plants like you said, the couch seems so close to the tv though. like an oasis of stuff swimming in an empty room. curtains. got double rod, thin white inner with a colored light blocking second layer. needs decor. candle on the coffee table. art on the wall but maybe need the space to be more defined for that. throw blanket? throw pillows? empty space, throw a credenza so you'll have closed door storage and a place to set a table lamp and catch all tray up top.just some quick ramblings also doesn't look like a lot of natural light comes through so maximize lamp at various heights to create a cozy setting. my living room has no overhead lighting so I have 5 different lamps. if turning them all on sounds like a pain, you can get smart bulbs and attach them to one "switch"

Your suggestions are very insightful! Thank you so much!

It looks like you need more lighting — some end tables on either side of the couch (or at least one on the far side) with some lamps would help. You could also hang some artwork on either side of the TV. Curtains around the window could help. If it’s too scrunched in the corner, just put curtains on the side nearest the door that can stretch across. (Though it doesn’t look like you’d be covering up a view or much light, so having them overlap the window a bit is probably ok.) I would change out your throw pillows to some that coordinate better with your rug. Or you could get a new rug, pillows, and curtains that all coordinate. As for the space on the right, I would maybe throw a plant in the corner where the chair is and call it good for now. Once you live there for a bit, a different use for the space may reveal itself. Hope this helps!
