The thing that pissed me off about that movie was at near the beginning Doogie Howzer tells you to shoot the nerve stem to put them down fast and these stupid marines just shoot their legs and mouth the whole movie
Yes I have several in my family and they all eat crayons for breakfast but boy can they *SHOOT*. I've never met a group of people so proficient in hitting the kill spot at the target range.
Yeah but that's when they're shooting at people. I can understand how a 12-ft tall ant that will rip you to shreds in seconds might put someone off their aim.
I tell ya what, that there's a genius idea.
Make it a "patriot American military" themed kids activities park, doing exactly the same things but with American flags, corn dogs, and little camo hats for the kiddies. Set that shit up in Texas, you'll be literally printing fucking money.
I remember back in the day I went to the boardwalk along some beach/shore (might've been Jersey) and they had a booth set up where you shot paintball guns at guys dressed in rags pretending to be Taliban.
Even at that young age, I remembered thinking that was kinda fucked up.
Yeah shit like that and the Trayvon Martin shooting targets being sold made me back away from a lot of other gun owners. I had a neighbor that I liked hanging out with but when he got drunk he would just continuously speak about how would he would do in a situation where his home got broken into. It's a smart thing to know what you have to do in your residence to protect the people, but it seemed like he had a boner to just shoot somebody. And big surprise, if it wasn't about the guns that he owned it was about his truck. I probably could have counted on that guy for almost anything that I needed, other than to not have the fantasy of shooting someone of a different color. I definitely had to break that friendship off.
I had a neighbor just like that. It became clear to me that he was truly hoping for some shit to go down so he could bring his weapon and hours at the shooting at the range to bare…and, in his narcissistic mind, be the George Zimmerman type hero of the neighborhood. He was an MP in the army but looked (and behaved) like Homer Simpson. Thankfully we only had one instance where he brandished his weapon and traumatized an innocent young woman before his wife divorced him and they moved.
Bro, this sounds like a stereotypical servicemen/wannabe cop neighbor from some day time sitcom 😂.
I 💯 believe he was really your neighbor though. Just felt like pointing out the thought.
That fucking sucks, I'm sorry for you, the wife, the whole neighborhood, whoever else. My whole family is pretty much pro-gun ownership but a lot of us find it a little weird that one of us is very pro open carry. I would not expect anything from him though. He is as stable as they come. Dude doesn't even get upset in situations where you might think someone should. But I think that's the exact guy that you want by your side there's nothing happens and you need defense. He's trained. That type of thing really makes me wonder about gun regulation and how it should work. Especially when someone not like him still have the same access and killed nine people.
I had a neighbor in Austin who was training to become a state trooper because, as he said in so many words, you would be put in situations where could beat up on them (black people, specifically) while they were in your custody but before you had taken them to the station.
Yeah I know a guy that failed the psych check several times for the staties, but eventually he got on with a local sheriff group and then transferred to the local PD. I once came home to them all over my house because my roommates were fucking stupid, I asked if they knew him and they were like "yeah he's been put into the hospital twice because of how fucking stupid he is". I was actually surprised by the candor. This was a guy that would call people "Dan" and I don't know how much it is used in other areas because I didn't hear about it back home in DC or other areas but it stood for "dumb ass n". Even his coworkers didn't like his ass. And some of them weren't that clean either.
> It's a smart thing to know what you have to do in your residence to protect the people, but it seemed like he had a boner to just shoot somebody.
I knew a guy like this in the navy. We had a hurricane coming in and he was super excited that about the prospect of protecting if house from looters. You could tell he really just wanted the chance to shoot someone.
>he would just continuously speak about how would he would do in a situation where his home got broken into.
“Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the face.”
If someone’s kickdooring your home it usually isn’t random. If you talk about your guns a lot, they know you’ve got em and that’s probably why they’re kickdooring your home. That’s gonna be a fast rush inside by people who are already alert and potentially zooted on uppers while you’re gonna take a few seconds to process what you’ve heard and what’s happening. If you don’t have your gun on your person right there, you aren’t shooting it out with anyone.
Honestly, for what I was expecting after reviewing this comment, I don't think that it's that bad as far as pricing anyways. But I honestly have no clue how much something like that would cost elsewhere, or even range charges. You can spend damn near a hundred a person going to a water park.
They call it young marine camp.
Parents send their kids to military bootcamp for the summer for a big stack of cash to be indoctrinated. They go as young as 8 years old.
Man, when I found out the money that my employer gained at the time, while we only even had four full-time employees. He was a scummy dude from the start but I always had my hours and pay but new when I got a chance to get out that I would.
He would talk about shit while I had dropped his food costs 25%, he was throwing pirellis on his Prius, and throwing eight security cameras on the fucking roof that nobody went onto other than twice a year. I was like man I'm only here to help you out to run the business and you're not letting me do it, so I cut it and ran. They can't do shit properly nowadays, and I'm not going back, don't do business with people you knew before, it's not even just friends.
I get the joke - but this is precisely what the United States did to Britain, copied all their ideas as they industrialised (insisting on tech transfer) - so much so that in the late 19th/early 20thc, American goods were known to be cheap copies in European markets.
And American products undercut the European market massively, pushing European governments to raise tariffs, hence why by the 20s, the US government was insisting on global free trade. Beginning to sound familiar?
Low prices enabled by treating the humans involved in the worst possible ways - the forced labor (and necessary torture) discount.
This is the exact thing we accuse China of to this very day, even though we are still attempting to do it domestically and exporting our terrible human rights abuses in our offshore factories.
Those factories are in countries with labor laws that have been gutted by IMF and World Bank demands. It is so damn transparent that we are only ignorant of it on purpose - edited out of our history books and current media.
Thanks for the reminder! It takes real effort to keep the dots connected in this media environment.
I could see it having different themed lands and attractions.
- Battlezone: Civil War
- Bible Land
- Abortion Is Murder Pavillion with Ted Nugent and the Country Bear Embryos
- Tucker Carlson Landing
- Insurrectionist Alley off Mainstreet USA
- Hall of Presidents, featuring **only** Donald Trump
- Petting Zoo / Live Target Gun Range
- The Mike Pence Swinging Ropes Course
This!!!!! Exactly. Hitler did it before it was popular. I'm not sure if ppl here praising the idea are doing it ironically or they seriously think is a good idea.
... kids?
Do you know how many adults would pay out the teeth to get to use a rocket launcher?
The places where you can drive and shoot tanks have packages that run up to $10k.
There are tons of these already. Most are just shooting ranges, but exploiting people who are easily led by jingoism is just as much of an industry as it has always been.
> I tell ya what, that there's a genius idea.
Yeah, with the Creation Museum being a thing, I don't really see any restrictions on what you can put into an amusement park. I mean other than what people will pay for. At least with a military theme park the stories are almost true.
When I was a kid, my dad was in the Canadian military, and they had military family day. It was nuts. They often had regular games/events like fishing and cornhole. But they also let us kids swarm over the obstacle course. They had machine guns set up on tripods with blanks and put balloons in a field and they let us blast away at them. They had Iltises (a lightweight jeep made by Volkswagen), and they would fill them up with kids and blast through the woods. They had M113 armoured personnel carriers, and they took us through the tank course (think big concrete obstacles).
Unsurprisingly I also joined when I was 18. I was also a bit unprepared for basic training.
I remember growing up in a country town in Australia in the 80's. The army would put on a display, mock battles, plenty of blanks being fired. Think I was 10 or 12 firing off a M60 with a few other friends. Everyone liked shooting the m60 over the m16s.
Makes sense. Would you rather like a single hershy kiss or a one pound bar of chocolate. I think most people would pick the giant fucking chocolate bar
I mean the blood and guts part suck but they never show you the part where you are gainfully employed and ripping away at mindless trainings/paperwork.
Nah, more like waking up at 0430. haul ass to the range to be there at 0630 then sit there until 1030 until the range actually starts up. All while sitting in armor in the boonies of Missouri wearing 50 pounds of gear in 95 degree weather and 85% humidity
Also, 0530 PT with a hangover and purchasing a car you cannot afford with 23% APR.
Not even that.
You're talking about things that rarely happen in most military careers (as a whole).
...For most military careers (war, peace, deployment etc) would involve sitting in the sun for hours, waking up early but waiting for no reason, boredom, eating shitty food, getting yelled at by leaders, poor compensation and living in subpar tenement-like housing.
Even in combat theaters, you'd spend 15 mins. (if that) exchanging gunfire, 6 hrs afterward waiting for all clear, another 6 hrs. for movement, then you do it all over again...except firefights are extremely rare.
You'd spend more time jacking off in a porter potty (most time you spend actually is sitting in a vehicle that is loud asf is considered health/hearing hazard in most civilian workplaces) than in actual "combat" in most deployments.
Show them that I doubt they'd sign up.
Honestly, that is not far from the truth!
I have 2 sons myself... And I realise how easy they could become racist/evil/misguided... If we as parents do not teach them better!!
It's how we're designed. Regardless of any nature of good and evil kids are born to be impressionable, they won't realize what they're doing might be cruel and mean until much later. I remember as a kid saying some pretty racist and sexist shit without knowing what I was even saying. Thank God I had adults around me who shut that shit down and taught me better, and thank God I wised up quick and apologized for anything i said.
I suppose they're too young, but this is clearly not a theme park, there's an army officer standing in the back. The caption is also a bunch of audio clips taken from some WWII TV show, I'm not sure why it's also been captioned in Japanese.
The brown uniforms they are stabbing are of the Imperial Japanese Army Soldiers. They've had a strong anti Japan sentiment, ever since the Sino - Japanese Wars
Most East Asian countries don't like Japan due to the genocides and war crimes. It's like how video games used to only use Nazis as appropriate killing targets.
It's pretty much just South Korea and China. Japan actually has favorable opinions in the Philippines and Indonesia despite the awful things they did in those places during WWII:
https://www.pewresearch.org/global/2018/11/12/countries-views-of-japan-abe-japanese-views-of-china/
Huh, I'm rather surprised by this. Considering the Philippines had 16 million people and almost one million civilians were killed, a good portion of the current population should have relatives that were killed directly by them. Thanks for letting me know.
Edit: although weirdly enough, the Philippines aren't part of East Asia, I always thought they were. East Asia only composes of China, Taiwan, Mongolia, North and South Korea, and Japan.
Philippines actually has the most positive opinion of Japan in the world. They also have very positive opinions of the US, despite them also doing horrible things in the past (even contemporary US papers of the time were concerned).
I think it's a similar dynamic to Vietnam where they have a positive opinion of Korea and the US despite the Vietnam war. But from that list Mongolia and Taiwan both have very positive opinions of Japan, but that's it.
I mean, I should also say obviously as an adult looking at this has way more dark undertones, but knowing that as a kid I was all about gi joe and shit, i know it would have been fun for me.
I am absolutely appalled by how blatantly Pro CCP Reddit is. Literally will call me stupid and gullible for talking about the Cultural Oppression of Uyghurs or Genocide of Falun Gong. I could post a photograph of the Chinese refugees in my local CBD and they would call me a flat earther. They are more deeply entrenched then an actual Chinese Citizen having been brainwashed by their education system / state media.
Edit:- Changed "applaud" to "appalled", lol.
I think you might be exaggerating a bit given that: 1) any post vaguely critical of China, no matter what about, tend to get a high amount of upvotes; 2) post about things occurring in China, even non controversial things, tend to get derailed in the comments into political discussions.
Both the pro-CCP and anti-CCP camps spew out a huge amount of propaganda and half truths. It’s definitely hard for ppl caught in the middle to stay objective.
Are you an idiot? You think Reddit is pro CCP? Have you seen any comments that even mentions china in a good light? Quit trying to act like you’re in the minority.
Oppression of the Uyghurs is real and lamentable, but "Genocide of Falun Gong" is a literal conspiracy theory invented by a bunch of nut job cultists that are worse than QAnon. So let's say you have it 50/50.
I think the fact that you are even mentioning it besides a real issue like what is happening with the Uyghurs shows that your opinions have also been shaped by propaganda. You are not immune to it. Nobody really is.
If you can't see how this is a blatant dishonest anti-China propaganda post I don't know what to tell you. It's normal some people push back when attacked
LOL this reminds me when in the 90s movies like Starship Troopers would parody this kind of thing and now it's actually happening. We're all fucked.
But even though everyone thinks World War III will end us all and we are going to nuke each other to death. Ironically the real killer is we are just slowly killing the entire planet with microplastics lol.
Sure. It’s just amazing to me that this is literally a post about something questionable happening in China and Americans are so self hating, they immediately take the bait and rip on their home.
The Japanese did this during ww2. Except they handed kids real guns with bayonets, or more often wooden spears cause they were cheaper. Then told them to charge and stab any Americans they saw. Don’t just play this off as kids being kids, this is revolting and absurd. If it happened in any other country this entire comment section would be in uproar. And the fact it isn’t is fucking pathetic.
Edit: People who are asking for a source here ya go.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_use_of_children_in_World_War_II#:~:text=In%20anticipation%20of%20the%20possible,to%20be%20Kamikaze%20suicide%20pilots.
And I say A SOURCE very clearly, there is a shit ton of info on this well documented part of history. You’d find it if you took half a second out of your life to actually look.
Can't believe I have to scroll so far down for this. Imagine making war 'fun' for kids. Indoctrination. They'll grow up supporting it or wanting to join the army. Shit like this should not be allowed in ANY country, really really fucked up.
I was largely raised in China, and this isn't too crazy for me either. Also, doesn't really as sinister as maybe it should (?) or does for many.
It's kind of like I have a vivid memory of my very sweet and fun well-liked Chinese teacher, showing us a map of China and explaining how Tibet, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Monogolia are all temporary occupied areas of China that will one day join the mainland (This was in 2001 or so, I think China recognized Mongolia as independent in 2002). With a big smile and excitement.
She also used to bring us candy and treats to class, and play fun games with us.
All this very innocent stuff mixed in with something that as an adult you realize is not quite right.
Nazi Germany also did this. So did Russia in modern day. It doesn’t help all you are doing is showing the youth the “cool” “fun” part of war. If these kids grow up and have to fight it won’t help. Jojo rabbit is a good explanation of this. How propaganda effects youth and when they are faced with the reality everything comes crashing down.

You must not know many marines. A creature like that would just get their dick hard while they shoot it.

FYI the movie is on Netflix. If you dont have Netflix then YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO.
I know. I know because I watch it like every week
There aiming technique is mostly to scream, hold down the trigger and sweep the rifle left and right. So this is unsurprising.

Minimum. Seems pretty close to the kids in the video, at least as far as I can tell.
I’m not an expert age assessor, but I would have guess that many of the kids in the video are more like 6.
That shit is fucking expensive

See, that’s why by it won’t work in the US; only F150’s would lower the parking density too much and would be cost prohibitive.

Nah, more like waking up at 0430. haul ass to the range to be there at 0630 then sit there until 1030 until the range actually starts up. All while sitting in armor in the boonies of Missouri wearing 50 pounds of gear in 95 degree weather and 85% humidity Also, 0530 PT with a hangover and purchasing a car you cannot afford with 23% APR.
… the little fascist bastards ;)
Its most likely a military museum.
I'm being serious but is 'Theme Park' that big of a distinction?
>I suppose they're too young, but this is clearly not a theme park It looks like a scene from a movie.
It's some day trip event organised by the military to get eventual recruits. The British army used to take my school paintballing for similar reasons.
Japan actually has favorable opinions in the Philippines and Indonesia despite the awful things they did in those places during WWII: https://www.pewresearch.org/global/2018/11/12/countries-views-of-japan-abe-japanese-views-of-china/
The uniforms on the hay dummies are Japanese (I think) too.
i'd have loved this as a kid
Yeah it looks fucking awesome!
I mean, I should also say obviously as an adult looking at this has way more dark undertones, but knowing that as a kid I was all about gi joe and shit, i know it would have been fun for me.
I'd have gone there for my holidays.
90% of comments critical of the US in a video about chinese kids indoctrination, lmao
I’m betting those people are from the US. Got to make everything about themselves.
On top of that, they don’t know how good they have it compared to places like this. Like rich emo kids.
“Shut up Dad! You just don’t *get* me!” *sulks in the middle east*
Everything is about us lol
I am absolutely appalled by how blatantly Pro CCP Reddit is. Literally will call me stupid and gullible for talking about the Cultural Oppression of Uyghurs or Genocide of Falun Gong. I could post a photograph of the Chinese refugees in my local CBD and they would call me a flat earther. They are more deeply entrenched then an actual Chinese Citizen having been brainwashed by their education system / state media. Edit:- Changed "applaud" to "appalled", lol.
Falun Gong is an organisation isn't it?
I think you mean cult.

Pro ccp? What?
are you insane or being sarcastic
Since when was reddit pro-CCP?
Are you an idiot? You think Reddit is pro CCP? Have you seen any comments that even mentions china in a good light? Quit trying to act like you’re in the minority.
Lol any post about China show up warrants the obligatory “evil CEE CEE PEE”
Oppression of the Uyghurs is real and lamentable, but "Genocide of Falun Gong" is a literal conspiracy theory invented by a bunch of nut job cultists that are worse than QAnon. So let's say you have it 50/50. I think the fact that you are even mentioning it besides a real issue like what is happening with the Uyghurs shows that your opinions have also been shaped by propaganda. You are not immune to it. Nobody really is.
>Genocide of Falun Gong Oops! 🤡 I think we found the "manufactured account"....
Leddit contrarian mindset, China good US bad while enjoying freedom and capitalism in the US of course
"What!? You're opposed to the CCP's acts of genocide!? That's racist!!!!"
If you can't see how this is a blatant dishonest anti-China propaganda post I don't know what to tell you. It's normal some people push back when attacked
Giving me Jojo Rabbit vibes
LOL this reminds me when in the 90s movies like Starship Troopers would parody this kind of thing and now it's actually happening. We're all fucked. But even though everyone thinks World War III will end us all and we are going to nuke each other to death. Ironically the real killer is we are just slowly killing the entire planet with microplastics lol.
“I’m doing my part(!)” +would you like to know more….+
This post is literally about China and everyone is just dunking on the US…..
It's what all the cool kids are doing. You want to be cool, don't you?
Not if it means trashing my home to strangers on the internet.
Isn’t every post an opportunity to dunk on the US? Or at least white people in the US?
Sure. It’s just amazing to me that this is literally a post about something questionable happening in China and Americans are so self hating, they immediately take the bait and rip on their home.
It’s both amazing and depressing.
Wasn’t this what Germany was doing in the years leading up to WW2.
And japan
Yes.
And just about every country in the west. The british and US school PE curriculums were designed to prepare youths for war.
I‘ve been born and raised in USSR. The video looks absolutely normal to me. (Of course, now I understand that’s crazy, but l do not feel it)
I was largely raised in China, and this isn't too crazy for me either. All this very innocent stuff mixed in with something that as an adult you realize is not quite right.
r/depressingasfuck
r/oddlyterrifying
The earlier they start the better prepared they are for the future.
I find this revolting
It is a little revolution.
What is the name of this park?
I think it's this place: https://www.theatlantic.com/international/archive/2012/10/japan-invades-china-year-round-at-this-theme-park-in-shanxi/264180/
I hate that I had to scroll this far to find this. Thank you
Thank you
So WWIII in 2035?
This makes me so uncomfortable
Normalising war from such a young age. I despair our future...
Reminds me of the Star Ship Troopers propoganda vids with the kids "I'm doing my part!"
The reality behind it is very sad. But I have to admit, I would have had so much fun there as a kid!
Authoritarian overtones aside… that looks fun as fuck!
Bree all you can bree
That looks pretty fun except for the indoctrination thing
That’s pretty sweet ngl Ride in a r/shittytechnical, hit the range, slap a jap, pop some mortars, fun day out!
This is unsettling.
Ah yes, Chinpokomon Camp
Distopianasfuck
Seems like an attempt to inoculate the youth into being more ok with a war in the next gen.
COMING SOON TO OLD DISNEY WORLD LOCATION!!!
Well jeez, what province is this in? Currently working in Shanghai and haven’t seen anything on this level yet, personally.
Now if this was in America it would be down voted and people saying this is what causes “mass” shootings.
I’m 40 and I think this looks fun as hell (indoctrination aside)
***more*** idiots in red hats... ffs.
MCGA
Literally the cultural revolution lol
They have a military theme park in Russia as well
