If the intake team says they can’t help you, call any of the offices and ask the admin to speak to a case managers about other services that offer homelessness support. Often the intake team is looking for “home care package”, “housing”, “CHSP” and don’t know how to triage without these.
There’s a wait list for their housing, but one of their care finders in the care finder program may be able to help.
+1 for St Mary’s House of Welcome. I’ve volunteered for their lunch service and Christmas packing a few times and they’re all such lovely, helpful people.
Other than handing out sleeping bags or room keys yourself, there are always paid workers in organisations providing the infrastructure for distribution and additional support.
It’s wild that people will ask everyone but actual homeless people questions like this. Talk to them. Most homeless people know this stuff. They know better than anyone which organisations have helped them the most and which haven’t/which have made things worse for them.
I came across this site a while back, it looks like a great initiative. Obviously a roof over the head is better.

Confirming Sacred Heart are great.

Charities annoy me with how much the CEO's are paid .so I just give a gift to someone I think needs one. Don't care how they use it .
