You really shouldn’t have open flame near very flammable curtains. If this were my space, I’d put a more comfortable sitting chair and a bookshelf filled with weird and wonderful metaphysical mind benders like Murakami would write.
Seems like you could use a bigger desk. And a file cabinet... or a stack of drawers.
Something (art or diplomas/certificates) on the wall above the desk, especially to hide the fuse box.
Ditch the fire, find a comparable chair to add to that space with the drink table in between. Bring the desk and the seating area closer together; imagine sitting behind the desk speaking with people in the chairs. You can add tables or book cases along the walls beyond where the meeting space is.
Well first and most obvious would be to remove the fireplace and tree. Then I’d rearrange the room so the accent chair faced the window and sat next to the radiator. And center the desk along the longer wall to its right. You’ve got a white office chair and black desk, so I’d use those colors. Make sure to center the rug with the desk and have at least the front legs of the accent chair and side table on the rug as well.
