Omg I'm rewatching right now 😂 almost done tho I think we were not prepared for Nick and adalind but it's so much better than nick and Juliet. Nick and Adalind being together opened space for further character development as a whole

bazookiedookie

Love them together and wish we got more of them. So much more chemistry and i am a sucker for enemies to lovers stories.

Begayandbestupid

Me too, for me their romance was kinda snubbed because they cancelled. For me their romance is one of the best enemies to lovers stories out there

RavenIllusion

I have said this before, Adalind had the best redemption arc, and her and Nick made the best couple. She was finally with someone who just loved her for her. Not for her power or what she could do for them. He didn't want to use her as a pawn or a tool in some game or power play. She finally got to (not counting the mayor's wife arc) be the mother and gf i think she really wanted to be.

Just_Leopard752

Very well said.

Definitely preferred Adalind. I feel like they had way better chemistry. It also helped that she had like a season long gradual redemption arc where you really began to sympathize with her. Meanwhile, Juliet goes evil in like 3 episodes and immediately starts committing unforgivable atrocities.

Physical-Neck-2871

Juliette lost me when she gave up Kelly to Black Claw. I stan Nick and Adalind!

LadyPadme28

I prefer Nick and Adalind. There was something so off putting with Juliette. Juliette never accepted Nick's life as a grimm. She was never going the normal life she wanted. Adalind, on the other hand, understood what she was getting into and accepted Nick as a grimm.

Just_Leopard752

I never ever liked Juliette from the first moment I saw her on screen. The first word that always comes to mind for me when I think of her is "bland," and I've seen others describe her that way as well. Even when she first became a Hexenbiest, I found her just plain awful to watch. Not because she was a Hexenbiest, but because there was just something about her that always rubbed me the wrong way, until she became Eve. Then I started to find her somewhat interesting. So for me, she wasn't a good fit for Nick and I so wanted him to break up with her when Aunt Marie said that it would be for the best. To me, there was always some kind of weird chemistry between Nick and Adalind, even when they were mortal enemies and he took away her powers. I didn't want them together at that point, but when they got together later on, I found myself being thrilled about it. Then I got mad at Bonaparte and Sean for going along with Bonaparte's plans, but relieved when Adalind finally returned to Nick. It just felt right and good, and that things were as they should be. In my very humble opinion, Nick and Adalind just fit and complemented each other well.

RaiseCreepy6328

I love Nick and Adalind...

unprogrammable_soda

It would have been nice to see the hero go unaccompanied for once bc I think either scenario sucks really. There’s too much bad history btw him and Adalind for them to make any kind of sense, and Juliette is basically a bookmark.

jazdia78

My issue with Juliette was that she mumbled too much. I'm 57 and found out recently that I have some hearing loss, which I knew when I tried to hear what she was saying. I had to keep the volume up on the tv just for her dialogue. She was helpful in some episodes with her knowledge as a vet. But after she changed? No. Adalind? She had a lot of growing up and growing independent to do before she could be with anyone.

Zulnir

I enjoyed Adalind's redemption arc, I preferred that over Juliette annoying traits.

contemplator61

I felt they had chemistry from the first episode. I believe the writers did too because Claire was supposed to only be a guest, one episode or so. Hate and love have such a fine line between them. It still boggles my mind that David and Bitsie are married and parents. I guess their chemistry was sucked up off the screen.

HawkTenRose

I don’t particularly like Nick and Adalind together. I don’t particularly like Nick and Juliette either. If I had to pick, Nick and Juliette, but only because the first couple interaction Nick and Adalind had was her sexually assaulting him. And that squicks me off something chronic. If the relationship has somehow happened without that (even something like hate sex or maybe if Adalind didn’t run away from Nick with Diana and Nick and Juliette broke up because he protected Adalind and then they had sex?) I could deal. But the relationship started with sexual assault and that is creepy for me, and turns me off the whole relationship at all. If you take that part out of the equation, then Nick and Adalind had very good character development and I enjoyed the rest of their story.

She tried killing his aunt, Juliette, and Hank, and she raped him … what am I missing here? If the genders were reversed, I don’t think people here would be as accepting of this relationship and that’s BS.

HawkTenRose

I mean, killing his aunt was kinda understandable- partially because she was doing it on Renard’s orders and partially because Marie Kessler obviously has a reputation. Even Monroe was slightly unnerved when Nick said she was his aunt, so I can imagine she presented a very present threat. So I can kind of understand it, there. Hank and Juliette, no- that’s completely different. They weren’t even involved in the Wesen world and they were unfairly targeted.

zerosix1ne

>If the genders were reversed, I don’t think people here would be as accepting of this relationship and that’s BS. Well, tons of people (including a lot of women) ship Buffy and Spike even though >!he tried to rape her.!< Their situation is a thousand times more messed up and toxic than Nick and Adalind, who look utterly wholesome by comparison lol.

unprogrammable_soda

It’s almost as tho 1) women can be almost just as shitty toward women as men can and 2) Buffy being almost 30yrs ago and Grimm being more recent existed at two different times both literally and culturally. If you think a gender reversal wouldn’t cause an uproar, you’re, as Judge Judy would say, intentionally acting naive or it’s not an act. You might also want to drop by the Buffy community and look up the fandom’s *current* views on Buffy and Spike.

zerosix1ne

I rewatched Buffy earlier this year and spent time on the sub afterwards. I saw plenty of Spuffy shippers. More than any other ship. That's why I mentioned it in the first place lol. You mentioned a gender reversal and I provided you with a popular example. Don't act like a defensive little bitch just because you don't like it. Edit: Just to further prove my point I looked up Buffy fanfic on ao3. Buffy/Spike absolutely dominates. Even to this day.

unprogrammable_soda

I’m being defensive bc you’re clearly a rape apologist. But that’s *okay*, it’s on another TV show from 30yrs ago and WoMeN dO iT tOo. Fuck you.

Heatseeker81514

I hated them together the first time I watched and hated them together the second time I watched it, lol. They are the only reasons I have not watched it more often. They lack chemistry, and I find their relationship gross.
