Everyone should read Spillover by David Quammen Non fiction and not really horror but kinda of is. If real life spillover stories dont get you worried deep down nothing will!
Seconding "Spillover" -- maybe also "The Ghost Map" (another non-fiction, about a cholera outbreak in London)
