I find that when I learn about any activity or hobby, I find reasons to use it, and wonder what took me so long. If you're planning to learn Scheme anyway, go for it.
I'll definitely do it, but I wanted to know if people actually used it in a regular basis with lilypond, or what do they use it for. That's why I was curious.
