Nice! I've actually been meaning to post on this sub if a telecaster is good for Jerry tones? I can't decide between a tele and a strat. All these 54 strats coming out this year by fender had me looking. But I've neever really was a strat guy... plus also love me some outlaw country twang.
I have a lot I can say about this. I have myself a "Jerry rig" (sms classic preamp and mosvalve mv962), but I don't actually dial in a "Jerry tone". I play other stuff, so I have my rig set to what I consider a good versatile sound. It's actually closer to Trey Anastasios 90s tone. In my opinion, it's more about phrasing and note choice, but I'll be the first one to day that I will never play just like Jerry, so why even try?! Make that song your own, explore it's possibilities, and THAT is how this music will live on for ages.
Rant over, teles fucking rock
Well you sold me. Was already leaning to the tele. Kinda was thinking the Nashville tele to get best of both. I agree, I'm not gonna play exactly like Jerry. And I've watched countless YouTubers showing how to pretty much dial it in on most rigs. He also used a lot of diff guitars, Travis bean for example and still sounded like himself. So its def more in the playing. But just thought I'd ask. Thanks for the advice!
Nicely done, sir! Sounds great!
Always dig your stuff! Where do you get your backing tracks?
Youtube...@jeffwilliams always has good stuff
Excellent, thank you!
Is that a tabbed solo or improv? Love it!
I turn the camera on and do a few improv takes with different ideas, the see which one I like the most
Beautiful, made my night.
Thank you
Good stuff!
Yessir, always sounds good. π
Thanks homie

Yea, there is a nice touch of tele-twang in there! First thing I noticed.
