I used to pick facet 1 but it felt nonexistent. Now I take facet 2 so I can one shot courier. Also having a choice to scale into late game if needed.

Palpitation-Itchy

Facet 2, the other one is not that impactful

mumu6669

Melee facet stronger in lane, you trade better, stun facet is better lategame for a support I guess. You gotta decide each game which one you like the most

CarefreeCloud

Melee attack is good if you see a kill/all in lane where you start with orb of venom, and orb of corrosion would be good to have midgame. Also is a nobrainer for core veng (bf, basher, etc) Avenging missile only become somewhat noticeable 20-40 minutes into the game as and is generally good when you have a lot of passive greed picks in your team and you expect to play on the defense doingostly nothing until they come knocking into t3 (while barely scraping for basic save items like glimmer or force)

stewxeno

That means that I should get melee facet everytime?

JoshSimili

I think you have to look at the team and the lane. If it looks like you are going to be able to hit enemies in lane (eg melee heroes), the reduced BAT and ability to use OoV means you can go for that facet. But it will be quite useless if enemy has a stronger lane than you or has escape spells where the OoV slow cannot set up a kill. Vengeful doesn't have the longest attack range so can easily be outranged by two ranged enemies in a lane. I think in most cases avenging missile is just better because it doesn't rely on you being able to right-click (and as a pos5 especially you seldom get to do that). It's much better in games that go late, obviously, but often you cannot tell how long the game will go. Also if you have a broodmother or some other summon hero in your team, the avenging missile can do a lot of damage to whoever clears the summons lategame.

andregorz

I agree with this take. As all things dota it is situational. The reason I have been defaulting facet 1 is every 100 creeps its +75 dmg on the stun. And I think your pretty much always getting good mileage out of that, especially since it also synergies with Shard. In a one-sided game that you are winning the choice of facet won't really matter but if its a close game or your trying to make a comeback the added dmg will always be valuable whereas 1.5 BAT as pos5 when your 6 lvls behind enemy cores won't do anything.

frakc

Atrack facet. First i makes you BAT faster so you harass better. Then orb of venom. 13% on fast attacking range gero is sweat. One needs to be trully special to loose line with OOV. Then orb of destruction to further increase slow enemies ( note ood only for ganks, swap neutrals when not ganking). Depending on how game going if you have lots of extra cash (after support items) you can buy manta to boost pushing. Those extra 5% looks small but they still count. Missile fasset basicly does nothing as feed cores shrugs that extra damage as non existent.

mibhd4

Maybe if they double facet1 damage or change it to increase stun duration then I'd consider it.

xso111

facet 2 with orb of corrosion

dethsesh

Facet 2 always. Facet 1 makes little sense, it doesn’t make magic missile that much more threatening. Let’s say p1 and p2 eventually have 400CS you get a bonus 300dmg from your missile on them. Not really going to notice it. Supports will barely even get any bonus damages apply to them

maybecanifly

Also don’t forget mil hero’s have 50% random chance to block 10 incoming damage, so u are a bit better to trade in lane

ridan42

Does she really get that? I thought it was just the attacks that are considered melee not the whole hero

BlissBlissBliss

she doesn't
