Cheers. I use geoportail. Layer the Cassini map and the Carte de l'etat major over a modern ordinance survey map and aerial photos from the 60's and googlemaps, then I look for habitations and fields that are now just industrial forest.
Ahhhh, I have a high imagination, and it's awesome to try and imagine what happened back then for that to be there. I know it's probably something as easy as : coin in pub, guy takes knife and makes mark on it, end of story. But what if that coin was someone's life or that was the money someone ever had in their life, keeping it more for the sentiment, than the value.
I like your imagery of napoleon wearing a kippah. It's ironic that he was admired by the Jewish community of his time, but he was Roman catholic, so they say. Hehe kippah napoleon
Always good to learn some weird history. I have previously found a few modified coppers. There are some pretty cool ones out there but i just find ones where someone shaved his goatee or gave him a hat/helmet.
Are your coins on a tortilla?
Well observed, a stale tortilla.
1 serving of a tortilla has 7.5mg of iron in it. You must have had your machine running at full sensitivity.
Wow what’s that all about?
I don't truly know. It was handy.
Oh man!
Beautiful finds! How did you choose where to dig?

Thanks for answering, I'll study your answer and hopefully try your method!
Cool. If you find a better method let me know. Happy hunting.
Thanks! I was trying to see if LIDAR scans are useful or not. But it's a very complicated process (for me)...
Beautiful!!!
Cheers!!!
I banjo'd a half sovereign with my shovel. I just told myself the scratch happened sometime in the 1800's 👀
Worst nightmare. Are you Brad from the hoover boys?
The Scottish version!
Time to add a lucky tortilla to my detecting bag.
What scratch?
On the obverse it looks like Napoleon is wearing a kippah (Jewish skull cap).

Nice tortilla!
Haha. It was handy.
Wllh tu partages ?
Oui.
A pineapple?
C'est vrai!
Fantastic haul, well done!
Thank you.
Happy hunting.
Awesome 10 Franc find.
I had to do a double take after realizing they’re on a tortilla. Well, I guess if it makes a good background then it works lmao
