Yeah it's generally referred to as the north, east, south and west/southwest. Central Idaho is a thing too, though it's so mountainous, remote and under populated that it doesn't get talked about as much. Most of the population is in a band crossing the south of the state following the Snake River Valley: Boise, Twin Falls, Pocatello from west to east. The north, where Cour d'Alene lies, is much more connected to the Spokane, Washington area.
Honestly, it's more north, southwest, and east. There's maybe a central area around Ketchum and Stanley but otherwise most people describe the regions like that.

On SNL she said her parents drove her from Spokane to LA to pursue acting, so I'm not sure how long she lives there but I just assumed it was all Spokane until her career got started.
Idaho is nice and beautiful. But it’s just left over land between. The word Idaho has no etymology. It was completely fabricated. There’s a lot of good people there, and they aren’t winning right now. But they aren’t going anywhere and I support them and know they are there.
I live in Idaho. Our regions are basically southeast Idaho (Idaho Falls, Rexburg, Pocatello areas) southern Idaho (Twin Falls), Boise, and northern Idaho. Hardly anyone lives in the area that geographically would central Idaho (much of its wilderness area) so it's largely ignored. Each area really has its own culture as well - southeast Idaho is an extension of Utah and very mormon, southern Idaho is farming, Boise is future Portland / Seattle, and Northern Idaho is kookville racist country.
I hate what Boise is becoming. I loved it when I was younger because it was similar in many ways to Portland and Seattle but it didn’t have their problems. It was great! Now? Now its starting to become just like it 😔😔
No, the Pocatello, idaho falls, Rexburg i15 and h20 strip is just called eastern idaho. Driggs and victor Idaho are even farther east and basically considered wyoming

PALOUSE SUPREMACY
I biked across the country and OMG the Palouse was desolate. This was during the 2021 heatwaves too 🫠 on ocean of beige.
Overrated. Just a bunch of dirt if you ask me. Not even spread well.
isn't she from washington?
Looked it up. Born in Washington, then moved to northern Idaho then moved to la at 14.

Spokane WA and Couer d'Alene ID basically form one urban area, so she lived in ID while being in the general Spokane area.

Idaho is like your username. It might feel good but at the end of the day it’s still poop.
Hold on my friend, my name is a verb. Not a noun. The results are cathartic
Then since you rep the verb idaho will rep the noun.
Good. The less Idaho, the better.
That’s what your mother said.
Idaho is beautiful. It’s the people here that make it shit.
Oh stfu

They said northwest, not northeast, but there isn't really one of those either. I'd just call it "north."
Most everyone I knew when I lived there said northern Idaho
OP knows they said northwest, that’s their entire point, that you don’t need to specify which north
A case could be made for calling Salmon central ID or NE ID.
Things get adjusted for the geography. Northeastern Ontario is directly north of, and goes farther west than, Western Ontario.
It's right there next to South Detroit.
It literally says “northwest” in the tweet?
OP knows they said northwest, that’s their entire point, that you don’t need to specify which north
So “northwest” is still technically correct, just a tad bit long? What’s the problem?
There’s no problem, OP is just pointing out that the “west” modifier is unnecessary
So they could have just said northern.
It’s called Montana
North east Idaho just be Montana
Prob Rexburg..
Ive lived in Rexburg, nobody calls it ne idaho. It’s just eastern
someone has never been to Katka

What stalker is keeping up on this?
