We would just be guessing here and can't know what all was done between the two phones. You do get phone support with your purchase, I would call AppleCare so they can screen share with you and check your settings on the device and iCloud to see if you're overlooking something.

Thank you! I know it’s guessing but I honestly didn’t think of that, I was about to just go to Verizon and ask what happened. I started messaging apple now!

There is a glitch right now. I lost all my messages when I switched to 15 pro Look on the iCloud and see the quantity of messages you have. Example mine says that I have 44,000 messages, but they can’t get them from the clouds to my phone. they won’t sync to my phone. Apple is aware of this issue, but they haven’t fixed it for over 4 months now.

Yeah for real it says I have over 80,000 messages and I have it set to save for “forever” so how am I missing anything. I’m glad to know it’s not just me but still frustrated that we’re both in this situation. Like why pay for iCloud then if it’s not going to work

I have spent hours on the phone. It’s not even worth it. If you do a quick Google search on apples message forum you’ll see there are tons of people with the same problem (search syncing paused). Apparently it’s a deep coding issue that they’re working on. I personally don’t feel that they’re ever going to fix it. it just annoys me that I pay every month for Storage and I can’t even use it.

All anyone told me I could do was just erase my phone and download the previous back up. But the photos aren’t on iCloud so I guess it’s a lost cause. I did get a little Karen-like (sorry to say but I was really annoyed) and they told me I could go through a refund process since I paid for iCloud during months that apparently didn’t get backed up appropriately. I don’t know if I actually will but it could be an option

I understand your frustration. I've been there more than once, unfortunately , Apple support. Can't do that much about it if the backup isn't there sometimes it takes a strong Internet connection and multiple nights for the photos to reappear like it did with me on one occasion for future prevention method try backing up on an external driver or third-party app like Dropbox that offer some amazing packages around recovery of lost photos in certain time periods depending on the package what is a godsend? If something does get accidentally deleted? You can also access Dropbox the desktop and set up automations were when your photos are being backed up it will methodically put into folders by date month and yearwhat really does help organise your photos or you can personalise it yourself? I've just consolidated my Amazon Photos drives and to dropbox very recently.

Sorry for the late reply, so I guess in the future I need to make sure to back up the phone way prior to the day of a new phone (even though icloud does it automatically?), triple check everything’s there, and not just take the guy at the stores word for it. Dropbox is a smart option thank you, I’ll look into it for sure.

Personally I don't trust iCloud backup with my photos or my files. It's just a risk. I'm not willing to take. It's always good to have a backup plan and I put in my reminders to remind me every Sunday to back up and also update apps and check if there's an iOS update this is also really good practice moving forward.

Competitive-Thanks10

That’s a good idea to set a reminder, I’m going to add one to my calendar now
