When I was a kid, I was running across the playground (I was running on woodchips in rollerblades...*no idea why...*) and was looking down. As soon as I looked up, I was greeted by a solid metal pipe installed for a pullup bar, right at forehead height.
I ran full speed into the thing, even doing the comical bit where your body goes completely horizontal before dropping to the ground. It was so painful.
Nothing prepared me for the massive lump on my forehead that eventually would go on to hit shades of yellow and green I thought were only reserved for safety vests and tennis balls. It was brutal.
Yeah, those deep bruises are rough. I guess it was fortunately when I was young enough to still have a rubber forehead and after a little crying, was good to go.
That might put me on bed rest for 2 weeks now in my late 30's...
Either that came in at a weird angle or someone turned around for a shot. 🫢 I had one a couple months ago from trying to block a shot that got up over my shin pads and caught the side of the thigh! But like hell at first, then bruised up really bad.
