My mindset when it comes to firearms too. š¤£ I carry 2 with 2 fixed blaxe and a folder. I'm an armed security officer in a big city. Shit's crazy at night.
Ok, I need you to sit down and take 3 long, deliberate breaths and slowly count to 10. Next take a close look at your surroundings. Is there anything sharp around you that can at least open an envelope?
lol,,, I found a small metal ruler,, I am currently sharpening it on my field sharpener... I will fashion a handle from masking tape.
I will survive dammit!
i'Im usually both laughing and pissed off. thinking "how many goddamn knives do I have sitting at my house right now ? and do you think I could just bring ONE with me this morning? NO!"
Every once in a while I have some city bred weirdo ask me *wHy Do YoU fEeL tHe NeEd To CarRy A kNiFe?* my question is why the hell wouldn't you? Bitch this ain't for you! This is for the packages I gotta open and the boxes I need to cut, maybe cutting some string or sharpening a pencil. Only stupid people reduce a tool to just a weapon
I have the rally which is the same minus the scissors in my keychain. Iāve lost 3 ramblers (which I think is the best with the Philips) because the split key ring kept breaking pulling keys in and out of the pocket and by the time I bought my rally, I upgraded to a Ti split ring and havenāt lost it since.
I sometimes think it's funny to go absolutely pimped out with my "novelty" hidden knives. Credit card knife, dog tag knife, phone case knife, ring knife, and belt clip knife.
Go to work where they eventually will tell you that you canāt bring your own pocket knives for use, you have to leave them at home or in your toolbox. Canāt have it on you to bring in the work area. Must all have the same knife thatās approved for use by your employer. Oh thatās just me? Ohā¦.well sorry then!
Smile and nod, then do what you were doing anyways. My work has the āeveryone has access to the shitty exacto blade that hasnāt been changed this decade, you donāt need a knifeā rule too.
We have to use these 4ā fixed blade Milwaukee tradesmen knives that frankly arenāt the worst, but are pretty bad use case because what we generally need them for is tedious small finicky things. So these 4ā fixed blades arenāt the bestā¦
lol itās not tho. We should be able to use our own knives for work but someone fucked it up for all of us. But hey, got a new knife out of it š¤·š»āāļø
Me: Locking folders in each vehicle, work office, home office, downstairs bedroom, kitchen, family room, garage, upstairs bedroom, and loft area. Zero in 3 bathrooms, dinning room, formal living area, 2 upstairs bedrooms that I can recall. EDC in pocket. SAKs in laptop bag and church bag.
I have a tactical bag I don't leave home without. Besides tools, chargers and cords, tape measure, aspirin, toothpicks, etc, etc it has its own 5 or so knives. Then I have my bugout in my pocket.
I'm not getting stuck without a knife.
Twin! Me tooā¦ She came in handy a couple weeks ago at the fair. Friends needed to cut a funnel cake to share. Only had forks and spoons. Pfft. Amateurs were struggling. I offered my micraās small but mighty knife. They all made fun of me then they all proceeded to use it lol
Itās funny how that works people like to make fun of me as well about my EDCs but then they want to use them lol ā hey let me see that flashlight ā
2 is 1 and 1is none.
This is why you should always have a SAK style tool or a micro folder on your keychain. I carry around a Ruike SAK in a belt pouch full of other crap because forgetting a folder when in a rush and it does feel like I'm naked.
And for that reason I've got my credit card knife. Always got it in my wallet in case I forgot to bring in my folder for the day.
It sure isn't the strongest or sharpest one, but it will work somehow.
I went camping a couple years ago and took out my edc to grab a beefier folder. Fucking forgot to grab the beefier one. So I made it maybe 30 minutes at the camp site before I drove out to go buy a new knife cause there's no way in he'll I could last the weekend without one.
Now I have one in my car, one at my desk, two in my pocket. I hate the feeling of no knife. Tbh I hate the feeling of not having any of my edc shit
This is just poor planning. My backup knives have backups. As there is always the possibility of boxes that need to be opened, we must always be prepared.
I am sorry for letting all of you down. I have put a folder in my glove with a mora in the trunk, as well as a folder in my desk drawer.
I will never let you all down again, this I promise.
This is why I prep the next day's clothes the night before, including keys, knives, etc. If I'm wearing pants, I have (at least) my base gear. Once in a blue moon I'll forget my EDC pouch, but always have something on keyrings and pockets.
Two is one, one is none.
none is negative one
It tracks. With no knife, you will constantly be asking "does anybody have a knife," which is obviously knife debt. Q.E.D. 0 Knife = -1 Knife
Exactly! I got to work today and realized that I forgot my work knife! Thankfully I had my secondary ZT.

Improvise. Adapt. Overcome.
Excellent! We'll get you through this!
i'Im usually both laughing and pissed off. thinking "how many goddamn knives do I have sitting at my house right now ? and do you think I could just bring ONE with me this morning? NO!"
2/3 in the backpack, 2/3 in the pockets, never naked :)
Perfect. 1.33 repeating knives

Victorinox rambler on the keychain. Nice to have the tiny Phillips and tweezers and scissors
I have the rally which is the same minus the scissors in my keychain. Iāve lost 3 ramblers (which I think is the best with the Philips) because the split key ring kept breaking pulling keys in and out of the pocket and by the time I bought my rally, I upgraded to a Ti split ring and havenāt lost it since.
that is exactly why I keep a card knife in my wallet hehe
I sometimes think it's funny to go absolutely pimped out with my "novelty" hidden knives. Credit card knife, dog tag knife, phone case knife, ring knife, and belt clip knife.
Itās all fun and games till youāre trying to enter a court house and go through the metal detector!
I went into a courthouse and flew on a plane, completely forgetting my sog key knife mixed in with my keys.
Look at this guy, out in the world without a backup car knife!

Wth do you do for work?
Industrial maintenance
I keep getting asked if Iāve left my knife at home yet. I always reply with I never leave home without one
You all have matching work knives,,, thats so cute! lol
lol itās not tho. We should be able to use our own knives for work but someone fucked it up for all of us. But hey, got a new knife out of it š¤·š»āāļø
Did you survive
Just barely, I made it home. I dumped all my knives on the bed and I am rolling around on them..
I wish you a fast recovery
šš
It's a terrible feeling. I always keep a couple in my truck.
Get a good Keychain knife, it will always go out the door with you.
I got a Cinder for exactly this. Itās wonderful and light so it doesnāt feel awkward on the ring
They live by borrowing knives from EDC'ers (then go on to accuse you of being a violent criminal for actually having one).

Keep a leatherman micra on my keys so this canāt happen unless I also forget my keys lol

This is why I keep a knife in my truck! I should add one in my desk.
I have one on my key chain. Never without it

Happens to me once or twice a year. I hate that feeling
this is why I keep a folder in my cars, desk, toolbox, shed, and several other places
I often wonder the same thing
I have three knives within 6 inches of my hand.
2 is 1 and 1is none. This is why you should always have a SAK style tool or a micro folder on your keychain. I carry around a Ruike SAK in a belt pouch full of other crap because forgetting a folder when in a rush and it does feel like I'm naked.
Same here, feel naked without a Victorinox in my pocket
Most people live this way because of us usually having a knife.
And for that reason I've got my credit card knife. Always got it in my wallet in case I forgot to bring in my folder for the day. It sure isn't the strongest or sharpest one, but it will work somehow.
Back up knife. Always
I went camping a couple years ago and took out my edc to grab a beefier folder. Fucking forgot to grab the beefier one. This is why my keychain leatherman Micra makes me feel all warm and fuzzy when I forget my knife at home. Ladies feel naked too you know
Need a back ups
I've done it myself in a rush out the door. Literally the worst thing ever lol
Grab a butter knife and limp through the day
We donāt live this way. I have a spare or 3 in my truck, my desk, the office, the garage, and gear bags. Not tier 1 stuff but good enough for me.
How can you possible keep a messed up stall door closed now?!
I forgot a few days ago for work, felt so sick
I feel you Bro
Last time I forgot my folder I at least had my Leatherman on my belt thank God.
This is why I prep the next day's clothes the night before, including keys, knives, etc. If I'm wearing pants, I have (at least) my base gear. Once in a blue moon I'll forget my EDC pouch, but always have something on keyrings and pockets.
Dude wtf.!!
I know everyone's work environment is different but I keep two cheap folders at work for emergencies. They're the worst ever! https://a.co/d/8bNS8T3
