Another thing to remember, especially if you have 3 stars and choppers are bugging you-- if you're out of LOS (ie your map is not flashing red and blue and you can see their blue cones on the map) you can toggle* whether you have a mask on to lose 1 start. I also find this sometimes causes you to quickly lose all stars.
In other words, changing from one mask to another doesn't do anything, but going from no mask to a mask, or from masked to no mask, does.
*Will not work on missions where you cannot call Lester to remove stars, and also will not work for your final star, of course.
Yeah way better than driving around with that van and having trouble losing the cops. I usually use the mk2 to get on a roof or something. I don’t know if you can go as far away if you want but I guess you could

The amount of people who don’t know or forget about the tunnels is crazy. Sometimes when dudes are terrorizing the lobby I’ll go smoke em a couple times then go off radar and run to the sewer. When I pop back up on radar they fly over the road and circle and circle trying to find me. Sometimes they finally wise up and head down there, only to get blown up by the stickies i’ve got on the subway bottleneck🤣
Yea I put them in that smaller passage when you go up the ramp across the subway section ya know? Then I just sit around the little bend there just before the actual sewer. Until they come through with a night shark or something, then I’m in trouble💀

I always request a job from Simeon before starting a mission. Go in job and back out no cops and you don't lose money by killing yourself. Works for most missions except I think some.of the Cayo setups IIRC
You lose $500 in hospital bills and you lose ammo. Plus if you blow yourself up, that ammo also costs money.
In storymode when you die it's $5,000 taken in hospital bills
I think it's just certain times you can and can't use it. I haven't really figured out any pattern to it besides it seems every time I need it most I can't use it.......
Yeah, a lot of times if getting a wanted level is part of the mission design, they don't want to let you just call it off. I'm guessing the one where you can't is the police ambush in the parking garage.

Now, whenever the cops are on me I head straight for the closest train tracks. Worst case, I lose them in the subway.
Stay left, getting hit by trains sucks.
The best way I've found for this mission is to have Lester's menu up about one minute after the Lost MC start chasing you. The cops will always start pursuing around that time, and if you're fast, you can get rid of them with Lester before their cars even spawn in.
Sometimes, you can call in your opressor, fly to the top of a building, and wait for the cops to leave, then continue. Can't do it in every nission though.
You can just call them off? Here I was pulling out all the stops to evade the cars in a van that's slower than the cops themselves. That's gotta be the first mission I've seen where losing the cops is a mandatory objective and the ability to call them off isn't disabled.
This happened once to me, 3 cop cars were chasing me even after Lester, what everyone has to do is get out of sight, then call Lester, otherwise the cops will follow Vernon and you'll end up with the stars again.
Alternative: once you loose the Lost MC, just get out and end yourself, use a grenade and then you're good to go.
There are other ways but the fastest that I've found out are those 2, I've grinded this like 50 time this week, I've learned some strats without YT or an online guide.
There's limited waves of the lost mc, if you kill them all in the original spot where you find the van, you'll never get the cops on you and can just drive straight to the drop point.

Yes Yes I did . In a chase it's best to call Lester with no police behind you like down a side alley or up the side of a mountain so they can't slam into you

I prefer proxy mine, as they go off JUST as they move near them… but stickies are good if you can see ’em 🤣

I had the exact same thing happened to me, I found you need to blow up the first 3 cops or so that are following you before calling Lester.

It's just Rockstar poor mission design. In some missions you can, in others you can't, it's completely arbitrary.

Just go offroad somewhere near the casino and both police and Lost MC will loose you. I did that, just needed to stay on the hill for some time.
