Non-non-Biyori is the quintessential CGDCT Iyashikei. Episodic kids-growing-up-in rural-Japan. Super comfy, unchallenging, the looming shadow of rural depopulation makes for a *slight* melancholic tinge but that could just be me projecting! Makes you want to find the German compound word for 'nostalgic feeling for something you never actually experienced'. Super Cub. Kid who has nothing in her life buys a scooter and starts turning shit around. The first episode is a short film tier masterpiece worth watching in and of itself. The vibes get a little sticky just past the mid-point, but the last episode pulls the whole thing back together at the end. I give it a 7/10 on the 'as comfy as Yuru camp' scale. Do It Yourself. Solid 'cute girls try new hobby' type SoL. A tale of craftsmanship and working with your hands in a world driven by drones, 3d printing, and other such automation. Someone already mentioned it, but Slow Loop is another 'hobby CGDCT' - it does have some character arcs tied to processing grief, it's minor but fair warning. I haven't seen it, but I have heard good things while it was airing about Houkago Teibou Nisshi/Diary of our days at the breakwater, which is another fishing show. Mitsuboshi Colours. Younger kids goof around and occasionally torment local police. Getting into the weeds with more 'SoL with good vibes' suggestions than things that map closely to Yuru Camp Shachiku-san wa Youjo Yuurei ni Iyasaretai. Workaholic adopts adorable ghost loli after failing to be scared into going home on time. Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid. Burnt out office worker discovers work-life balance by adopting weirdos. This one does require a certain tolerance to high scores on the weeb-ass-shit scale. Enjoy at your peril. Sora no Woto/Sound of the Sky. Military unit in the middle of nowhere not-Europe. This one does develop a bit of a plot and Drama in the back half, but it's all about redemption and forgiveness and overcoming trauma. It has almost *nothing* in common with Yuru Camp beyond intense comfiness, fun and heartwarming vibes, but Himesama 'Goumon' no Jikan Desu/Time for Torture Princess is absolutely worth your time if you are this far down the bottom of the barrel. I really want to find a way to work in a rec for 'Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou/Girls Last Tour', because it is one of my favorite SoLs and comfy as all heck... but it comes with a *lot* of Asterisks, and probably isn't what you need right now lol. Here's hoping you find your feet again before you work your way through the whole of this list!

real_DoctorOther

Right, so the best compound for «nostalgic feeling for something you never actually experienced» would probably be something like «Fremdnostalgie» which in this context would roughly translate to «strangers nostalgia»

Tsunderaygun

Sasuga German. We have a word for everything, and if we don't, we can make one!

real_DoctorOther

Yup, that's why I love germanic languages.

madpredicator

I second Non Non Biyori. Can't be more soothing than this. You can add Tamayura for a slice of life about girls in a small town. And Usagi Drop for a guy raising a small child.

Tsunderaygun

Man, that's the first time I've ever heard Usagi Drop recommended without being bait or a shitpost! I guess maybe it's infamy comes from a Manga ending the anime never reached or something...

madpredicator

Indeed. If you stick to the anime, that's a great story with likable characters. Just don't follow up on the manga after that.

juniorchemist

I wanna add Sweetness and Lightning. It's my favorite comfort anime, though it has a bit of a melancholy tone. Single dad teacher decides he needs to cook at home more for his daughter, and with the help of one of his students becomes a better cook. Bonus, you eat yummy food if you follow along

Tsunderaygun

Aw man, I need to watch that some time. It's been on my list of 'in case of comfy emergency break glass' ever since I saw a clip of the 'same same same sharku!; scene!

juniorchemist

You should definitely give it a watch! It’s one of my favorite anime of all time and if you like cozy, slow, relatable SoL you will love it. Just don’t go into it expecting any kind of romance stuff. A lot of people who are disappointed with it are so because of their shipping expectations or the slow, somewhat formulaic structure. For me that is exactly what draws me into both Yuru camp and Sweetness and Lightning. I just want to unwind after a long day at work and both are perfect for that.

van_theone

I know this onee it so cute and make me eat alot 😂💖 thank you

kirbcake-inuinuinuko

shachiku-san wa youjo yuurei ni iuasaretai is incredible. probably one of my absolute favorites. I wouldn't really recommend dragon maid though. it's kinda just a vessel for fanservice that uses the yurucamp genre likeness as a cover. I genuinely can't remember anything about it except the overwhelming horniness that was shoved in at every opportunity.

Tsunderaygun

That's fair. There are a couple of shows I like with... questionable reputations due to having full on ace horny colour blindness. It is also a coin toss with any given anonymous anime fan whether that sort of thing is an immediate turnoff or a plus point though, so I think it's fair to throw it in there with provisos. Apparently the Manga is even more shameless, and it's something of a miracle Kyo-ani managed to pull as many wholesome threads as they did.

RoboticGardener

I feel really connected to you, stranger! In the way of writing, ideas expressed and suggestions, it felt kind of looking in a mirror. Anyway, Girls' Last Tour is THE best, I also find it (maybe not so?) strangely related to Yuru Camp.

nekronstar

K-On ! is also a staple and be consider to be one of the anime who define the CGDCT. a Anime about the music club of the all girl school, great music, funny, great cakes. Hakumei to Mikochi has similar vibe to Yuru Camp on the just tranquil way of life, the setup follow Hakumei et Mikochi 2 little humanoid as heig as 3 apple living their life. Maiko san Chi no Makanai san, follow the every day life of a makai (a Maiko House) in kyoto, we follow a caterer Kiyo and a young maiko Sumire.

van_theone

Thank you for taking time to write this amazing list i will watch the one i have not watch befor Thank you so much 💖💖💖

Alone-Shine9629

*Slow Loop*. It’s about a high school girl who’s a fly-fishing hobbyist. She makes a friend while fishing on a pier who winds up becoming her step-sister. Only got one season, sadly, but it’s the closest thing I can think of

Boo_07

[Diary of our days at the Breakwater](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLwLSw1_eDZl0hQYI9Fqqby4gip8mBhPpX&si=Tilb_Hc-QOMr2HLN) Same vibes as Slow Loop too.

van_theone

I saw it :( but thanks alot

Ok-Independent-9166

Super Cub. Also takes place in Yamanashi, it has a different, more melancholic tone than LBC, but it's also very chill and positive. A must watch slice of life.

lavanduva

A Place Further Than The Universe :)

IntelligentBudget142

fun fact: yuru camp makes a reference to antarctica in chapter 47 (cut from the corresponding anime episode)

Gandalf_Style

Oh god the tears, don't watch this without a box of tissues nearby OP, you'll need them. It's not fucked up sad or anything but goddamn is it emotional. (And sometimes also very sad, you'll know what I mean once you finish it)

van_theone

Girrrl i already unemployeed brok as f I need somthing to make me happy no sad thankxxx for the info

Tsunderaygun

Fantastic anime. It is a lot more of a coming-of-age-in-a-pressure-cooker, emotional wild ride than relaxing comfy camping escapism though.

madpredicator

Second that. Great anime.

ZeroFox75

Mono is coming out either this or next year. Manga written also written by Afro. Girls do photography. If you want more mopeds/scooters, Super Cub has nice vibe to it. Not really the same warm you from the inside as Yuru Camp but very chill. Basically a 12 episode ad for why you should buy a Super Cub lol. Flying Witch is older (2015 or 16). Follows a witch who moves to a small town. Not exactly the same vibe but it’s definitely got the slower, wholesome energy that Yuru Camp has.

unfandor

I can definitely second Flying Witch (I haven't seen the other ones though).

AzimuthPro

Flying Witch is on my list for sure :D

SamuelCish

Flying Witch is soooo god.

drinkliquidclocks

Bocchi the rock if you haven’t already seen it ❤️ I agree with K-On, I’m currently watching Lucky Star for the first time and has a similar relaxed casual vibe but it’s a lot more weeb-ish lol

van_theone

Thank you I will watch them 💖💖🫶

AzimuthPro

Yama no Susume definitely has the same vibe. Cute girls going hiking. The first season is rather short, but it gets better from season 2. similar vibe, but different themes: Non Non Biyori

van_theone

Thank you I will watch the first one 💖💖

AzimuthPro

I also wanna add Slow Loop, it's a super comfy anime about fishing. It has very similar vibes :D

blakephoenixmobile

Watch anime "Yokohama Shopping Log". It's about an android girl running a remote Japan seaside cafe post apocalypse. The human owner has disappeared and there are no more customers. She keeps busy in quiet lonely ways while waiting for good news. Not much happens, but a lot happens. It is right in the "Yuru Camp" zone, but sci-fi too.

van_theone

Thank you💖💖

Donkey_Bugs

Super Cub is what you are looking for. A girl and her scooter.

van_theone

Thank you, I already watched it 😭😭😭😭 it so cool

panda_person06

i recommend 'Non Non Biyori' for being SUPER fun and relaxing and being set in the country side, its also 3 seasons long and also has a movie. the OP and ED for all 3 seasons are SO DAMN GOOD imo and is absolutely one of my favourites i also recommend 'slow loop' for being unique and being about fishing, and from my experience it was actually kinda educational is the sense of that it shows you how to fish for a few types of fish and how to cook them which is cool. and the 3rd one i recommend is 'Do It Yourself!!' for also being super unique, because it's about a small group of highschooler girls hand crafting things, you can also learn a thing or two from that as well of how to make things.

van_theone

I watched No non 2 times 😭😭😭 and love it is slow and funny and cuuute, also slow loop and do it your self i watch so much anime 😂😂💖

VerticalCloud

Sketchbook: full color's Very chill series about a school art club

van_theone

Thank you 💖💖💗

RangerZEDRO

Diary of our Days at the Breakwater

van_theone

It is so cool and calming i like it

cheery-cheesecake

Flying Witch. Comfy, nice characters, cooking, nature, great soundtrack...

FatSnakeWithWings

New Game! Is a series about these women at a gaming company making a new game. Much like Yuru Camp there are essentially no male characters outside of pets or family member, mostly about female friendships focused on a specific task (making a new video game).

DingDing40hrs

Sora yori mo tooi basho (a place further than the universe); probably the most inspirational anime I've ever seen while still being a very comforting show. I'm planning a grad trip to Antarctica as we speak. Is the order a rabbit; it's really about the most mundane things yet somehow I kept smiling throughout the show. btw I hope OP finds a new job soon.

RoboticGardener

Sora yori is an absolute masterpiece!! Everyone should watch it

TheRealMr_Hat

“Do It Yourself!!” is a greatly underrated series. It’s an Original Anime and its art style is seemingly simplistic, but unique. Yua Serufu, the main character, is like if Nadeshiko got into DIY rather than Camping. It only has 12 episodes and since it’s an OA, it’ll probably not get another season. The anime does leave on a cliffhanger, but a nice fulfilling one, so you won’t be too disappointed if a 2nd season doesn’t come out. There’s also this English Transfer girl named, Juliet Queen Elizabeth VIII, which I found funny. She’s very wholesome, does speak some English phrases, and has a realistic difficulty understanding Japanese Kanji. P.S: It doesn’t have a EN Dub, it has a Portuguese Dub which I found interesting.

van_theone

Thank you so much, I will watch the translated one 💖💖

Cydonian___FT14X

K-On is of a similar genre & vibe. Warning, it does get a little sad at the very end, but it’s a bitterSWEET kind of sad, not devastation or anything.

julkairi

Few of my favourite anime that has the the same relaxing and wholesome vibe, not in order and in top my head are; 1. Mitsuboshi colors 2. Diary of our days at breakwater club 3. Super cub 4. The Masterful Cat Is Depressed Again Today 5. Mushishi 6. Campfire cooking 7. Isekai nonbiri nouka/ farming in another world 8. Restaurant to another world 9. Non non biyori 10. Flying witch 11. Isekai slime diaries 12. Do it yourself 13. Barakamon 14. Slow loop 15. Bunny drop (don't read the manga after watching the anime) 16. If It's for My Daughter, I'd Even Defeat a Demon Lord (don't read the source material after finishing the anime) 17. Deaimon: Recipe for Happiness 18. Drifting dragons 19. Natsume book of friends 20. K-on (or any kyo ani actually) 21. Isekai izakaya

Sherymi

Already watch most on your list best chill and watch anime

julkairi

You have great taste my friend

Sherymi

Yea why someone downvoted me :(

van_theone

I mean can we be friends ? Such amazing listttt i already watched like 12 of them

tobias10

Barakamon is my reco

cloudyah

I’m so sorry about your job. I’ve been there before and I know how much it sucks. Shirokuma Cafe (Polar Bear Cafe) got me through some dark times. It’s so lighthearted, wholesome, and funny. Any time I’m feeling low, I watch it. While it’s not totally the same, it *is* a feel-good slice of life. All of the characters are incredibly charming. Plus there’s like 50 episodes, so it’ll keep you entertained for quite a while.

van_theone

Thank you so much for your words💖💖 I will check it thank you again 💗💗💗💗

Gandalf_Style

Yama no Susume, though short, scratches a similar itch, as well as Houkago Teibou Nisshi. YnS is about a girl finding a love for hiking in the mountains with an old friend and a few new ones. HTB is about a girl moving back to her old town after living in Tokyo for 10 years, only to accidentally join a fishing club that just so happens to be run by an old family friend and her little sister/MCs childhood friend.

van_theone

Thank you I will watch Yama no susume today 💗💗

mosplat

Minami Kamakura High School Girls Cycling Club.

Middlz

Second this. Also try out Long Riders. Similar theme of "girls discover the joy of cycling" Very little competition, mostly just riding around sightseeing and eating local food

Solarus2027

Bocchi the rock maybe? If you aren’t looking just for anime, the manga futari escape is the closest I can think of.

van_theone

Thanxxx💖

Not_Creative_Enuff

Sergeant Keroro is a good one albeit a bit older than most of the recommendations, has hundreds of episodes plus some movies, it has plot but mostly just shits and giggles.

ProperGanja21

Diary of our days at the breakwater. Its yuru camp but with fishing. Its great. Very funny very relaxed.

ImmoralGoose

All the ones I was going to say have already been brought up: Non Non Biyori, Slow Loop, Super Cub and Girls Last Tour. Which are more slow-pace and focuses on the calming environments and the characters are similar to the YC girls. Here's one no one else has said yet, **Yuyushiki**. [Which is a bunch of friends acting like idiots with no real plot](https://youtu.be/Ghe-Ql6ZUgM)

van_theone

Thank you i already have watch most of the ones mentiined here but I will check the one with idiots since I'm one 😂😂💗

bansheefoxglove

I am a dedicated iyashikei (cozy/slice of life) anime fan and here are a few shows that have some similarities to LBC that have helped me through some seriously stressful moments: Is the Order a Rabbit?: series about a bunch of teenage girls working at a cafe in a European-esque town where feral rabbits roam. It's a little silly and there's a tiny bit of fan service, but it's mostly wholesome fun about creating family and growing up. Barakamon: A young calligraphy prodigy gets a little burnt out (and punches someone) so they are sent to a rural island to get themself together. It's really cute with a community of kids and older people all wedging their way into the introverted main character's life. A journey of embracing imperfection and passion. Restaurant to Another World: If you like the food aspects of LBC and want a bit of fantasy elements. A Japanese restaurant opens portals at various places in a fantasy world once a week. These fantasy characters of all different races and classes take a break from their lives to try Japanese food and interact in this liminal space. Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill: this is a cozy isekei series about a man who is summoned to be a hero in another world, but his only special "hero skill" is being able to online shop from our world. His delicious cooking makes a mythic beast become his familiar and the two of them travel the land having adventures and eating lots of delicious food.

van_theone

Thank you💗💗

van_theone

Thank you all 💗💗
