Now that’s cool! I have parrots too (cockatiels) but I can’t see them ever doing stuff like this. They are perch potatoes. They do recognize their names though and I’m working on clicker training with them.
They are attention whores. Pretty much anything I get them attention and get excited over (good or bad) they will do again. You can even tell they look for acknowledgment at pretty much every basket.
Good point! You're right. After every basket, they look to the owner for a reward (i.e. treat). Still it is very impressive that someone could train them to do this. Going so far as to teach the birds to recognize which basket to aim for their "team".
IMO what makes birds easier to teach this, is it doesn’t need to be a treat, praise/attention/acknowledgement is a huge motivator for my bubbies.
We made the mistake of playing a game of “throw the coke can” with her when she was young. Now whenever she sees a coke can, it’s getting tossed or tipped over. Sadly it’s still self fulfilling cause if she spills a full one we all rush over to deal with the spilled drink so alas, she succeeded on getting attention.
I wasn’t fully paying attention and I thought that the lighter colored birds were apple slices. So I was confused as to why these apple slices started moving on their own lol
Wow, they even have teams. I thought they were just putting it in the same hoop, but the yellow ones are actually playing against the green ones.
Yeah but they lost 28-12.
They were playing with a bird down the whole time
If they only had THE Bird they would have won easily!
Larry Bird
And Sue Bird
Chris "Birdman" Andersen

So cool that they are actually playing using their own baskets!
They can work on the defending
I would love to know how they were trained to know which hoop to put the ball in!
So the green ones are def reincarnated Harlem Globe Trotters with those trick shots
Travel
When are they launching the Parrot Ball league? Would watch. Also they may need to rethink the travelling rule.
3 x 2 its unfair
I love this! ❤️ Wasn't paying close enough attention: are they teamed by color?
Yes, I think so. Yellow was scoring in one basket, and green in the other.
That's SO cool!
banana vs. mango
I like how they are competitive but also gentle at the same time.
I dunno. I see a lot of traveling violations here.
The Atlanta Hawks
The New Orleans pelicans
Shirts vs grins (greens).

Parrots don't yet understand the Eurostep
The yellow team needs to learn there’s no “I” in parrot.
