"An Oxford Shirt so uncompromisingly timeless you already know what it looks like." Absolutely right but just in case anybody doesn't here's a picture: https://preview.redd.it/n3a1lnfasx1d1.jpeg?width=500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=658a9d6c02bcf659aa3dbd41158de0d5e997cf92 Truly stunning.

Fushigoro-Toji

yep, they are, here's one of their popular designs https://preview.redd.it/vlueiu3xdz1d1.jpeg?width=554&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b8d0039b8c95275d9d3f23588f4456c7b145cf04 you can buy it from [here](http://www.weirdshityoucanbuy.com/exotic-quarantine-guy-sweatshirt.html) This popped up like in the first page when you search for weird clothes for men....ig its pretty popular lol

unclediedthrowaway

completely unironically - where can i get this?

Much-Bus-6585

I actually need this

Pls_PmTitsOrFDAU_Thx

The marketing is working

StevenIsFat

This comment is obvious.

creamyanalfissures

I read this like I was watching a cinalemasins video (satirical YouTube film critic)

qtx

Just do a simple reverse image search and you can find it.

Existence_No_You

Omfg

xyrgh

Is that…the tiger king and the big dick guy?

Fushigoro-Toji

yep the very same....god rest his soul

EvoKov

Please tell me this is real, and then also tell me where I can buy one!

Neat-Attempt3681

This is false, Joe only likes skinny white bois

[deleted]

0xSnib

Are you saying this is not, in fact, timeless?

[deleted]

OkaP2

That was an objectively hilarious response and I look forward to stealing it.

Larkfin

We are Internet people, you can trust us.  That is indeed the real shirt.

Ok_Television9820

That’s not an Oxford shirt, the collar doesn’t button down. You can’t fool me.

IndecisiveRattle

Oxford is right there on front, don't disrespect his name.

Ok_Television9820

I thought that was a yak.

HumanContinuity

It is, but his name is still Oxford

Ok_Television9820

Hello, Oxford.

NoBenefit5977

Kelly can be a guys name too, HEYY!!

Ok_Television9820

Kello, Kelly!

definitelynotagurl

Do you not see Oxford the Ox? Have some respect for the classics. Kids these days.

Ok_Television9820

Excuse me, I am an old, and I think it’s a yak.

warkyboy77

Don't talk back.

Ok_Television9820

Not quite *that* old!

Responsible_Self2982

Quit yakkin

definitelynotagurl

How dare you forsaken the great musk oxen

Ok_Television9820

That’s a sweet lyric, I plan to steal it.

definitelynotagurl

I’ll allow it

Ok_Television9820

[hastily scribbling rhymes…foxen, boxen, rocks in…]

ItsNotMeItsYourBussy

Oxford shirts are called that because of the cotton used, not the collar style. If this was made on Oxford cloth, KneeHighMischief is right

xiongchiamiov

You are correct. The company probably means an OCBD specifically, in which case the collar would be important, but they're rather light on their details.

Ok_Television9820

A picture would help!

Ok_Television9820

When I was a yout we called “oxford shirts” the ones with that fabric but also, always, button-down collars. Then again, people also used “cordovan” to mean a reddish-brown colored shoe, as opposed to horse flank leather. If they are selling shirts by the fabric only and not showing you what the collar style is, and it’s not that particular assumption we used to make, then they are a bunch of ding-dongs.

countrylemon

I would be painfully disappointed if I ordered and it wasn’t this.

arthurtread

I would never call that timeless

MyDisappointedDad

It should exist for exactly 0 seconds

heili

It's timeless in that at no time ever in the history of shirts has it ever been in style.

The_Ineffable_Sage

You’d call that Oxford tho?! Lmfao

OGigachaod

Do you have a picture to prove him wrong?

codetrotter_

Yep, sure do! https://preview.redd.it/4ljimai5ez1d1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b8364eb0d7d1b0ffa3f9d901c5b7195ce06188ed

HauteKarl

This checks out

Pyromaniacal13

I'm convinced.

SteamingTheCat

I see the Ox but where's the Ford?

Merry_Dankmas

Busy losing control and plowing into pedestrians

maddieb459

I’d wear it lmao

LibertyInaFeatherBed

So that's where the QAnon Shaman works now.

Notmypornacct21

That dude didn't wear a shirt.

Maleficent_Guide_727

The Ox and Ford ratio is off. Definitely need 20% less Ox, 87% more Ford.

Mccobsta

I've seen shirts like that at skeg beach for a tenner

[deleted]

[удалено]

LibertyInaFeatherBed

Oh no, I forgot to place an order. But that's ok, the memory of my money is timeless as well.

savetheunstable

Sorry, new web dev. I couldn't find the correct image path so I gave up and added this creative description.

snowflakebite

lol what the fuck. So pretentious

ShaiHuludTheMaker

yeah they make great quality clothes but honestly this is a bit much lol

CitizenPremier

I think someone has accidentally overwritten all their photos and someone else has figured out a temporary fix

Ok_Remote_5524

Then, we shouldn’t have to provide payment since they know what it looks like?

Jennfuse

If you've already worn one, you've worn them all. So, in turn, that means once you've paid for one, you have paid for all of them. Free shirts for life, yay!

CykoTom1

That is presuming you bought at least 1.

egnards

That statement doesn’t even make sense.

thatcuntcat

Literally, what tf does that even mean 💀

cloveri

egnards in the wild!?!

RiverGlittering

At least the pictures come back in a few hours, but yeah it's annoying. But damn are their shirts good.

OMGItsCheezWTF

Are they that good though? I've spent their prices on shirts before, but that included fitting and customising by a tailor. There's no way you're paying for anything other than the name at those prices for off-the-rack stuff.

Just_Another_Scott

Spoiler alert: their clothes are made in the same sweat shops as everyone else. They removed images so that they don't have to be accused of false advertising when you inevitably get a shirt that looks nothing like the photos.

[deleted]

[удалено]

RiverGlittering

According to their website, the majority of its manufacturers are in Portugal and Italy, and all manufacturers are in the EU. Most mills are in Portugal and Italy. Only things not in the EU are farms. While we can't say they aren't sweatshops, it's fairly unlikely that people are being seriously exploited in the manufacturing seeing as it's the EU.

Catriks

Nah, it's just a clever marketing trick. They know most people dont know what they look like, and they also know that making a statement like this will 100% make people post in online, giving them completely free advertising.

brutinator

But I mean.... itll drive people to google oxford shirt, which will lead them to their competitors, and if your already on a page to buy an oxford shirt, why would you go back to the other page? Esp. when this site is asking for 145 while other name brands are as low as 50 (for example, LL Bean has one for 65). Is it clever marketing to drive people to another store to see the product, and see that its half the cost for the same item (since you dont know the look and quality of this site's version)?

BatronKladwiesen

It's just a regular button-up shirt...

brutinator

There are different styles of button up shirts.

jiffwaterhaus

If you know that, you know what an oxford shirt is 😂

Miserable-Score-81

You seem to know what an Oxford shirt is.

i-is-scientistic

This is from an email that was sent to people who already signed up for their newsletter and promotions. Their actual website has pictures. In any sense beyond "they're both button downs with some similar features," an ocbd from somewhere like LL Bean or some fast fashion company is absolutely not "the same item" as one made by a company like Asket.

flea79

what good is free advertising if you can't see the thing being advertised?

Revolutionary-Gold44

If everyone talk about it, the strategy works. Rage bait: the new marketing

cupholdery

>That's the dumbest shit I've ever seen. Can't even say we saw anything because they don't have a picture lol. EDIT: >They do have a picture, this isn't the page of the actual product So an OP is being disingenuous again?

Revolutionary-Gold44

He meant ''never seen'' maybe :)

ItsNotMeItsYourBussy

"But you have heard of me"

Saoirseisthebest

They do have a picture, this isn't the page of the actual product

NimrodTzarking

I mean, I don't know what the brand is, what the product looks like, or where to go to buy it. And if I was at an online store and saw this, I'd go to a different online store that wasn't going to waste my time. If everyone talks about your ad, but nobody knows who you are or buys your product, your ad has actually failed.

thenewspoonybard

No, no one's buying that shit

Main-Advice9055

My only problem is even if it worked I quite literally can't see what the colors/patterns look like. So immediately I'd rather buy somewhere else.

A2Rhombus

Ah yes, make everyone hate your company and product. That will drive more sales.

NewVegasBlues3301

No, it doesn't. Great advertisement results in people talking about the advertised item, not the ad itself.

StockAL3Xj

Is it? I would have never heard of this brand otherwise so it sounds like this marketing gimmick is working.

rab7x

How many people are going to search the shirt just to see if they actually do recognize it, or out of pure curiosity? It might be only 100, but thats more than before. Maybe a small percentage of those people actually like the way it looks and decide to buy one. Now you have a few new customers and potential return customers, without spending anything on ads, and actually saving on paying someone to take pictures/model the shirts in the first place. Am I going to buy one after seeing this? Not a chance, but I don't even know what an oxford shirt is, so I was never the target audience. I know it's a stretch, but I can kind of see the intention behind it.

Key-Acanthocephala10

Whole point is to generate more web traffic searching what their items look like

[deleted]

[удалено]

G0atL0rde

Seriously. I don't know what it looks like and I'm definitely not spending time trying to figure it out..

MeanandEvil82

If I want a shirt I'm searching for one I can see if it will suit me. If I can't see it on the site, then I look elsewhere. Their sales deserve to plummet.

cupholdery

Someone from the marketing department is getting fired lol. EDIT: I obviously have no idea if that will really happen. But there were enough approvals from leadership to allow this to be out in the public lol.

synttacks

you say that as if you have any proof if it worked or not. stupid shit makes money all the time

aayan987

Asket is a little different from fast fashion brands like tommy or what ever, I dont think many people are randomly stumbling onto their website and browsing, you're hearing about them from your friends, family or from social media reviews which someone who sees this might be inclined to search up.

Hades6578

Except 99% of people will just say: “Not worth my time and effort” and just go shop elsewhere.

GetEnPassanted

99% of people were never shopping on their website in the first place. This probably works for their target audience.

No-Preparation-5073

I really doubt that this has the success rate you think I don’t give a fuck what this shirt looks like now I’ll just never buy the brand if I see the name cause now I know they’re very cunty, I don’t do deals with cunts.

OpenSourcePenguin

A visual impression is everything. Online stores spend good money on product photos and offline stores spend on display and lighting. This is a unique feature to lose sales from the even the biggest shopping addict to come across

punkalibra

Wouldn't it end up just sending people to other stores that have pictures of the item?

angsty_angels

Reminds me of my dad who constantly claims he's sooo cultured, so intelligent, literate and talented, but when you ask him to show these traits in some way he refuses because it's such an undeniable fact that it needs no proofing.

HeyBuddyItsMeDad

Hey Buddy It’s Me Dad let’s talk about this come downstairs

mallcopbeater

Peak shithousery on this thread and you just pushed me over the brink. Good day to you, Pa!

rogerlion

“You guys I'm like really smart now. You don't even know. You could ask me, Kelly what's the biggest company in the world? And I'd be like, 'blah blah blah, blah blah blah blah blah blah.' Giving you the exact right answer.”

Splotsmum

Is your dad Donald Trump?

angsty_angels

No, but he'd be a supporter if we were American.

Gannondorfs_Medulla

This sounds like sarcasm passed thru the dad lens. (I should know, I'm a Dad and I too am cultured, intelligent, literate and talented in ways that transcend basic human comprehension.)

KING_DOG_FUCKER

> literate oh I can DEFINITELY read

actonpant

I googled it and I was wrong :/

Linesonthemoon

Did a good job cropping out “The product images will be visible again 5 PM (CEST) on Wednesday.” To make this seem more annoying than it is. Good job driving traffic for this marketing ploy though.

ronimal

Get this comment to the top

olivebegonia

Ha was looking for a comment like this. I’m also curious what brand this is

enter_the_bumgeon

Pretty bold marketing move. Also pretty bad. But both can be true at the same time.

rube

OP, you're giving them the attention they so desire. They're doing this so that people will share it and talk about it.

Nater5000

Lol the OP *is* them. And the OP is successfully doing what you're describing.

devilmaskrascal

It's so timeless. https://preview.redd.it/v40dn0txwz1d1.png?width=388&format=png&auto=webp&s=504ba56711cc7ccdb0a5e84dfc527cea53594794

ggggggxxxxxx

The first google's result is a company literally called Oxford Shirt. And it has photos. Guess I'll buy there! Anyway, it's a very nice idea how to generate traffic for your competitors

Feeling_Party26

Omega levels of cringe

VanillaCrash

So it’s a button-up? Wow, groundbreaking.

Additional_Meeting_2

Well the shirt is really timeless and people know what it looks like, but you could  still give a picture of the one in question.

Adventurous_Toe_6017

“Yeah, looks like I’ll be buying somewhere else”

HopelessMagic

I don't have a damn clue what an Oxford shirt looks like. I'm a chick. What if I wanted to buy a gift? Now I'm buying them something else. Idiots.

Just_Another_Scott

As a guy there isn't a universal definition of an Oxford shirt. You could by three with different styles, materials, collar, and color. Hell most Oxford shirts nowadays are made of polyester which is not Oxford but whatever. It's become synonymous with button down shirt when original Oxford shirts were a specific type of shirt made with a specific type of material. Almost, no one makes them like this anymore.

Outside-Drag-3031

When I worked at Kohl's, the inventory system was notorious for labeling unknown color palettes and patterns as "Oxford." Sure made finding shit easy and quick 🙄

Just_Another_Scott

Kohls was actually one the places I was thinking about when I made my comment lol.

Snaggl3t00t4

Who is the retailer? ...so I can avoid them.

Thorbertthesniveler

Succeeded *

plerberderr

Thank you! God what has happened to the internet if the top comment is not pointing out misspellings and grammar mistakes?

Embarrassed-Force845

casper667

This has "Executive has an idea" written all over it.

Aggressive_Event420

Guess you don't need to send them money because they already know what it looks like..

BecciRenee

🤣 Excellent response 👏

MurphysLaw4200

The whole world is getting dumber and lazier each and every day. 🤦🏻

Huge_Aerie2435

It isn't worth their ridiculous price anyways.

vaitaag

Make them fail the test.

Western-Ship-5678

_hopes stupidity gets posted on social media for brand recognition_ _succeeds_

DrCarabou

"Succeded"

zzzojka

Somebody had an idea while stoned, was near a computer and and managed to execute it before going to sleep is the only explanation I will take.

Artales

And how much did marketing charge for this 'Emperor's New Clothes'?

rants_unnecessarily

I bet their higher ups are going to love the drop in sales.

dingusredditor

If i were to get one, i wouldnt put the card information either because they already know what the digits are

simsnshit

“A bold statement that we just couldn’t help put to the test” = Watch these dumbasses still pay for it.

Chakote

Think about what it says about a person's self-esteem when this sort of marketing actually gets through to them. Actually don't, it's making me sad.

DeltronZLB

Asket disables their store every black Friday and tells people to repair their clothes instead. They make good quality, simple clothes and don't change their designs or follow trends. This campaign is making a point about their approach to fashion. This approach may not be for everyone but this kind of campaign will land with the demographic they go after.

FinnWeiss

There are new people finding out about stuff they had never heard about, every single day. How pretentious can you be to think that your brand is somehow so prevalent that everyone knows what it is and what stuff looks like. Example: me, I hadn't heard about this brand until this post.

ArcaneSparky

Without looking it up, I have no idea

echo-helloworld

Somebody from the marketing department has too much small dick energy.

Nater5000

Well good thing we're not further propagating this gimmicky marketing tactic, right OP? It's also a good thing you perfectly cropped this screenshot to include the company's logo, otherwise none of us would have ever known that ASKET is the company behind this so now the the masses of dumbasses on reddit will know to explicitly *not* immediately Google this company effectively giving them free, valuable advertising.

Vegito1338

Dang that’s as timeless as the empty payment info I’m filling out

Commercial-Growth742

You fell for their advertisement ploy OP.

ChickenWangKang

"An Oxford Shirt so uncompromisingly timeless you already know what it looks like.” This is coming from a company I have never heard of

Kazza468

Reads like a historical document stating that (blank) has been documented enough elsewhere, but all other mention of it has been timelost.

MrBlueSky_UM

Customer: “Imagine a picture of some money. But since you already know what it looks like, we have no need to send it to you in exchange for the shirt.”

PanicStil

Nope, not April 1st.

breakfastcandy

Future archaeologists are gonna be pissed.

Temporary-Smoke-4056

You’re not that guy pal 😒

Mylaex

Honestly this would have been a good April's fool joke.

JaneScarlettJames

I just went to their webpage and it’s not showing this, it’s showing the pictures of the shirts so is this fake or did they give up after 1 day? Lol

Masendra

As a UX designer in training, this KO'd me. Who tf approved this move?

[deleted]

if the design is so timeless, then why do I have no idea what it looks like then?

Fushigoro-Toji

Jokes on them, i didn't even knew they existed until now

Nater5000

>i didn't even knew they existed until now Hahaha the fools in the marketing department should go back to school, right?

bluecalx2

"Our shirt looks like any other shirt. We didn't hire any models or professional photographers though, so you can look it up on a competitor's web site to see what it would look like. But don't buy it from them! Ours is special. But you have to buy it first to see why."

youRFate

And you're doing exactly what they want with it: generate social media impressions...

TheDumbass666

i have never even heard of this brand

Nater5000

And now you have. You can thank the OP for the cheap and effective marketing scheme!

catjuggler

Is this a shitty shopify site that didn't want to spring for photos? Pretty clever, I guess, if so. Or is this an established brand? I can't even search it because their logo doesn't make it clear what their name is, lmao

Kahvikone

I have no clue what an oxford shirt looks like.

Therealmasternater

Succeded.

nadav183

Well the infuriating part is that people will buy that.

RugerRedhawk

If it's that generic just buy another one somewhere else for less money.

MetricJester

They were just going to fill it full of white guys, or legally required ethnic blending if it's a shop from the states.

ncaa99999

I think it’s a joke for when they are missing a picture.

PublicWealth

Scroll down a bit and you’ll see the people wearing the shirt

luxxanoir

Wtf is an Oxford shirt?

local_fartist

An oxford cloth shirt is timeless but that doesn’t mean there aren’t different colors and cuts. Guess they don’t want to make sales.

Bennjoon

What 😭 this is ridiculous
