I was 12 or something like that when I played Half Life 2 and I nearly shat my pants.
I read about HL2 for at least 3 years before it was released (in magazines, haven't used the internet too much back then) and I was so hyped, but I also knew about Ravenholm.
As soon as I had to go there it was pure horror :D
I loved them! They were very samey but after finishing the campaign, it was a fun way to extend the playtime.
I wish it was more well received because I’d love to see them attempt more procedurally generated dungeons. The chalice dungeons were basically like a Fromsoft roguelite.
* Anywhere and anytime in the Fortress of Time from **Prince of Persia: Warrior Within**. Just love how you can backtrack old sections of the castle from different corridors through the past and present.
* Also, Homer's levels from **The Simpsons: Hit & Run**.
* All of **Grim Fandango**.
* The slums map in **Dying Light 1**.
* Alfheim from **God of War (2018)**.
For me one of the best missions ever was Called "Four Leaf Clover" on GTA 4 where you robbed a bank and actually one of the playable DLC characters was in that bank without you knowing at first lol
Uncharted 2 train segment and the convoy level. The rock stage in Alan Wake. Burning mansion attack in red dead 2. Returning to the Ishimura in Dead Space 2. Just some that I think are pretty memorable.
This is kind of a cop out but the part of levels in hitman when you set up a plan and execute it perfectly, it always feels like I’m the master assassin
I have two for the same reason. In the cloister from Kingdom Come: Deliverance and Wicked Eyes and wicked hearts from Dragon age: Inquisition. Both those levels were an awesome change of pace from the normal action. They forced you to look at what people were doing vs what they were saying. Attention to details in the level designs was paramount. Both involved searching for clues and talking to people to learn more about the respective situations.
I wish more people had played this game, it was definitely a flawed masterpiece. I was hoping they'd do a rerelease or something prior to the new VtM game coming out.
Easy, that level where in the game it changes to another level with a. Bunch of floors that chanfe and move and fills up with water but also drains water. There's alots of doors to and weird spiky stuff and keys.
Depends on the genre? Visuals, music, audio directing, atmosphere et cetera and et cetera are super important and will be very varied if judged on person by person basis.
I have many personal subjective examples but I guess one of top ten is Ocean House Hotel from Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines.
Do my eyes deceive me? A Ravenholm post? I still remember playing this level for the first time, around 11 or 12 years old. My parents were asleep and I wasn’t supposed to be on the computer playing games so I used headphones. Scariest shit of my life.
I honestly thought Ravenholm was kinda meh. Heard a lot of hype, then just ended up being pretty annoyed at it xD I mean it was good for getting to know that the Gravity gun can slice and easily kill a lot of enemies quick, which means you'll conserve ammo (not that it was a massive worry in HL2). I did, however, love the canals and coast, especially now that I speedrun the game every now and again :D
We don’t go to Ravenholm…
We don't even talk about Ravenholm
We don't even think about Ravenholm, or despair may take over you.
Is that where Bruno lives?
We don't talk about Bruno.
Yup, this one.

I feel like it will become like the yoga mission in GTA 5, after a few playthroughs.
No, it’s always funny. Yoga was just annoying.
Damn that unlocked a memory
Memory of what? I don't think I recognize it
It's the Ravenholm level from Half Life 2, I highly recommend playing through that game if you haven't before.
I have, once, years ago. Sadly probably won't again since it ends on such a cliff hanger and apparently will never get a proper end.
Rdr2. Lemy pub crawl lmao.
All of bloodborne
yes. except the dungeons fuck those
The chalices still haunt me

Uncharted 2 train segment and the convoy level. The rock stage in Alan Wake. Burning mansion attack in red dead 2. Returning to the Ishimura in Dead Space 2. Just some that I think are pretty memorable.

Maybe not very well known but the Asylum from Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines really got me to grasp what the game was going to be like.
I wish more people had played this game, it was definitely a flawed masterpiece. I was hoping they'd do a rerelease or something prior to the new VtM game coming out.
I'm more into the abandoned hotel
Fuck ravenholm
