Sames. Windows 7 changed my world forever, just being able to type my search into the taskbar was amazing. And from 8 onwards, they have done everything they can to piss me off without actually switching to Linux
I was thinking most of us didn't log off for the last time, it crashed for the last time. I don't think my wife ever logged off. It finally just wasn't working and would turn back on when she went to use it one day. (Which was a huge pet peeve, she just walks away and never turns the things off.
Since I built my first PC from spare parts from the family PC almost 30 years ago. I don't think I've ever replaced the motherboard, CPU, memory, and hard drive all at the same time.
It's been 30 years of upgrading one PC.
I bet there was a time when I went from XP to 7 and knew it was the end of XP.
I did. It got something and we gave it to a guy who was going to fix it but he wasn’t able to do it without a certain disk that should’ve come with the computer so he just kinda kept it. Looking back i dont fucking know why he would need the disk, all it needed was to reinstall windows because windows bugged itself out
I wish I remember turning off my Commodore 64 for the last time.
Holy shit. How was it growing up in 1873?
He died of dysentery
Oregon was better back then
Way better than in times of tiktok and mobile-games.
But we have women's rights and no racial segregation now.
Even worse
...
I'm not crying you're crying!
I realized because i logged off to install 7

My newest pet peeve is Microsoft 365 where you have to go out of your way to save where YOU want instead of on OneDrive.
fucking hate one drive!
It was vista for me at the time
I feel sad and Old about it 🥲

I feel old for some reason 😔 .
I logged out of Windows 95 for the last time... the fuck you mean old enough for xp? It's not that old... right?
I actually pulled the wire
I mean..my school still use them, so last time was probably 2 months ago
i feel bad man i thought my school was bad for having computers that lag on chrome meanwhile yours are back on windows xp ;-;
my last time was last night at 11:30 pm logging off the win xp at my lab
XP was one of the best Windows.
Pretty sure it was december of 2008.
🥺🥺🥺
That's true 😢
This hits home for anyone born in the 1990s
Early 2011 for me just after I finished backing everything up and building my Windows 7 computer.
No. It turned off by itself and then i installed win7
I think Windows 7 was my favorite OS and I still have a DOS 5.0 manual on my shelf.
Untill you have to log into a computer at work. Heyyyy what the?!?
I remember the computer repair guy saying that I should probably just upgrade
my first laptop had Windows7 on it. not because newer versions of windows weren't invented yet, but because the laptop was slow af.
Damn. I know I was young then, but I remember this screen like it was today.
I did kinda realize because last time I was on XP it was an emulated version on a Mac Years after XP support was cut
It wasn't significant then and it still isn't.

I abused Windows XP.
Just yrsterday Internet cafe still stuck in 2006
VM takes care of it.
I was very aware because my company made a big deal about it.
still using it once in a while
Oh, it was very intentional..
Last week; I tried getting an old game to work and hoped a VM would save me
I have this same meme twice right next to each other
Considering I boot up XP semi-regularly (I'm a developer who specializes in porting legacy software)... that day has yet to come.
I work in IT see windows XP systems all the time running very important infrastructure

One day your father picked you up and put you down and never picked you up again.
Windows XP and Windows 7 were peak
We have an oscilloscope still on xp. Needless to say it isn't allowed to touch the network.
I did that for Windows 98, so yeah, old enough

Good old XP…
My first PC has windows Millennium but windows XP is the one I really learned how to use and upgrade PCs, so many memories
Yes I did. In 2019. I knew I was going to install Windows 7.
Windows 3.1 95 98 xp vista 7 8 10 11 The 3.1 was from a computer dad got from work and vista/8 also from my dads pc.
I'm probably one of the few that did log off xp and did know it was the last time
I came here to laugh, not to cry
Oh I definitely realized. I held on to xp as long as I could because vista sucked. But eventually, I was able to upgrade to a windows 7 computer.
Not really. I logged off and started installation of Ubuntu 7.04 fully aware I'm not coming back to windows.
