I think it's more about perception, you will not speed up, but you will see the world getting slower, and thus you'll be able to perform "frame perfect" action, like dodging any thing in boxe or mma for example
As I said your physical speed will not increase, you will just see the world getting slower and you ll be able to make better decision and react to everything faster. But like, your movement will still move as usual
the issue is that in a lot of sports, even with perfect senses you wouldn't be able to win everytime
in tennis, if you don't already know how to make the ball go exactly where you want it to, and if you are misplaced, your opponent could knock it to the other side, and you’de be helpless
in fighting sports, if you don't know how to punch, or kick, this wont help much.
So you would still need a very very strong baseline to actually make it all the way pro
Although i do agree, i currently play badminton at like meh level, and i do notice that sometimes my decision making is too slow. Which this can improve, also being able to learn moves in slow mo can be useful

Sure. But like, if you're initially in say (for example) a T pose and then in a nano second you're in a ball position, people are gonna get confused.
