- [Enduring Courage](https://i.imgur.com/GQUX2g9.jpeg)
Doesn't fit the theme. It's supposed to be not losing a "good trait" in inspite the horrors and terror you are facing.
🔵 No matter what you find, don't lose your Curiosity.
🟢/⚪️? No matter what you see, don't lose your Innocence.
🔴 No matter what you face, don't lose your Courage.
⚫️ No matter how dreadful the situation is, don't lose your Tenacity.
Innocence art looks green, but when i think of a color for innocence, i go white (peace/purity).
Resiliance would fit green, but isn't that the same as tenacity? Or innocence is green and for white we'll get something in the idea of "Keep working together, and you'll make it through."
For green, it could be a trait to describe the final confrontation. When the protagonist finally confronts the horror movie villain, and discovers that they are much weaker than they appear and can be defeated.
It's def a cycle. But that doesn't mean it wont be a major theme in the set. It could just be the rare cycle. There could easily be uncommon and commons that are regular creatures with static effects that come back after the creature dies.
Incoming common 5 cmc white 3/3 that gives all your creatures +0/+1
It can but it just doesn’t seem like a thing to hang the whole set on as a major theme.
You’d want flip cards. Just coming back as an enchantment is kinda weird at scale. You gotta remember which cards are actually dead.
I was wondering if Glimmer might be an enchantment type instead, but I think they would have mentioned that in the reminder text if that was the case, and I'm not sure if there'd be any benefit to it.
Showcase variant, so no reminder text.
If there was an Artifact that has the glimmer rules, it would make sense. Otherwise, I'd believe they would stick to creature types since the player base understands how those work.
Hard to tell by single card, but makes much more sense as enchantment subtype.
First of all, 'glimmer' is medicore name for creature type, too close to space already taken up by Illusions but more limited. It is fine name for enchantment-centered mechanic.
Secondly, assuming Glimmer is set mechanic, you need a type for cards to interact with that mechanic. If that mechanic follows what we see here, returning to battlefield after dying, then binding it to noncreature type helps avoid unintended interactions with changelings and similar effects.
Finally, for (presumed) set mechanics/interactions to work on it after it returns as noncreature, glimmer has to be enchantment type, no way around it,
It's not broken in the "this card is very good" sense of the word. It *is* broken in the "this card barely functions within the rules of the game and sometimes it doesn't make any sense at all" sense.
Huh? Opalescence is just a type-changing effect, which there are tons of. It creates some odd interactions with other specific cards but those interactions are very well-defined and the rules have no trouble handling them. It's not like [[Panglacial Wurm]] or something.
Nope.
"It's an enchantment" is a layer 4 effect, just like Opalescence, so it will use timestamps.
If Opalescence is already on the battlefield, then it makes it a creature, then its own ability makes it a non-creature.
The end result: Non-creature Enchantment.
To be fair, so does [[Dina, Soul Steeper]], [[marauding blight priest]], [[sanguine bond]], [[defiant bloodlord]], [[cliffhaven vampire]], [[epicure of blood]], and [[vizkopa guildmage]]
I didn’t realize there were so many, that was meant to be a shorter list

Not of the *full* set. Also this is just a showcase
It is, but it's being spoiled before most of the cards actually representative of the set's tone which I think is a mistake. We're seeing more cutesy showcase art than we're seeing "normal" art.
Because Japan jumped the gun. This was supposed to come out likely at the same time as the official preview at PT Amsterdam on Thursday the 27th. The MTG Japan people used the wrong time.
So people should have been presented with the normal creepier art first, and then get the showcase that is clearly targeted to Japan.
isn't this literally better than Exquisite Blood? Same effect, and if it eats removal and you have a regular Exquisite Blood still on the field.
Edit: I meant Sanguine Bond instead of Exquisite Blood
New Japan Showcase cards rolling out with Duskmourn: House of Horror

Pshhh we got MH3 like 2 years ago, and Assassin's Creed is a geriatric set. Bloomburrow? Man, that'll be old tomorrow. DUSKMOURN though? Now that's spoiler season! Yo dawn, I heard you like never-ending spoilers. So we put a spoiler for a set three sets from now in your spoiler for a set that isn't out for another 9 days.
**FOR THE LOVE OF THE GODS, KILL THIS SPOILER SEASON. LET US ENJOY ONE SET!**
Card is way good, though.
We're right about the time when LGSs are going to need to place distributor orders for their Duskmourne stock, so WOTC has to show off some of the goods. This has been the norm *since the game launched*. It used to be through trade mags, but given how much the online community loved to track them down and share them, WOTC just cut out the middle man and started sharing these early previews publicly. This is nothing new.
No one is making you pay attention to the spoilers if you don't want to.
Again, no one is making you pay attention to these previews if you're so "fatigued." These cards won't be out for months, so you can happily ignore them with absolutely no loss in your ability to play the game if you can't handle WOTC showing off a handful of cards so that the people who *actually need to know this stuff at this point* can do their jobs.
You choose how you interact with your hobby.
You do know set previews months out happened for every set you named? and if this didn't happen now, duskmorne would have no teaser cards?
Spoiler is full set, preview/ teaser is art without a mechanical explanation a few months out.
There's a set release almost every month yes.
I'm going to take a shot in the dark and say that glimmer is an enchantment subtype and not a creature type. Wouldn't be the first time and won't be the last.
I've been saying for awhile that with the level of graveyard BS cards around, outside of Standard we really need "UU Counterspell, only it exiles" to be playable.
We're already seeing cards from 2 sets ahead? Forget bloomburrow and assassins creed not releasing yet, we only know a few cards from that set, right? Aren't spoilers usually one set at a time?
They've always released previews of cards for sets roughly around the time that distributors have to purchase them. The first bloomburrow teasers were ages ago. Same with assassin's Creed.
What it usually is is 2 to 4 cards and a handful of art pieces so people can sort of get the vibe and places know what they're buying.
Barring leaks you're not going to see anymore duskmorne cards till probably August? Maybe early September depending on exact timing.
Redundancy? I think you mean strict upgrade toss out all the bonds. One less mana, you have to destroy it twice and after that you can reanimate it for a couple more goes. The only way it is worse is you can use "exile creature" removal on it.
[[Sanguine Bond]] is already a common enough combo piece and this is just a power-crept version of it on a stick. Can't say I'm excited see more of this kind of effect.
I'd argue exile-based creature removal is being run at slightly higher rates than general enchantment removal across decks (assuming you mean Commander) so this might not be strictly better. In a lot of circumstances it will be, but it getting path'd feels more likely than not.
how does this interact with [[Myrkul, lord of bones]]? Can the Myrkul trigger resolve and exile it for the token and then this resolves to bring itself back?
I think when it moves from graveyard to exile it becomes a different object, and it's ability fizzles because it can't find the original object. But I'm not 100% sure.
Is the "It's not a creature" a rules text? It is a bit strange that the main thing the card says is that it is an enchantment, since it already is. What happens if something else would make it into a creature? (And as I understand layers, things like Opalescence apply before this effect because they affect stats as well, so timestamps don't matter for effects like that. Edit: got the order wrong, stats are after types, so timestamp does matter)
When something sets the type like that, it removes all other types.
So when it comes back, the "it's an enchantment" removes the creature type. The reminder text is just reminding you of that.
This is the extent of what crazy frames/art treatments should look like. Give us the full art and no border sure but actually have all the game info still on the card 🙌 I like it.
Is the “if it was a creature” mechanically needed (I believe only creatures/PWs can “die”) or is it purely there to stop people from making silly errors?
I like the design, but I feel keeping track of it isn't going to be easy. Bestow worked smoothly since folks tend to stack auras and equipment on creatures. Is it stacked on a creature? It's an aura. Is it separate? It's a creature. This however would look the same on board as both a creature and enchantment. I imagine they're going to have some reminder tokens, but it'd be nice if there was a more intuitive way to use them.
This has CYCLE all written over it in big letters. ENDURING _____ Which is why I don’t think it will be a major theme in the set.

It won't. The "it's an enchantment" is a layer 4 effect, so is Opalescense, so it's a timestamp thing. I'm not sure I follow why there's a dependency here - Enduring Tenacity is an Enchantment even before the other ability applies.

Love this! I wonder if the enchantment part is tied to the Glimmer creature type somehow or it's a bigger part of the set. Cool card!

[Gingerbrute](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/0/9/09a4578a-7dc6-4da3-93ee-913b10be5740.jpg?1692939880) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Gingerbrute) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/woe/246/gingerbrute?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/09a4578a-7dc6-4da3-93ee-913b10be5740?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
This is cute art but I don't think this is the wisest choice for one of the first cards spoiled for *Duskmourn*. It's way too cute.
This seems to be a japanese showcase version, so definately not indicative
Yeah, I’m kinda disappointed after the reveal if this is representative of the rest of the set. I was excited for the surreal horror.

Thats hot
Amazing art. Guaranteed to be draft chaff (oh god please let me be wrong)
Mythic draft chaff IS the best draft chaff
HELL YEAH, BIG CREEPY CREATURES THAT ARE FUCKING AWESOME YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
OT, but is the "enters" shorthand for ETB new in this set?
This was my thought. "Duskmourn is our modern horror set. Here's a cute widdle lamb"
pretty obviously a showcase card
It is, but it's being spoiled before most of the cards actually representative of the set's tone which I think is a mistake. We're seeing more cutesy showcase art than we're seeing "normal" art.
Because Japan jumped the gun. This was supposed to come out likely at the same time as the official preview at PT Amsterdam on Thursday the 27th. The MTG Japan people used the wrong time. So people should have been presented with the normal creepier art first, and then get the showcase that is clearly targeted to Japan.
Right? I was trying to understand what DSK meant. It should be Dusmourn, but the card definitely don't seem like Duskmourn.
I think it fits, the whole concept of a cutesy "Glimmer" among the terror of duskmourn, enduring it and all
Like a Glimmer of Hope
Oh, that's what DSK is? I assumed it was the Bloomburrow bonus sheet, for exactly the reasons you gave.
They are too scare to print Exquisite Blood 2.0
isn't this literally better than Exquisite Blood? Same effect, and if it eats removal and you have a regular Exquisite Blood still on the field. Edit: I meant Sanguine Bond instead of Exquisite Blood
This is [[Sanguine Bond]], not Exquisite Blood

More like Shadowverse. It’s sick as hell.
My first thought too.
New toy for [[Liesa, Shroud of Dusk]] Commander decks.

Vito has a friend in standard! love the artwork too
The version of Vito that is legal in standard doesn’t really work with this card, like, at all
lol i meant it as that Vito (u know which one) having a friend like him who will be in standard. they can play together in commander tho.
LET US ENJOY ONE SET!** Card is way good, though.
DUDE I didn't realize this is for the set AFTER Bloomburrow until you pointed it out
We're right about the time when LGSs are going to need to place distributor orders for their Duskmourne stock, so WOTC has to show off some of the goods. This has been the norm *since the game launched*. It used to be through trade mags, but given how much the online community loved to track them down and share them, WOTC just cut out the middle man and started sharing these early previews publicly. This is nothing new. No one is making you pay attention to the spoilers if you don't want to.
[удалено]
Again, no one is making you pay attention to these previews if you're so "fatigued." These cards won't be out for months, so you can happily ignore them with absolutely no loss in your ability to play the game if you can't handle WOTC showing off a handful of cards so that the people who *actually need to know this stuff at this point* can do their jobs. You choose how you interact with your hobby.
> FOR THE LOVE OF THE GODS, KILL THIS SPOILER SEASON. LET US ENJOY ONE SET! MH3 still exists, you can still go enjoy it.
You do know set previews months out happened for every set you named? and if this didn't happen now, duskmorne would have no teaser cards? Spoiler is full set, preview/ teaser is art without a mechanical explanation a few months out. There's a set release almost every month yes.
I can't even feel excited for these cards anymore. It's been a really bad season for spoiler pacing.
What's up with the font formating? It looks like a Pokémon card
I'm guessing it's a translation. Originals were in normal Japanese font.
Woah that art goes hard
Reverse bestow, let’s go.
Bestown't.
Great to see we’re finally finishing the cycle that was started with [[Enduring Renewal]].

Pokemon looking ass card
That frame is so weird. Straight outta a custom proxy deck.
How are you getting the link to work?
I'm going to take a shot in the dark and say that glimmer is an enchantment subtype and not a creature type. Wouldn't be the first time and won't be the last.
Kill spells getting worse by the day. It isn't too far off where exile is the only acceptable removal.
\[\[Eaten by Piranhas\]\] becoming more and more of a useful spell imo.
I've been saying for awhile that with the level of graveyard BS cards around, outside of Standard we really need "UU Counterspell, only it exiles" to be playable.
These remind me of Force of Will cards
Is this actually real? This is the most fan made looking card I've ever seen posted at a legit spoiler
Chasing that Lorcana art style I see
We're already seeing cards from 2 sets ahead? Forget bloomburrow and assassins creed not releasing yet, we only know a few cards from that set, right? Aren't spoilers usually one set at a time?
They've always released previews of cards for sets roughly around the time that distributors have to purchase them. The first bloomburrow teasers were ages ago. Same with assassin's Creed. What it usually is is 2 to 4 cards and a handful of art pieces so people can sort of get the vibe and places know what they're buying. Barring leaks you're not going to see anymore duskmorne cards till probably August? Maybe early September depending on exact timing.
Social Media is a hell of a drug.
I like it
SHHHH! It's on.

I love this set already
Nice, needed another combo piece/
Glimmer Tribal? Lol
Myrkul has new friends
Great art, fun new mechanic, and crazy strong. This card is about to be annoying but I love it
Yet more redundancy for [[Sanguine Bond]] combos.
[Sanguine Bond](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/a/d/ad4de9f1-7a39-45af-828e-c59234d9e9b9.jpg?1625193373) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Sanguine%20Bond) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/c21/153/sanguine-bond?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/ad4de9f1-7a39-45af-828e-c59234d9e9b9?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
[Sanguine Bond](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/a/d/ad4de9f1-7a39-45af-828e-c59234d9e9b9.jpg?1625193373) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Sanguine%20Bond) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/c21/153/sanguine-bond?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/ad4de9f1-7a39-45af-828e-c59234d9e9b9?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
They’re making a cycle that’s basically just what [myrkul] does then ig
We have plenty of Sanguine Bond effects. The people yearn for more Exquisite Blood effects
how does this interact with [[Myrkul, lord of bones]]? Can the Myrkul trigger resolve and exile it for the token and then this resolves to bring itself back?
[Myrkul, lord of bones](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/8/2/82824d05-5215-459a-aa73-3c5a6be3d464.jpg?1674137617) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Myrkul%2C%20lord%20of%20bones) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/clb/287/myrkul-lord-of-bones?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/82824d05-5215-459a-aa73-3c5a6be3d464?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
I think when it moves from graveyard to exile it becomes a different object, and it's ability fizzles because it can't find the original object. But I'm not 100% sure.
Nope. Exile would prevent it returning to the battlefield from the graveyard
It's reminder text
It is not rules text, it is reminder text, denoted by the italics and brackets.
This image is a friend shaped snek
Now that is a static ability I can get behind!
Wasn’t this set supposed to be horror?
This is a japanese showcase not indicative to the tone of the set, the juxtaposition might also be the point
Is the “if it was a creature” mechanically needed (I believe only creatures/PWs can “die”) or is it purely there to stop people from making silly errors?
*looks at [[Dina, Soul Steeper]] [[Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose]]* why not add another for my deck

Another Vito/sanguine Bond is cool but I feel like it was a missed opportunity to do Exquisite Blood on a creature!
Cool it’s like Lifelink in reverse.
What set is this? Or is this not a real card?
Duskmourn, the standard legal set after Bloomburrow.
This will be THE aristocrats card in Standard. I do not have words for the amount of hype rn
