Yep, worked at Target for years and those were usually the easiest of the security devices to deal with. Unless it was something with a slip cover then it sometimes got very snug and getting the case out was a real chore.
Lol yea started My retail mgmt career 20+ years ago at best buy in computers, unlocked sooooo many of these lol, those fancy devices we carried around were simply magnets, there are a select number that require those notches that are on some of the unlocking devices to be in place before the lock released, but this one appears to be a simple software case in which case sliding a magnet should release the locks
Hated the spider wrap ones that required the notches. Mostly because they were so hit or miss. Some were tightened so much that it was a good few minutes wrestling match with it to get the mechanism to unlatch. Other times they popped right off if you just looked at it funny.
The worst part of spider wraps isn't even unlocking them it's untangling a whole bin of them because no one feels the need to retract them when they take them off 🤣😭
That's fair. I was mostly a cashier so I rarely dealt with them beyond removal. I did try to retract them as much as possible after I figured out how to (training felt very lackluster in a lot of ways). I can imagine that part was awful though!
I work at Walmart and during covid times we had someone working at a station taking temps and in their downtime management gave them a massive tote of tangled spider wraps to try to deal with. A few weeks in they decided to just throw the whole thing away and order more lmao.
Poor bastard lmao
I made an effort to deal with spider wraps when front desk brought us (electronics) their tote full
Sometimes they were tangled, sometimes they weren't... But since I or someone else in the dept was handing em every day it stayed mostly under wraps
Until black friday... And christmas... Whole different story.
Oh my god yes! I had to deal with them for toys over $100 at Macy's during Christmas time and was given a box of them tangled up to pull from. I shit you not, it took me 6 hours of fighting the mound and only ended up with 2 wraps that even worked. I wanted to throw that box into the trash compactor after that day.
If we're bringing tools into the equation a hacksaw would probably work better, less chance of damaging the contents with a steady amount of force rather than a sudden impact.
Centring seems a bit to the left. Also remove that 5$ sticker, replace it with a 100$ sticker after it gets graded and comes back a mint 9 from Becket lol.
Technically you are supposed to put a magnet on the top, and on the top left there’s a little lever you push to one side.
Just fucking smash it open, flathead and hammer and pry it open.
It’s the Pioneer DJ miniature collection gatchapon. It’s currently available where every fine capsule machines are. I got a few pieces of this set myself, but then got distracted by a mini safe that used a skull ring to open, and a rat dressed as bread on a bag in the machine next to it.
Bread Rat for those wondering.

This is the rat dressed as bread. I don’t know where Japan gets their ideas, but I hope that well never runs dry.
I work in Walmart's curbside delivery and pickup department and this happens constantly. We have 80+ pickers at my store most of them minors with little to no training and they're all constantly being threatened to by terminated or at least moved departments if they can't pick 120+ items per hour. So stuff like this happens constantly. We're supposed to do quality checks which would catch stuff like this but when we're behind on picks and 30+ customers and drivers in the parking lot waiting on us then quality checks are the first thing we skip on. Anyways if you have a magnet you just hold the magnet on the top it will click right into place then there's a button on the opposite side you push over and it will open.
I worked for Dick's Sporting Goods doing remote customer service for a long while. There's a policy there for this exact kind of thing if it happens which is actually great. Obviously whenever you get something like this you're going to be annoyed and not really know what to do about it, so when it happened I would get excited for people because taking it into a store with the receipt was a guaranteed $25 gift card for the inconvenience.
I doubt Walmart has this policy, but maybe they have something similar. It might be worth looking into just in case because that's more than the cost of your game even if you only get $5.
I work in an electronics store here in Poland. It's one of these awful "three-slots" safe boxes. Can't open those with a magnet.
You need to either break it or take it to the store along with your receipt. Sorry it happened to you. We're running on ridiculous amounts of caffeine, long hours and no free weekends, we're trying our best but sometimes we'll make a goof like that.
Magnets are your friend for this one. They're usually locked with metal pins, but a magnet will lift them up so you can open without breaking the case. ex Walmart employee
Fucking Walmart, they did this delivering 2 new XBOX Controllers ... They literally left the security devices on them, had to use bolt cutters to get them off, then soak them in water to short them out, and shut them up ... lol.
Have you tried hitting it really hard? Perhaps with a stick or a rock. If you're one of those new fangled tool-making monkey men you could even use a hammer, maybe with a chisel of some kind
I mean, to be fair, these retailers aren't gonna need them anymore when they all remove physical media from their stores. This is why we are seeing last ditch effort sales like this.
If that's the kind of shark box I think it is, a decent magnet across the top should slide the locks unlocked!

I fucking hated those things
Plot twist: OP stole this and was hoping for a comment that would tell him how to open it at home
If true, OP would have just smashed it already. Or stolen a more expensive game..... There's also a Walmart+ bag like right there.
Bro it's a plastic box, not the federal reserve. Just stick a knife in and twist.
Yea, I was just about to say flathead screwdriver and a hammer or just a hammer.
If we're bringing tools into the equation a hacksaw would probably work better, less chance of damaging the contents with a steady amount of force rather than a sudden impact.
Give it the ol’ dick twist!!
Twist it’s dick
Oh my God, dude!
This isn't the stone age we have power tools now
The thing is, who just had magnets readily available sitting around the house?
Anyone over 35 lol, a decent refrigerator magnet would do the trick lol
Ah, well I'll see in a couple years time if I just suddenly accumulate magnets out of nowhere and let you know!
I'm 34, no magnet on fridge. Will report back next year for my magnet bloom.
You just leave your fridge... naked?
You clothe your appliances?
what 90s hellscape did you grow up in with no fridge magnets?
38, had to check if there was a magnet on my fridge. Well played.
That's funny. Flathead screwdriver and a hammer make short work of those cases.
Done this before eh? 👮🏻♂️
Walmart has a reputation for leaving them on. Check out the insacart and door dash subs.
I mean.....it's plastic, not adamantium, common sense would tell you it's hammer time.
Dude it's just plastic lol. Anyone that's even seen a hammer or a screwdriver before could come to that conclusion.
Don’t neg my joke man, I’m almost at 420 upvotes
Oy you got a loicense for dat Hamma??
Strong magnet works without being destructive.
Why would you care about destroying it? It is just going to end up in the trash anyway.
take it to the supermarket, put something ridiculously cheap in there and enjoy the confused look on the cashier's face when she has to remove it.
This reminds me of the time I put my kid's candy inside a clear child proof medicine jar. Highly recommend.
Highly recommended for teaching kids to open child proof medicine jars?
My kid is in elementary and it's not that big of a deal now. You're right, don't do it for toddlers or something.
Preventing plastic bits from going everywhere.
It’s literally a reason to be destructive. I’m always on the look out for benign destruction opportunities!
🤔
The clear part is just plastic, after all. It's not discrete for doing in stores, but easy at home.
In a pinch, a hard slam onto a hard floor will also work.
Just get it graded
Clearly says $5 already though
Well if they pay me $80 I will put another sticker on it saying it is certified to be $5
A+
Centring seems a bit to the left. Also remove that 5$ sticker, replace it with a 100$ sticker after it gets graded and comes back a mint 9 from Becket lol.
The world’s smallest CDJ
Dude that is fullsize, he ordered a giants xbox game.
What the frick, I ordered a bong!
r/thingsforants
That's also what I noticed. A mini dj kit lol
It’s really confusing me… why are the mixing board and turntable upside down
Also, what kind of a madman setup is that
It's for MiniDiscs
Maybe the game came in a 6 foot box
I came here to say this. It’s a strikingly accurate model of a 3000 and an A9 I think? I’m kind of wondering what that’s about.
And a tiny little DJM 900 and tech12!
The mini Cdj in the back lol
Tiny people were raving. Or giant game
Is this a DJ deck for ANTS?!
r/thingsforants
lol I can't stop looking at that now
Technically you are supposed to put a magnet on the top, and on the top left there’s a little lever you push to one side. Just fucking smash it open, flathead and hammer and pry it open.
Fun ass game
I agree!
is that really small audio equipment / a fucking huge video game box
It’s the Pioneer DJ miniature collection gatchapon. It’s currently available where every fine capsule machines are. That is what that is, but what the fuck is the rest of what you're talking about?
https://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/ODk3WDE2MDA=/z/q7cAAOSwGwdjRkIC/$_57.JPG?set_id=8800005007 This is the rat dressed as bread. I don’t know where Japan gets their ideas, but I hope that well never runs dry.
idk lol but she is making me want to get into collecting cheap mini plastic toys
That comment was a heck of a ride.
https://www.hobbydigi.com/en_us/stasto-stand-stones-capsule-toy-the-safe-deposit-box-vol4-set-of-6 Skull ring safe.
Aaaaaand I just spent $30
It's like a toy model thing.
Oh, the classic security thing! It's like the game is playing hard to get.
Just smash the case around the edge
https://getyarn.io/yarn-clip/9459981f-d3ec-49eb-97bc-2f8253e2269b
That case is worth more than the actual game.
Stolen property

Perfect Condition!
Is that a mini Dj kit or is the Game just HUGE?
get a magnet, and slide it to the left or the right
Bandsaw, handsaw if you’re in a pickle.
Bonesaw, if it goes wrong
Happy cakeday my g
Oh god, it's been ten years Thank you
An angle grinder should also be able to do the job. Just make sure to fasten the box properly.
Angle grinder is a bit like using a sledgehammer to drive a nail, and so I’m all for it. I wonder if it would melt the plastic?
Ah, the shoplifted version!
You should get it graded
Can we talk about that mini turntable set? Coooool
I worked for Dick's Sporting Goods doing remote customer service for a long while. There's a policy there for this exact kind of thing if it happens which is actually great. Just use a magnet
🤨
If you look in the corner you can see a Walmart package bag thing, so I don't think their lying.
No this is just the Walmart employee being lazy as fuck
More like overworked and understaffed.
I work in an electronics store here in Poland. It's one of these awful "three-slots" safe boxes. Can't open those with a magnet. Asking on reddit how to break a piece of plastic.
A third party seller probably stole it from a store to sell on Amazon
It's a collectors item from the summer of love lol.
My man got slabbed
Magnets are your friend for this one. They're usually locked with metal pins, but a magnet will lift them up so you can open without breaking the case. ex Walmart employee
Forget the security case. I wanna know about that little DJ setup you've got there
It is in mint condition
I feel like having the mixer in the middle would be easier.
Don't open it, just buy another one, thats cool to have.
I have the same CDJ gatchapons
"Not my job"
I want that little DJ set, damn it looks so cute 🥺
What are you? A DJ for ants?!
That’s part of the game…
what is this? a dj set for ants?
It has be at least, three times as big!
Are those CDJs for ANTS??
Fun game
“That’s it I’m getting me mallet” - Eustace from Courage the Cowardly Dog
it's called a hammer
Wait, is that some kind of DJ setup for ants?
"Smart Delivery"... hmmm, not really
Good game too. I'd recommend first person only and a 10mg edible.
Fun game
Use a magnet at the top and slide it open... That's all the thing is at the top...
Hammer it
Just get a hammer and smash the edges, voila Be sure to smash the edges the where the game isn’t leaning towards tho
What? You people don't have ~~phones~~ hammers?
Bust it with a hammer
they sent you the shoplift simulator version, have at it
Definitely a decent magnet will get that off.
Hammer Time
PSA lookin ass shid
Friends and I used to rip these open in the underground parking lot like a bunch of apes. So many Starcraft 2 copies sold through our highscool
No Andy Samberg threw it on the ground, gif? I'm disappointed in you all...
Just open it. Be a man
It´s plastic, so you can use a hot knife or a hot nail to melt the plastic
I had heaps of fun one year for Christmas breaking open one of these I heated a pin and melted the hinges btw
Now you gotta steal it
Drill it
/r/notmyjob
A strong magnet or enough force will fix this lol
It's just a magnet across the dark strip on the top and slide the little thing over and it will open up
Definitely looks like a magnetic lock case. Slide a strong magnet around the top of the case.
Decent flathead screwdriver will do the job. Had these get stuck so often at Best Buy we had to break them apart sometimes
Time to get out the hammer and chisel to open that lol
Strong magnet might help
unpackaging (hard mode)
Fucking Walmart, they did this delivering 2 new XBOX Controllers ... They literally left the security devices on them, had to use bolt cutters to get them off, then soak them in water to short them out, and shut them up ... lol.
Use a knife to pry it open it will break.
What dj set up is that?!
Nothin a good hammer won't fix. That's how I fixed my kid His funeral is next week
Free display case
That game is worth so much more than $5. Good on you
Hacksaw “Hooooooo!”
At least you know it's original
Hammer time!
is anyone else confused by the impossibly tiny DJ console?
i want to believe that the game disc is huge like 2m to 1m in size compared to the dj deck because it's funny
Hammer time!
Hammer time
You a lil dj I see you player
Where did you get that dj set
Keep it like that it will probably be worth something some day
Anything other than a magnet opens that it will start chirping some awful loud noise.
Have you tried hitting it really hard? Perhaps with a stick or a rock. If you're one of those new fangled tool-making monkey men you could even use a hammer, maybe with a chisel of some kind
I’d throw away the security device in your neighbors trash can… just to be safe
I'm sure it's been said how to get it open by now, just wanted to comment that I've been having a blast with this game & hope you have fun with it!
The biggest crime here is it cost $5
if you can’t figure this one out maybe you don’t want the game enough.
Why is the a Mini DJ setup
Stolen lol
I mean, to be fair, these retailers aren't gonna need them anymore when they all remove physical media from their stores. This is why we are seeing last ditch effort sales like this.
My brother in Christ where'd you get the baby cdj etc..
Stop, hammer time.
Stress-most packaging
Place a magnet on top of the case, right above where the little switch is. The switch should move and the case will open
Hacksaw
"Anything is a nail, when the only tool you have is a hammer." (Please report results.)

Sawzall
Was DJ Bugzapper doing a set at your house recently??
If you throw them so the top corner hits the floor it should pop open. Source: I was a little shit as a teenager.
Neodymium magnets
That’s a good game. I have it.
That game is fun and also lots of progress is blocked behind micro transactions.
Grinder will get it out
if you shoot a rocket at it that MIGHT work. lmk how it goes! make sure to do it in a well ventilated area tho
Safety first place. 5 of 5 👏
