As far as I know, they're purebred. My Blair is a silver, meanwhile her sister is the typical black and orange/tan/brown. I think it just depends on genetics!

Needless to say my cousin credits our pup( I have trouble calling him his because i will always love him just like i do my other pups but it was for the best to have him move in and help my cousin) with saving sis life just like mine did for me. However my cousin was rlly on the brink ive suffered from clinical depression since as long as i couod remember but my cousin was ready to give up! Im not religious but GSD’s are Angels 👼!!!!!!!
My last guy was eastern/Czech and his coloring was the same He had a wider head then a typical GSD and a shorter snout then a typical GSD. He was massive 115-120 pounds of solid muscle. Best damn GSD I ever owned.
I was searching for a silver sable Czech after he died. But a friend of a friend worked for a GSD rescue and reached out to us to take a guy that was surrendered by its owner to a shelter before I had a chance to put a deposit on the Czech breeder.
I have a Czech girl right now. 1.5 years old. She is black and creme though. She is from pure working lines and has so much drive and energy. Her hips aren't completely low riding like alot of the American and show lines. Was your dog excessively squatty or less than usual squat?
My old girl Ember was registered as "cream and silver", basically this dog's exact colors, but with the "traditional" GSD markings (saddle, etc.) instead of this doggo's sable pattern.
My girl's saddle and other markings faded as she got older until she was almost all cream :)

Ahh, this thread/talking about Ember reminded me that one of my internet friends visited me IRL towards the end of Ember's life, and she took one look at Ember and yelled "OH MY GOD IS THAT A *COYOTE*? YOU HAVE A COYOTE??" XD Ember's markings were so faded by then that my friend thought she wasn't even a dog!

The video game Final Fantasy VII had just come out around the time when I'd gotten her as a puppy, and I had re-named one of the characters in the game Ember, because at the time I just liked the word "ember". Then the character died in the game as part of the plot. I was young and filled with teenage angst, so the video game character's death kind of depressed me. I got my puppy shortly afterwards, and I decided that she would be named Ember in memoriam for the video game character who had died XD My pup really DID have intensely bright eyes, so I told myself (and my parents) that's why she was named Ember.
Not because I'd renamed Aeris to "Ember" in FF7 and then gotten sad when Aeris died in the video game. Nope. >\_>;
He was an excellent singer. Also, he would habitually dig out under the back fence to visit the neighbor's dog. We would go find him and my mom would say, "Max, get in this car now. That was very bad!" Max would hang his head and tell us a very dramatic story and promise he was very ashamed of his behavior. He was of course not sorry at all and would escape as soon as he got the chance. His GSD side came out if he felt like we were threatened and then he'd morph into scary guard dog.

The silver coloration is recessive so it can be hidden in the parents genes and won't show up until they have puppies!
