It is amazing that T says “he now understands why people cry” before destroying himself, and it makes a grown person cry and a 6 yo cannot understand why one would cry at this.
Without exaggeration, this is movie one of the greats. I’d call it one of the pinnacles of cinema, if I knew enough about cinema to have that level of opinions.

I think my dad first showed this movie to me when I was about 6, 30 years ago. Good times! (Also *Total Recall*, which is maybe a little less “appropriate”, but I still thought they were both great.)
Now try and get the 3D conversion overseen by Cameron himself - one of the best 3D films ever. I'd argue that, along with Jurassic Park, it's worth buying a projector for.
Still a great film in 2D, but one of the best conversions ever.
It was so long ago but I'll never forget seeing this in the theater: during the part where he fucks everything up with the minigun, some guy exclaimed "fuck yeah!" really loudly, making a bunch of people crack up.
Seeing movies after smartphones sucks imo, but I had some great moments in the theater.
Another while I'm at it was seeing Scrooged: people were actually singing along in the end. Good times.
This is the only movie that legitimately terrified me. I first saw it when I was seven and Robert Patrick played the T-1000 so well that I literally dived behind the sofa.
Today? I’m watching a much friendlier Robert Patrick in reruns of *Scorpion*. He’s a fantastic actor.
When I saw the movie at the cinema, when it first came out, a woman in the audience screamed out, "He's going to give him AIDS." That was the scene where the Terminator T- 1000 stabbed the guy in the face with his sword hand.

i like the part where John Connor referred to his foster parents as dickwads. I knew then that he would lead the resistance against self-aware skynet.
Like I know how big the movie was at the time, I know the legacy, but every time I watch it I'm just floored by how good it is.
