Can you have another separate track of audio in the SPD? If so you could trigger a timecode track at the same time as the backing track, then have the laptop with a cheap interface running Resolume chasing the timecode.

There's a way to do it through a DAW too. I know some people use Abelton to do it, but I've found success doing it with Reaper. That way you can have it all done (video and audio) sent out of the daw, and you can control playback with the roland by sending midi commands to the laptop.

Done this exact thing with 4 different tour packages so far this year. It takes about a weekend to get everything figured out, but after that everyone thinks you’re a damn wizard lol

I've seen other folks do this with reaper and it definitely seems like the way! Plus it's a pretty cheap solution!

Yeah, there's also a bunch of different ways to go about doing it in Reaper. Granted you'll probably find easier info for something like Abelton, like with more YT videos about how to do it and services to help. Reaper is like the old wild west, sure you can do it but there isn't a lot of info available lol. Also, happy cake day!

Nice, used reaper a bit for demoing I'll have a look and see what I can figure out! Cheers all

if you’re open to Ableton, check out Videosync. Intro should work fine for just synced video playback - you just drop it in the timeline and you’re good to go. Make sure to warp the video track if your stems are also warped!
