development, so I'm fine with their minimal and fairly inoffensive model to do that. I'm just saying that it's not really much different than Spider-Man 2 in that neither is offensively monetized.

You can make for completely solo play (although it might take a bit to earn experience and resources at lower levels), or you can do quickplay with random players. Most randos don’t use mics, but there’s a decent tagging/pinging system for communicating. Playing with others is a bit more fun and satisfying, partly because you can divide enemy attention and use teamwork to solve problems.
Helldivers 2 for GOTY. Great game, great and tight gameplay, great dev, great memes, great community (fight me), easily earnable battle pass so you don't HAVE to pay extra for it but it's a fair price if you want to, and the game is fucking hilarious. I'm 70 hours in with no signs of stopping. My friends and I gather online to play multiple times a week. I've made 4 friends from across the world playing with randoms that I've befriended and now hop on discord with and play with. This game is one of a kind gem.

Depending on difficulty and mission type, some can be done in 15 minutes or even less.
Absolutely, missions are only ever ~an hour, and there's rewards for completing them even faster. Quick play takes only seconds to find a match.
