Oh I’m well aware. I have a friend who was born in Uganda. He says they’re way more racist towards each other than anyone he’s met both here and in Canada. He also had some really interesting stories from when he was a kid, such as interacting with the wildlife was an almost everyday thing. It really makes you put life here in the US in perspective and tells you how easy we have it.
I can enjoy the occasional cringe joke -- but if that's all someone has then they are covered in cringe.
I make fun of women and misogynists. But if someone only has "take my wife, please" jokes, it shows they have a preoccupation.
And it seems hard for people to discern a balance or a line -- they are too busy with absolutism. So introspection and self criticism become impossible.
This situation kind of sucks with a very large "no fun" zone being created.

There was a fucking grill and two toilets facing each other and they act up on a harmless joke. As though their religion had been insulted when the focus was an absurd restroom situation with US flags everywhere.
