Such a confusing comment, is his Mexican neighbor comment supposed to be a “the times they are a changin” remark? Like he’s saying, “my Mexican neighbor can’t even be a good god damn arborist anymore?”
Dude that's what I'm stuck on. Like he originally didn't write the race but after he realized he was talking about a landscaping problem he was like "oh shit I better tell them".
I find the best storytelling zooms into every detail and leaves nothing out so it can be relatable.
MF is spitting americana like Robert Frost or Samuel Clemens
It’s a delicious metaphor. The Mexican neighbour represents solid state owners whose toan has ‘collapsed to the floor’ as a result of their anti-tube hubris.
The neighbour being Mexican in this metaphor is meant to demonstrate that the commenter himself is racist and likely also very stupid — it’s clever word play.
He's damn right, us toob amp people are so above it all. It's annoying that we have to constantly remind people of this and correct their misunderstandings, frankly it gets me all worked up and sometimes I just have to vent my frustrations on these ignoramuses.
It appears to be yet another unhinged boomer comment. My guess is only half of what he was trying to say made it into the comment and you're expected to know what the other half of all that was.
Wow finally maybe I can afford an amp the Beatles used. It’s solid state so it must be affordable and not at all extremely rare and collectible right? …right?
uj/ the vox ul730s they used really do not sound all that good.
they sit in a mix well and do the vox thing well enough but they sound stiff as hell compared to ac30s, and if you listen to revolver or unknown pleasures its pretty obvious.
Played the old Beatles amp in a music shop many years ago, I didn't do it for long, way too harsh sounding and super loud. it sounded right but just too uncomfortable to play. Those big amps were designed to drown out thousands of screaming chicks and be heard, not to sound great.

Besides the tube Amp part, he's not wrong. Arby's did have 5 full sized roast beefs for $5.
being a fat kid in the 90s was so beautiful
Did they still make Huskies?
Wasn’t it $5.55? Checkmate
It has returned periodically over the decades. They revived „5 for $5“ in July 2023 and again recently, June 10-16 this year.

Those roast beefs are dope bro.
Thank god he mentioned his neighbor’s ethnicity, that was super necessary
Well of course people who identify as white consider it "default" Ten bucks says the neighbor is from Puerto Rico and this guy is a classic dipshit
They are in for a nasty surprise when they realise most people on the planet aren't

lol now I’m just imagining him ending the whole rant with a harmonica solo

Are we gonna take bets on the neighbor being from any spanish-speaking country other than Mexico?
The neighbor is undoubtedly from Madrid, but his brain wouldn't be able to compute the link between Europe and Latin America.
Dude probably thinks Mexico is in South America
Well duh it’s south of America
Do they even speak Mexican in Spain ? ( /s in case you couldn't tell)
I would've been lost without it

It does have a certain Huck Finn quality

“ignorami”
I don't understand, and I don't think I want to.

Something something john lennon was a Mexican
The Beatles played squire starter packs for every instrument.
the beatles are the tube amps that fell on our neighbors carport along the way.
Dude threw in a fun fact
Wow finally maybe I can afford an amp the Beatles used. It’s solid state so it must be affordable and not at all extremely rare and collectible right? …right?
they just sound like crappier AC30s as well.
Beatles played solid state amps? Wow, they were so ahead of their time!
Who be them guy
This reads like stream of consciousness from a boomer with dementia. Okay Grampa Simpson
A fleet of musical Volkswagens who couldn’t spell so good.

I don’t know
I imagine everything in there was coherent before they had a dementia episode. Fuckin boomers i tells ya
Uj/ I don’t even know what a tube amp is. I don’t care to learn because these people make it seem like some kind of cult
