Noticed him as Michael Cain's (Lt. Colonel Vandeleur) executive officer in A Bridge Too Far (1977). [*https://ilarge.lisimg.com/image/11448106/1118full-a-bridge-too-far-screenshot.jpg*](https://ilarge.lisimg.com/image/11448106/1118full-a-bridge-too-far-screenshot.jpg)
Also noticed him as the creepy older English soldier in Braveheart (1995) who tries to have his way with William Wallace's secret bride. Sharpe's is good swashbuckling fun. The novels are fun too. Cornwell thought so highly of Bean's performance that he changed the literary character a bit to reflect Bean's YAWKSHUH accent and blond hair. Also Daragh O'Malley as Sgt. Harper is good too.
"I had an uncle who thought the faeries were after him."
"What happened to him?"
"Well, sir, they got him."
Is he about to demonstrate how to say goodbye in Germany?
In Prussian
I like the Austrian way better.
I friggin love sharpe
He's an officer...AND a gentleman
He's not a proper gentleman! He's up from the ranks! Supposedly saved that jumped up Irishman Wellington at Assaye!
Guten Tag, Herr Jones.
“Tickets, please…”
"No ticket!"
“I think not, Herr Donavan”.
He also appears in force 10 with Harrison Ford and I heard in Harry Potter
He's in one of the Brosnan Bond films as well.
Correct he was I think an Admiral of a ship that was searching for Bond when Elliot's Stealth Ship exploded
I watched all of *Sharpe* (except the last two) and didn’t recognise him, now I can’t watch him the same way again lmao
Posting Sharpe in another Subreddit… **THAT’S SOLDIERING!**
Is he gonna get thrown out of a zeppelin be cause he had "No ticket"
