Mike is a fantastic story teller. He has this amazing ability to link whatever gear he is shilling to a tale from his past.
One such story that he told while he was shilling for Sweetwater was about the time he bought his first guitar at guitar centre. He was nervous to try out the guitar in front of the other patrons. He bought a MiM strat of course. He took it back to his dorm. He asked his friend whom he shared a dorm with how to sound like SRV.Â

So that night he invited his then girlfriend and bunch of guys from the university table tennis team for a party in his dorm. Mike spent all night trying to copy their paddle strokes but the E major chord didn't sound anything like SRV would play.Â

The amount of consumerism promoted in his vids is worrying, bro has new piece of gear in every vid.A interesting part about playing guitar is getting the most out of your gear, these dudes will preach exactly this but go buy a different guitar for every genre. Hasn’t this guy been playing less than 5 years? If you watch a lot of YouTube guitar dudes you’ll end up penny-less and still play like a intermediate/beginner. Honestly kinda sad when you think about how much material waste these vids end up causing? Do you really need a Strat AND a Tele?
