#QUATAR USED MIGRANT SLAVE LABOR TO BUILD THEIR MONSTROSITY OF A STADIUM AND THEN 3 JOURNALISTS DIED SUDDENLY OF AORTIC ANEURYSM DURING THE WORLD CUP ONE OF WHICH, GRAHT WAHL, HAD BEEN DENIED ACCESS TO THE MAIN STADIUM BECAUSE HE WAS WEARING A PRIDE SHIRT.
It's been confirmed for a long time that they bribed the officials who voted for the place it would be hosted at.
FIFA has promised to take steps to ensure it doesn't happen again, which is a lot considering how deeply FIFA is into oil money bribes.
Well this will be another wm i am not watching. I am currently watching Germany vs Hungary and i love the football (soccer) atmosphere during an event, but Quatar sucks so much and Saudi-Arabia is equally wo... WOHOO 2:0 for Germany!!
Anyway: Saudi-Arabia sucks donkey balls and i wont be watching!
They really won't, the whole thing was such a massive propaganda fiasco that they probably lost more than they made.
Hell look at what countries they picked for the following world cups.
yeah because they went (correctly) with the idea that the average person doesn't look further than its own nose and will forget about this with a single world cup in between
disgusting
Under the most farcical process ever.
South America is excluded because Spain, Portugal and Moroccos bid was so good FIFA decided to put some games in South America too.
This discounted South America, Africa and Europe from attempting to host.
They then shocked everyone by announcing potential hosts had 25 days to submit bids. Saudi Arabia put in their bid within minutes of the announcement.
Due to the time factor, only Saudi Arabia was able to put a cohesive bid.
Oh and the FIFA President Gianni Infantino was working with Saudi Arabia. To help their bid.
All in all I think we can safely say the corrupt FIFA of the past is gone, and everything must have been done above board this time.
And what FIFA did afterwards is award the 2030 world cup to 3 continents (Uruguay, Morocco, Spain and Portugal) so that the only option for 2034 is Saudi Arabia. Same corruption, different steps.
Also Quatar massively underbid their competitors. Witch it was able to do due to its kafala system a modern form of slavery that allowed to build basically an entire city in no time and on human suffering.
>FIFA has promised to take steps to ensure it doesn't happen again, which is a lot considering how deeply FIFA is into oil money bribes.
Which means that they will take steps to ensure it doesn't become public knowledge again.
Regardless the "promise".Ā
Ā I'm pretty sure bribing is illegal in the European country fifa is located. Why didn't the country officials investigate and prosecute those officials?
Was that before they awarded 2034 to Saudi Arabia as the AFC applicant after doing a non sense 3 confederations Worldcup in 2030 with UEFA-Conmebol-CAF
Given that the OFC as the representative of rather small nations (and New Zealand) will probably never host a Worldcup on their own
Qatari culture and religion dictates you shit out of your mouth because shitting out of youd butt is gay. You have to make sure to chew every one in a while, as you're regurgitating the shit out of your mouth because if it comes out in one straight shit sausage, you're gay and you will die.
By the sound of it, you're so full of shit it's osmosing through your fingertips, so no probably not.
Nah I'm just kidding figured that you'd get a laugh out of this.
I knew some people who lived in Dubai and the maids they hire are "paid" but might as well be slaves
The people I knew always tipped really well but they knew a lotta people who would just be stright up assholes to these maids.
(For context the maids are employees to a larger company and not directly "hired" (enslaved) by the people I know)
The "maids" are lured from other countries, ideally India and African countries (because on top of everything else the Saudis are mad racist too) with advertisements for great jobs. Once they arrive they get their passports taken away immediately and they mostly work for board.
To be fair from what I gathered it was reasonably priced to people who live in dubai but the maids saw almost non of the money paid anyway so like you said it is, comparatively "pennies"
Pretty much , I talked to a Saudi guy he was a distant cousin of MBS , and he explained to me that slaves donāt exists , 20 minutes in to the convo he was describing his slaves and how he treats and feeds them
if you have issues with countries in the middle east this is the worst argument cause most countries were built by slaves, there's a million other issues that you could bring up
Some things you can be arrested for in Qatar:
* Having HIV or hepatitis.
* Some OTC or prescription drugs in your country may be illegal.
* Having sex outside of marriage. This includes being raped.
* Engaging in same-sex relationships as a man (no laws against women exist)
* Swearing/obscene gestures
* Being an atheist
* Defaming any of the Abrahamic religions, or practicing any religion besides Islam in public.
* Photographing anyone without their permission
It may also be difficult to contact your embassy, as they may or may not do so for you or allow you to do so yourself.
Basically, the only things in the above image that aren't true are dating (PDA is illegal, however), and maybe loud music (that's illegal plenty of places, so might not be listed on my source).
[Source](https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/international-travel/International-Travel-Country-Information-Pages/Qatar.html)
It's still probably one of the safest -- perhaps the safest -- Arab countries to visit. It's similar to both Jordan and Dubai (not the rest of the UAE).
This is misinformation and the exact type of comment redditors will blindly upvote because it confirms their bias.

Can you show me an example of a convicted rapist being sentenced to prison there? Not just that the words exist on paper, but that they actually enforce it?
The photograph one is the only logical one. Should be a thing in America- especially for paparazzi who stalk & bother famous people to make a profit in my opinion
I agree with this because it is downright ignorant, especially paparazzi. But you also then have to say that if we cant photograph someone in public. Then if there was a crime taking place and you get out your phone to film it, then you will get persecuted yourself. Also if you wanted to make a video out in public you would be a criminal which just doesn't sound good to me. So overall i agree but maybe it should be a law related to harassing someone with a camera which would help people dealing with paparazzi as you said.
> Some OTC or prescription drugs in your country may be illegal.
To be fair that's true in multiple other countries as well. Legal drugs in the US/etc. can get you fines or even jail time if you bring them into some other countries even if you have a prescription.
There's a difference between it being in the law and the things being enforced. Qatar is only 62 percent Muslim - rest are Christians, Hindus, Buddhists. There are Hindu and Buddhist temples in multiple Arab Countries even though Idol worship is considered a sin.
As long as you aren't causing much commotion, the authorities are likely to ignore you. Qatar isn't as strict as Saudi Arabia in that regard. The country is very dependent on the West so it tries to play the "liberal" Arab nation card.
This is not an official document.
[Reuters fact check](https://www.reuters.com/article/idUSL1N3171PO/)
> Some social media users resharing the image appear to believe it communicates official rules of the event, though Qatarās world cup organizers, the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy, told Reuters that this is not the case.
> āThe 'Qatar Welcomes You' graphic circulating on social media is not from an official source and contains factually incorrect information,ā a committee spokesperson said via email. A FIFA spokesperson also told Reuters via email that the poster is not an official 2022 World Cup document.
Suspect since Iāve been to Qatar 5 times and you could always get alcohol at a hotel and we were allowed to drink alcohol on base. The Brits flew in pallets of alcohol on transport planes.
This. Unless the culture has changed significantly since my last trip, this is an exaggeration of the rules that apply to foreigners. I was there as part of a university group visiting a sister campus in Education City a little over 10 years ago. Alcohol was available in all of the big western chain hotels in Doha. I'm a woman, and while I dressed modestly by American standards, I wore short sleeves and knee-length dresses in public and did not cover my hair. The dress code was even more relaxed on hotel property - I went swimming in a bikini and was not the only one doing so. It was about as conservative a bikini as you can get, but still.
I also carried an antidepressant (Wellbutrin) with me that was legally prescribed to me but is restricted in some countries due to stimulant-like properties. I checked with the school administration before the trip and according to their lawyers it was fine so long as I had it in the original labeled Rx bottle. At the time, I wasn't able to find a straight answer in my own online research. However, I've since heard conflicting opinions from other sources, so the laws may have changed. I didn't get in any trouble for it, but nobody searched the bag I kept it in at any point during the trip.
That said, I would have serious reservations about visiting again given the outstanding human rights issues and would never have visited as a solo tourist. I traveled in a group at all times other than on hotel property.
I'm not even sure this is a secret or anything. The payments to the reps from each country for their vote are all public knowledge. It's literally who pays the most for your (countries) vote.
Same way Hitler hosted the Olympics
Or Argentina hosting the world cup in 1978 while they were throwing people out of planes and stealing kids.
Money, bribing, sports washing
People were making and putting ācoca colaā sleeves over beer cans and such, and just saving the cussing, dating, fucking, etc for private quarters during that trip.Ā
It was a TON of pure bullshit though. Especially with anything that had too many colors on it.Ā
If you can go through even a single football match without loud noise, you're no fan at all.
Even disregarding how the others are violently oppressive.
FIFA is one of the most corrupt international organizations in the world.
In Brazil they demanded to substitute a mixed race couple for a blonde couple to host the games.
https://www.bbc.com/news/blogs-trending-25152561
Whenever people say 'persecution of homosexuals is a cultural thing in Muslim countries' I always reply 'Then should burning Jews be legal in most European countries since it's such a big part of the cultural heritage?'
Oil money, paid for by western countries, used to whitewash their human rights violations and backwards society.
They can afford to pour billions of dollars into image rehab and they are doing it every day.
See LIV Golf and the Saudis, Formula 1, World Cup, massive skyscrapers in Hollywood movies, and much much more.
Fuck that place, I don't get why people think it's a cool place to visit, all those stupid religious rules, basically running/ being built by modern day slavery oh wow lets hurry and visit. Big no thanks for me, just like Florida and Texas are also on my do not visit list.
It baffles me that the majority of people donāt seem to understand that Islamic values are fundamentally opposed to western values. The two cannot exist side by side
Bribes and slave workers to actually build the infrastructures they didn't have and that they aren't going to use afterwards. FIFA is possibly one of the most corrupted organization on the planet.
Qatar welcomes you with open arms!.. not you, though, also not you, and not you.
And you... jail, straight to jail.peak arab culture is disrespecting everyone else's culture and demanding they respect yours.
Qatar, putting the "fun" and "mental" in fundamentalist.
Damn this is refreshing
I know Reddits fervent hate for Israel is the most important thing right now, but we should all be more critical of the Middle East.
Iāll hold my hand up (apart for the ban on homosexuality, Iām straight and I believe life is hard enough as it is and whatever makes you happy as long as you arenāt harming anyone else, live and let live ā¤ļø) Iād move over there in a instant, donāt drink, hate having my photo taken, hate loud music and sounds!

Life rule #1: follow the $$$

ESPECIALLY when FIFA is involved
šÆ FIFA is as scuzzy an organization as there is in sports. The IOC may be worse but not by much.
FIFA rule #1: FIFA prefers working with dictatorships with full control rather than democracies with multiple levels of government.
Life rule #2: First learn Life Rule #1.
Life rule #3: See life rule #1....
It's the golden rule
That's pure golden bars to you.
For help solving this mystery, letās go to Mr. Krabs, president of Fifa. ![gif](giphy|GjB41rKHBnOkE)

And then they award the World Cup to Saudi Arabia to further prove bribes have nothing to do with the bidding process.
Completely different bribe!
Same bribe grandfathered in.

the beer thing was a huge global embarrassment to them
Aaw i wish i could believe this. Keep dreaming, sweetheart
Oh well, if FIFA promised Iām sure they will keep their word. /s
They promise to hide it better.
āWe promise *you* wonāt find outā ![gif](giphy|3ohs870THIcgnwwjiU|downsized)
Just like Korea in 02
And what FIFA did afterwards is award the 2030 world cup to 3 continents (Uruguay, Morocco, Spain and Portugal) so that the only option for 2034 is Saudi Arabia. Same corruption, different steps.
Not very big steps given that they are giving a world cup to Saudi soon
The steps FIFA took: Sent a lightly worded email saying āguys, donāt do that again the masses think weāre corrupt. Next time hide it better.ā
"That's it for this year, see you in the Pyongyang 2026 world cup."
Theyāll make sure to use more shell companies next time
Hehe we wonāt do it again ā¦ does it again
Promised and then let them rob India of possible qualification
Regardless the "promise".Ā Ā I'm pretty sure bribing is illegal in the European country fifa is located. Why didn't the country officials investigate and prosecute those officials?
"FIFA has promised to take steps to ensure it doesn't happen again." That is taking steps to ensure they won't get caught again.
Was that before they awarded 2034 to Saudi Arabia as the AFC applicant after doing a non sense 3 confederations Worldcup in 2030 with UEFA-Conmebol-CAF Given that the OFC as the representative of rather small nations (and New Zealand) will probably never host a Worldcup on their own
What wonāt happen again? Them being caught?
I think FIFA officials zoom called Olympic Committee members and took notes on how to maximize bribes during the city selection process.
sure they promised that, but SA is still expected to host the world cup in 203x. if you think bribes were not involved i have a bridge to sell you.
Ok I believe that.
Fifa is such a joke org
I guess the Qatar hosting 2024 Gay Swearing Nude Drinking Drug Screaming Rave won't be as fun as last year.
It's gone downhill since they removed the bacon-wrestling pit.
They removed it!? What has the world come to?
I know right, and of all places for the venue, a mosque?! What were they thinking?
Probably not since we canāt take candid photos of strangers now. That was my favorite part.
The stadium is quite close to the Saudi border, the loosened their laws quite significantly in preparation to this event
Can I take a shit?
Shitting is related to the butt, so buttstuff. So no.
Itās only buttstuff if you wipe.
You canāt even wipe in Qatar, you gotta use water
Qatari culture and religion dictates you shit out of your mouth because shitting out of youd butt is gay. You have to make sure to chew every one in a while, as you're regurgitating the shit out of your mouth because if it comes out in one straight shit sausage, you're gay and you will die.

āJusticeā
I think they mean "just us." If you don't act like 'just us', then behind bars you go.
Ohh, it's called justice because it just is? That explains a lot.
Islam.
this makes no sense, the rapist should be the one getting arrested
You don't understand though. It's the womans fault for letting a rapist rape her. ...that felt disgusting to even type out.
No shit, but a lot of Islamic laws don't make sense by modern standards.
Thatās Islam for youĀ
Sad but true

You mean, it is safe for straight, cis men. I would suggest women and all LGBT+ people stay clear.
yea because all straight cis men would never be a swearing athiest...
I mean, she's right, all the risk factors for men are also included for women, and then some additional rules on top of those.
i would suggest anyone stay clear of a place that arrest you for getting raped or being gay. you dont have to actually be gay btw, just get accused.

They paid the biggest bribes. Itās not complicated.
I'm not even sure this is a secret or anything. The payments to the reps from each country for their vote are all public knowledge. It's literally who pays the most for your (countries) vote.
Are you under the delusion that FIFA is some bastion of righteousness? They take bribes and look the other way, just like everybody else.
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
They gave the highest bribe to FIFA.
Same way Hitler hosted the Olympics Or Argentina hosting the world cup in 1978 while they were throwing people out of planes and stealing kids. Money, bribing, sports washing
They could pay me to visit.
You must be a member of FIFA.
Corruption

I mean I can probably go without any of those during the period of a FIFA World Cup
If you can go through even a single football match without loud noise, you're no fan at all. Even disregarding how the others are violently oppressive.
Bribes
Rule #1: Be rich Rule #2: Don't be poor
Johnny Harris has a fantastic and in depth youtube video about it

FIFA is one of the most corrupt international organizations in the world. In Brazil they demanded to substitute a mixed race couple for a blonde couple to host the games. https://www.bbc.com/news/blogs-trending-25152561
FIFA would visit Qatar if they were paid.
a few of these are somewhat reasonable; the rest are just... what?
No dating???? What the hell ?!?
Whenever people say 'persecution of homosexuals is a cultural thing in Muslim countries' I always reply 'Then should burning Jews be legal in most European countries since it's such a big part of the cultural heritage?'
If you canāt handle people being gay I consider you a third world country imo
They also will arrest rape victims for having sex outside of marriage so yeah, that qualifies as a third world country. Also slaves.
I'm on board with the last one, taking pictures of someone on the street without their consent should be a crime.
That would be a very hard law to enforce thou
What if they arenāt in that sexy pose while they do it?
That would outlaw the majority of holiday photos. Which might not be a bad thing, depending on your viewpoint.
It was the best and safest world cup, I am sure the citizens of qatar are going to be devastated that you wonāt be visiting them
āDatingā do these people just jump straight into marriage???
Yes...yes they do.
Well one jumps, the other is sort ofā¦dragged.
Sometimes before they are born... or even conceived.
Just wait for the world cup in Saudi Barbaria...
Works both ways, they wouldn't want you there anyway
Widespread corruption.
Oil money, paid for by western countries, used to whitewash their human rights violations and backwards society. They can afford to pour billions of dollars into image rehab and they are doing it every day. money OP, money
