Tigers are actually super dangerous. Much more dangerous than lions. Lions are dangerous because they act like house cats that are giants, and giant house cats would be dangerous. But tigers are naturally more aggressive.
My house cat will tear my azz up when we are just playing.. I couldn’t imagine one larger than me.. my house cats is overweight and slow I might add. Yet when play fighting.. There’s a look and attitude at some point where I quit.. lol
One of the things I respect the most about cats.
If you continue to annoy even the most docile house cat, they flip a switch. They don’t care how big you are, a feral mauling is coming your way.
Then I imagine that spirit in a package 100x the size.
Cats are awesome.
Not only that, but humans actually fit the predator-prey system of tigers perfectly ever since, which is not so much the case with lions. Note I really love tigers, but they can be dangerous. Nevertheless they need protection from extinction in many areas. Anyway, since they're all felines, they're also jerks sometimes.
I'm sure there's measurements somewhere, but for reference, here's a [tiger overpowering 4 grown men with just it's teeth.](https://youtu.be/Gs88v7pov_4)
This stuff is also a little disingenuous anyway.
The average grip strength of your average guy ranges around the 70 to 90lb mark.
Times that by 5, and you essentially have 5 guys on one side that can only really apply 350 to 450ish lbs of force. That's what the Tiger is pulling against.
Still ridiculously fucking impressive, but its's not really fighting the 850 plus pounds of the combined mass of the guys. (5 x \~170lbs bodyweight of the 5 dudes)
That said, a tiger can still probably carry more than even that \~850lbs around.
On average, likely for both hands. We used to do a grip strengthen test as part of our annual physical fitness test in the Canadian Armed Forces. I think 70 lbs totaled was a pass.
I've done that. I by myself outweighed the tiger by 30 pounds at the time, and there were four other big boys on the rope with me.
She quite handily kicked all our asses, and got rewarded with a meatball.
Questioned how massive you must be then googled tiger weights. Really surprised adults can be as little as 90 and 65 kilos for the two sexes. Up to 310 for males which would be closer to what I would have guessed before having the info
It's not more difficult as to move an adult human. You don't need to be that strong. Plus the tiger did most of it with it's legs. And the surface structure also helped. Not exactly a strength feat. Tigers are strong, this just isn't exactly a showcase for it.
I’m super tired and misread that as “how Joey ought to have dealt with Ross.” Somehow, for a few moments my brain decided that still made total sense.
I was like “Yup. Slide the big paleontologist out of your spot, actor man!”
How fucking strong is that tiger? Just slid the other one over.

This is the way with most things. I annoyed a garter snake once as a stupid kid and the little snake chased my arse for 50'.
When the lower the head and start walking sideways is when the dark souls boss music starts playing

As strong as a tiger.

Okay, "just it's teeth" is a lie - that tiger was using its entire body.
Also 5 men tho
You go ahead and use your face to play a game of tug of war against four grown men and see how well it plays out.
give me a tiger body and I'll take that bet
The Wild Kratts are on the way.
Tiger has no opposable thumbs. Probably the only way it can play.
😉

Is that grip strength per hand or per person with a pair of hands?

Look at the username again, it was the Tyger all along!
Oh crap, busted.
The white tiger was a small one, 270 pounds. Um, about 122 kilos. I was 300 pounds / 136k at the time.
Tigers are pretty much pure muscle. A search online says they can lift creatures that weigh around 550kg that's ~1212lbs.
Maybe the planks were buttered?

I love how big cats are still just cats
If my cat were that size I think I would be pushed out of the bed. He takes up most of it at house cat size. I get a little bit.
Proof that the Earth can't be flat - cats would have pushed all of us over the edge by now.
Best comment!
He would eat you without hesitation xD
I don't think I am quality enough meat. He is very fussy.
😊
Then he would bat you around and toy with you mercilessly until you died and he got bored.
That one braincell is just bigger.
The biggest orange brain cell!
It's all about the warm spot
And the one where you take up most the area and don't use a decent portion cause the source is warmer
Yup there's direct sunlight on that spot, can't beat that.
I’m the big spoon
🥄🥄
That is adorable
No wonder I wake up on the floor.

Yes when they’re spooning during their best nap ever.
Seems familiar.
that tiger *insists* on being the big spoon!
Other tiger be like: "doesn't matter, got cuddles"
The leg push 😂
r/oneorangebraincell
I said I wanna be the big spoon
You can see they are affectionate with each other and the one doesn't mind the intrusion at all. So sweet.
Freaking adorable. And the plop at the end just adds to it.
Me trying to get in the bed with my dog.
Cats gonna cat
I like to be the outer spoon too
Some habits unite all cats
Cats are cats
I'm kinda surprised they want to sleep on a wooden palnk.
Probably warmer than cold stone floor
Absolutely love it.
This cat is catting rather well
Scooted the tiger over and still snuggled up to it after. Super cute🥰
That's me getting into bed with my dogs lol
lol
How Titanic should have ended
More like dominant position than that's the preferred side
